Remember when Bungie said, “Instead of nerfing everything, like we done in the past, we are going to bring other things up and buff”
Well...Bungie lied again.
All they do is nerf nerf nerf...

And this surprises you why???????/

1 ReplyCan we buff scouts next? I know they added an abysmal1.5% buff across the scout board for pvp, but they just feel so poopy when you know there are handcanons that can hit from a similar range with minimal damage fall off. I'd love to enjoy my Polaris Lance again.

37 RepliesNow, I’m just looking at the most recent patch notes, and: -Didn’t they just buff scout rifles damage slightly? -And submachine gun accuracy? -And machine gun accuracy? -And damage for rapid fire fusions? -And boosted the effectiveness of rapid fire frame on shotguns? -And Prometheus Lens damage? -And, though it has one less Memento Mori bullet per activation, I would personally argue that bc Memento Mori refreshes on any reload after getting a kill, that Ace of Spades got a buff (but that is arguable) -And fixed and plan on fixing some issues with Chaos Reach? -And fixed some issues with Nova Warp? -And fixed some issues with Setinel? -And made Spectral Blades melee attacks more reliable and made stealth more effective? -And fixed some camera issues with Burning Maul and Thundercrash? -And fixed Ophidian Aspect so it increases melee range for charged melees? And fixed an issue with Lunafaction boots where it’s effect wouldn’t last as long in Well if Radiance? -And fixed some animation issues I don’t want to bother listing? Compared to what, a nerf to trench barrel on shotguns, and an issue with Hard Light? They really don’t seem to be needing a lot at the moment

Here we go again. You're patently incorrect, and the most recent patch notes prove that without a shadow of a doubt. A few things got less powerful, and quite a lot more got slightly to significantly more powerful (looking at you, Ace of Spades, with your chaining Memento bullets). By far, the number of buffs is dwarfing the number of nerfs, and it's easily seen. To claim otherwise while having a bullet pointed list to the contrary is just an attempt at jebaitery, at absolute best, bitterness at worst. I'm seeing a lot of reference to trench barrel in the comments, specifically. This change is not, technically, a nerf. If the Ikelos shotgun had remained a heavy weapon, received no additional ammo / damage / bonuses to offset the change, etc., then we have ourselves a genuine nerf (defined as a net loss of power, function, or usability with no positive trade-off). This is a refactoring and rebalancing, and it's completely needed, in my opinion. As a heavy weapon with limited ammo availability, full mag damage buffs from trench barrel made sense: it was insanely powerful, but it made sense. Change it to a special weapon, for which ammo is stupidly common, and can be made more common with armor perks, and it's patently too powerful to allow anything else to be a reasonable choice, especially given that you can still carry Whisper or Sleeper with it. And as mentioned before, it's now a general shotgun perk, so you can get a god rolled weapon with trench barrel...that's fantastic. so what if you have to toss in another melee once in a while, it's an outstanding damage source. I mean, too bad that the one gun everyone used for boss DPS is no longer the end all be all of choices, but there should be more than one really good choice for the special slot. Having it only be Ikelos is moronic. I'm seeing a lot of 'what I liked and depended on is no longer the best thing out there, Bungie ruined the game'. Never mind that the game and weapons and abilities as a whole are trending in the positive, let's throw temper tantrums because now we have to make a choice, rather than default to the one obviously massively out of the norm thing that I like. Geez, and people say the PvP crowd is bad about clinging to metas...

What gotten nerfed? Most of the things that supposedly have gotten nerfed in players eyes were actually bug fixes lol. The only thing that has ever really gotten nerfed is sleeper simulant and thats about it, everything else was bug fixes.
-
4 RepliesNothing in the game so far has been nerfed to unusability, and the only things that have been nerfed were bordering on actually broken mechanic-wise. They've done a WAY better job than they did in D1 where they were forced to nerf entire archetypes of weapons due to one particular one being good. Seriously though, what has been nerfed that is so bad now it's not on par with anything else in the game? Workhusk in the meta it was nerfed in was OP as -blam!-. Ikelos shotgun was OP as -blam!- and still extremely good. No reason a legendary from a simple activity should be better than exotics of the same weapon class. Sleeper was actually 'fixed' IMO. The aim assist was so big it would rip right off your main target if anything else even came near your line of sight. In a year+ this game has been out, those are the only "big" three nerfs that stand out to me unless I'm missing something. Lots of stuffed has been buffed along the way as well.

I’m disappointed there was no “Pepperidge Farm remembers.”
-
simply put. It's one thing to nerf something. It's a completely nother to adjust it. And yet a completely nother to fix something that isn't working properly. I haven't paid as much attention to everything transpiring in D2 but what have I seen pails in comparison to D1. Though I will say there are definitely some weapons/class of weapons that need +DMG output. And a variety of changes with others such as range adjustments, etc. The problem is that until Bungie balances weapons for PVE and PVP independently we're going to have issues on both sides of the field.
-
Member how in the last few patches they basically said we don't want to Nerf this.... But here's all the ways that we did it? Point is take everything with a grain of salt, and not everything is as good as it seems with this company.
-
3 RepliesThey buffed waay more than nerfed in D2, so I don't know why you're complaining. No reason why a legendary shotgun should out dps all exotic specials. Not even merciless can compete which makes it useless. And before you say,"BuFf MeRcILesS ThEn" that's not the point. Point is if something is taking front and center and making all other weapons irrelevant , the problem isn't the other weapons. You pvers cry about everything and blame everyone else but yourselves, even after spamming the crap out of a weapon for 2 seasons.
-
2 RepliesInteresting that people are bent on the EP shotgun and didn't really say boo when the sleeper got nerfed.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Spectra: 12/3/2018 7:10:06 AMNerfs are needed wether you like it or not. The problem is when they become the solution for everything (like Bungie did on the past) or when things are nerfed more then they should have been. On the other hand, having things being to overpowerd is also a problem, and making everything else OP doesn’t make for a better gameplay experience.

I don't think you entirely understand how balancing games works. Nerfing things is critical to keeping a game healthy, otherwise you have to deal with terrible powercreep.
-
In all objective fairness, I understand the Trench Barrel nerf - it made the EP Shotty equal to, in some instances better than, top tier Exotic Heavies. That is the start of Power Creep. The other nerfs I'm seeing mentioned in here? As long as they are PvP only (which is possible) then I'm fine with that. Let PvPers nerf their way towards a pillow fight. So long as PvE has us decently powerful, which we are, I'm good.
-
Nerfs are necessary sometimes, deal with it and cry less. Unless you want insane power creep, learn to adapt to the nerfs.
-
Maybe because some items or abilities are actually unfair. Saying no nerfs is silly honestly. Good game balance tunes items up AND down.

5 RepliesTrench barrel was an old perk year 1 perk for a heavy weapon that became a special weapon in year two the perk was out of balance with the new sandbox thanks to many changes in Forsaken its now been updated and is still a very strong perk that still gives 50% more dmg after a melee hit and thanks to the change is now part of the general loot pool for year 2 weapons! meaning you could get a shotgun with rampage and trench barrel now and add on a boss mod.... So an old year 1 legendary is no longer king of all weapons in the game thats a good thing as it should never of been the case..

11 RepliesLike it or not nerfs need to happen. Imagine on day 1 they give us a gun that kills the boss in 3 shots. Because we want powerful loot they need to give us something more powerful than that to keep us playing. So on day 2 they give us a gun that kills the boss in 2 shots. Day 3 continues the same with them giving us a gun that kills the boss in 1 shot. But on day 4 what happens because we’ve already hit the power cap on day 3? Every gun from here on in has to kill the boss in 1 shot meaning every weapon we get from this moment on becomes no better than the last. Therefore every weapon is average and because nobody grinds for average BOOM goes the replay value of new content. Nerfs and buffs need to happen, even in PVE otherwise stagnation happens and we loose one of the drives that keeps us playing a looter shooter.

Where is this post?
-
yes, and? Ikelos was simpy too strong .... why would they not nerf it? Use your brain dude xD

Edited by Kind of Mind: 12/3/2018 2:46:47 PMPoor developing, programming, testing, and releasing schedules of content. Such is the way with bungie developers for this game. The cycle of nerfing is intrinsic to Destiny. Its so pathetically sad. And then you have even more pathetic posts below saying that nerfs need to happen. Lol. The blind simple headed sheep just dont get it!

10 RepliesEdited by TheWagn: 12/3/2018 3:17:16 PMnope only good needed changes and some nice buffs in the last patch notes. I swear anytime something OP gets a rework (and is still very usable and powerful) you people go bananas. Like you really thought ursa was supposed to give you a full super when one guy shoots you? You really thought they wouldn't change that. Like you really foreal 100% actually thought that somebody designed it to work like that...
-
Edited by blade329: 12/3/2018 7:45:41 PMThey can't help it. It's who they are. I was saying this before Forsaken launched. I knew they would fall back to their old ways. Just like when they released Destiny 2 with a boatload of useless shit gear, that they thought was wonderful. This is who Bungie is. They think a loot based game should have weaker gear to support their dream of a dull generic PvP game that's fit for eSports. Nutty as a fruit cake.

Thanks PVP

1 ReplyOh yeah! Just wait for it...more nerfs are inbound. I'm willing to bet they even nerf the pinnacle weapons. Or make the grind harder.

1 ReplyGambit just needs to be removed. Not nearly worth the trouble it’s causing.
