When ive been running this thing there have been several issues that i have noticed some are spread to volundr as well but one in particular is to do with this boss at gofannon.
1. balls bouncing off the forge.
2. The gofannon forge boss can be made immune by other servitors but when this happens the boss can also make the servitors immune this causes major time loss of not being able to do damage for sometimes 20+ seconds.
3. Sometimes picking up the ball can feel wierd like i will pick it up but the animation is delayed or it will just not register. kind of like picking up motes in gambit
4. Sometimes the majors that drop the batteries either have a delayed spawn ( This isnt really a problem just trying to point out possible issues to see if they can be addressed in a patch sometime soon).
These are just some of the issues that i have noticed when doing this the only one that i find really annoying is the boss one especially when he teleport spams me. Ik its unlikely that bungie will see this but just trying to find out if fixes are planed for these.
Edit: When I say the balls bounce off I don’t mean that I’m hitting the frame of the forge I’m talking about times where I’ll hit the thing straight on and it will just bounce straight off

The ball bouncing off is a mechanic so you have to aim, kill the ads in the forge stop letting them stack up. Gear up so that 20 seconds is meaningless (630+ makes the boss die almost instantly with group of similar or higher leveled players. And again kill the ads. You go in knowing this is a thing and probably ignored them.

Great write-up. I have encountered most of these quirks myself as well.

6 RepliesWhat the heck is wrong with the matchmaking? Anyone else having trash matchmaking. Joining in progress or BY YOURSELF is the literal WORST.

3 RepliesEdited by vmondude: 12/10/2018 12:40:42 AMYeah like everything BungIe creats, it looks good, sounds good but functions like a feather for a paper weight. Batteries won’t pick up, batteries delay pick up leaving you fumbling controls wasting time maybe getting killed instead, boss is immune for way too long sometimes, batteries bounce off randomly no matter where you hit the forge And then there’s the usual game issues - Dlc was a massive let down, apparently no one noticed the Black Armoury when building the tower, still getting killed by architects a lot when hardly anything happened, game still runs terribly on base consoles, frame drops are giving me epilepsy, pve enemies still teleporting (not vex ironically) and the usual laggy players ruining match stability and mechanics detection. Just another day at Bungie. You think they’d have had enough of being a meme by now and fixed their mistakes.

1 ReplyEdited by TheShadow-cali: 12/10/2018 12:10:14 AMThere are few things wrong with both the maps. I think some of it is rigged to be this way. I can't stand using Thunderlord trying to kill red bars and halfway through the clip they stop taking damage like they are Superman and kill you. I'm getting annoyed with Bungie's rigged mechanics like Gambit.

1 ReplyDont wanna sound hindsighted. But are most people aware that in wave 2 of a forge you have to aim the balls more acurately? The sides are expanding so you have to hit the ball inbetween. However, i always just aim at the big white-ish glowing screw thats rotating on top of it. As soon as i pick up the ball i jump up and during my glide i aim and throw. Hope this helps.

Completely agree. I hit the Forge one time and it bounces off, the next time, same spot, it scores. WTF is this Bungie? And the 1 to 2 seconds delay before it actually picks up the Ball, WTF is this about Bungie? Clearly your "Hybrid Server" (i.e. Peer to Peer with a Tally server - no hosting at all) is pure and utter trash. Grow up, this isn't 2008 Halo era anymore. Either get Dedicated Host Servers for All activities or I won't spend anymore money on Destiny.

5 Replies5. Connection/Starting issues. When you matchmake and two of the three players are loaded in, the forge just starts. No warning, no time to prepare. Certainly no time for this third player to join. Two things can happen here. 1. Enemies will spawn, orbs will drop, but throwing them doesn't count. Until that third player drops in? Zero progress made. 2. The forge shockingly works as intended, but the third player doesn't spawn in until after a minute passes. For a group of 600-610, this is problematic. You need three people in there. Solution to both? Are you ready for some common sense? Make it so players will have to hold the activate on the forge to start the event. Pretty straight forward, no? This will massively help three man teams, because they can communicate when to start it. As for you solo players, you'll just have to pay a bit of attention. If you wanna troll and start it anyway? Ok. That's your loot and time being risked. I feel like this would improve general performance, since we aren't loading into a loading instance, if that makes sense.

2 RepliesYes <, thank you, Servitor boss making everything immune, including the servitor that is not supposed to be immune caused a bunch of failed attempts because of time loss and alot of frustration. TY DS

Who knew the Annual Pass would create so many ball handling issues?

This ^. However I've hit the frame of the forge before and it has still counted towards my time (if you're on about the metal parts that stick out from the part that heats up).

2 RepliesEdited by A1CBeers: 12/10/2018 7:41:40 PMI also have an issue with how quickly a run ends before it launches you into a new one. Yes, it cuts down wait time, but I keep getting matched with people that likely finished whatever they needed in their previous one and didn't get to return to orbit in time. Ultimately this results in people leaving immediately as soon as round 1 starts, and it isn't always putting another person in right away. I actually did the entire first round with just one other person earlier today because it never put anyone else in with us until somewhere in round 2 of the Gofannon forge. I also have a problem with matchmaking. I'm 626 currently. Why is it matching me with people at about 605 that can't even stay alive because they're underleveled? Matchmaking for strikes pairs you with players that are typically at or near a similar level to yourself. The forges don't do that so it really makes the whole matchmaking concept for this pointless since you can't beat the darn thing anyway. And to think that people believe we should have actual matchmaking for nightfalls and raids. The forge is a disaster this way.

How about getting spawn -blam!- by the Servitor because he is hovering right over the spawn point and keeps wiping us. Fookin' ridiculous!!

5 RepliesAMMO DROPS also. I have at least two Increased Heavy ammo drop perks (sometimes 3) and two Increased Special ammo drops perks on my armor and most of the time nothing drops. Can't do damage to enemies if I have no ammo for my guns.

3 RepliesThe first Forge is still too f'ing hard.

5 Replies1. The balls bounce when you hit the fins. This is not an issue to fix, you just need to be better with where you aim.

4 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 12/9/2018 10:20:47 PMThe Gofannon forge is absurd. There’s a spot where the charges can roll under a container and become inaccessible. Has happened several times to me in like 2 hours. The charges bounce off the forge columns WAY more frequently here than the previous forge. Areas that shouldn’t be “electric lava” during round 2 because they are raised are in fact still electric lava. I have gone several matches in a row without seeing a single heavy ammo drop at times. Being reduced to nothing but primary ammo when the boss still has half health or more means you already can’t win. Servitor boss literally teleports me so far away from it multiple times in a row that by the time I got back to it I was being teleported again. It teleports players AFTER a loss despite that it has already disappeared. It teleports WAY too much. Can’t damage it if I’m being teleported so frequently. Multiple shields from multiple servitors shielding each other means not possible to damage the boss for sometimes near half the allotted time.

1 ReplyEdited by Shamona220: 12/10/2018 5:03:56 AMThe balls bouncing off is really starting to piss me off. The clock should also be refilled when balls strike the Forge, not on major kills. It's a horrible feeling when you're racing to strike the Forge there's multiple balls on the field but the clock runs out. ALSO THE FIRST FORGE IS STILL TOO F'ING HARD!!!!!! This activity doesn't feel good at all right now.

4 RepliesRound 2 the ball will bounce off of frames around forge. Don't hit them. Aim for top. If you throw a charge and miss you can walk right over it and pick it up without pressing anything. You can even catch it bouncing off. Don't go after charges other people have thrown. Because of previous mechanic it makes picking them up wonky. Don't bother reviving unless they are right beside you and you're sure you won't die. But usually not worth it. You spawn 20 feet away. Killing glowing enemies adds time, not throwing charges into the forge. If you see someone going ham, killing glowing enemies like a madman, throw the charges... You know those 10 laying there on the other side of the map, but you are busy trying to solo one side.

Edited by Sky: 12/10/2018 1:22:17 PMThe batteries bouncing off doesnt bother me, this just tells me that I and others need to LEARN TO AIM. The forge shifts shape slightly during round two, and the three pillars are a little more prominent. Dont hit them, aim between them, and high, or hit the base of the forge. Edit: During round 2 the pillars extend out a little more, making it so it looks as if you hit the center mass of the forge, but actually hit the inside of the pillar, making the ball bounce off.. this could be fixed. The servirtors shielding each other is my biggest issue with the second forge right now.. Iv had this happen more often then Id like when the boss is a sliver of health, and suddenly is shielded, and it shields the other servirtors around it, making all immune and making us lose the fight.. The teleporting is a problem as well.. enemy cool downs on abilities need to be adjusted.. I also feel the boss should not move to over the spawn point, because it then can just melee you after you respawn and insta kill you.

2 RepliesBalls bouncing off the forge is NOT an issue. You just suck at throwing, don’t throw at the side parts throw at the spinning core

It's hard, as always, to determine the effect that our latency will have on our actions/performance during highly intense situations like these forge activities. I HIGHLY recommend that Bungie simply adds 10 seconds to each of the round's counters (clock) because most people will lose at least that in each round because of a tiny glitch which probably has to do with delay and/or high latency stress on their connection.

2 RepliesYou left out that in some supers you auto pick up the batteries and it cancels your super and you no longer have the super. I had it happen with hammer titan and slam titan then a friend had it happen as soon as he popped stormtrance on his warlock and the first kill dropped a battery and took his super.
