I recently started a short-term job at Gamestop to help my buddy during the holidays. That's a huge eye opener. Destiny is so dead, so irrelevant, and looked at very poorly by gamers at large. You'd laugh at how many unclaimed collectors edition Forsaken we have and Destiny trash like figures. We just keep it all in the back to collect dust because NOBODY is buying it and we have limited space. Basically the "trash" goes back there. It's Destiny's home. I sold 1 copy of the game this holiday season. Sold tons of other stuff, even old games. I've literally sold more of everything else lol. I've literally sold more copies of Wipeout VR and carnival games that I have Destiny 2 or destiny 2 forsaken. The ship has sailed people. Time to go. EDIT: LOOK AT ALL THE REPLIES FROM THE DESTINY FANBOYS HERE. I'm truly sorry you guys can't accept the truth. For those that have some stupid argument as to why this is invalid let me spell it out for you. Every single game is now released digitally. The argument that nobody goes to buy games at Gamestop is completely stupid and incorrect. Tons of people still buy disc games or else we wouldn't even have a business. This store sold $100,000 in disc games and consoles basically on Black Friday. It is most definitely still a significant chunk of the gaming industry purchases and I'm pretty sure it's still the predominant chunk. If it was true that people bought only digital games then we wouldn't be selling any copies of Red Dead Redemption now would we? We sell at least 20 of that game a day. Obviously that's brand new and just came out and that's why. I've literally had more people come pick up older versions of call of duty for nostalgia sake than I've had people pick up a new Destiny game. The game also come up in conversation in the store many times. The sentiment is always the same. People have a pretty fond memory of D1, but when it comes to Destiny 2 most people think the game is completely ruined and not even worth playing. I'm sorry if my post rocks your world and you bought an annual pass and it's making you realize you wasted your money, but that's your problem not mine.

I’ve been with Destiny since D1 beta...and can safely say matchmaking is at its very worst and [b]lowest point[/b]. Super sweaty to anyone but the elite. Demoralizing and morale breaking. Not to mention Destiny 2 pvp on twitch is boring to watch with streamers steamrolling players who can’t fight back.

Destiny 2 is good game for the newbies. The problem is that it is terrible sequel for the fans. It changed the things that a lot of people liked in D1 so the developers can say that this is the next game. Now they try to make it more like D1 but it feels broken in its core - there is obviously no one in Bungie who has the guts or the talent to bring the old ways back. I'm really disappointed with this game. The funny thing is that i wasted a lot of time playing it and hopping for things to change and now most of my D1 friends are not there. My clan has officially more than 40 players but actually only 3-4 of them are still playing. The PvP that was the blood of D1 is suffering the most - it feels so unbalanced, not rewarding, over the top sweaty, laggy and pointless that it makes me sick. Not mentioning the extremely weak weapon damage, the team shooting mechanics, the 30 FPS, the stupid level design, the 4 vs 4 profane idea, the stupid mechanic to have the chance to get some good items only if you win /fundamentally broken idea for quickplay mode/ and etc... The ONLY reason this game still exists in my PS4 list and possibly will not be deleted fFOR NOW is because there is no other FPS that is PvP and PVE hybrid. Unfortunately Anthem and Division 2 will not be competition for this game because they don't want to fight against Activision by been FPS games.

Best ever for Destiny 2? Yes. Best ever for Destiny overall? NO. Destiny 1 Year 3 is superior.

Ive found that most of the people saying its the best right now either left D1 preTTK. Or just never played it. Pvp people are just pumped because their bad 4 stack can outplay 4 decent randos. D1 you couldnt get away with that in the crucible. 1 person could run your whole fireteam into dust.

These are all fair points. Whether they are an inheritance from the mess that d2 launch was or just bad design is important though. Forsaken was good, it added a good story and improved a lot of stuff, and it felt like a step in the right direction. Then decisions are made that can only be considered totally baffling - add more exotics but throttle the drop rate - fine, but duplicate protection? Non existant. Even with duplicate protection way after it should have been added (IE, from the get-go), it dosnt work, ive had 4 duplicates and no new exotics since then...which is outright demoralising to the point that I play maybe half as much as I used to. PVP - some love it right now but frankly I feel its a mess. Just wait to see what its like from tomorrow, you won't be able to move without a OHK from a grenade launcher. It's not going to be fun because when you're adding stuff like that you're taking the ability to couter play out of the equation. It's basically whoever sees who first gets the kill...fun. Not even going to mention all the cheating in Comp. The Thunderlord quest was so underwhelming it was a sin. Me and my mate were completing it and were like 'wait...there's more right? surely there's more?...nope'. Whisper was a great quest, why did they make such a half hearted thunder quest? Baffling I don't even play gambit anymore. I only need the 3 random drop items but I hate the fact a title is locked behind pure RNG. I've done all the hard bits, all the super kills etc, but now the thing that will get me the title is....luck. Thanks but no thanks. Honestly I hope things keep going in the right direction but I just don't think the next few 'expansions' are going to be big enough to correct all these things that keep going wrong, plus the things that keep going wrong as we go. I hate to say this but when Division 2 launches I think D2 is going to be much less populated place all of a sudden.

I don't understand why people keep putting money into this game and expect it to actually improve. Bungie has proven time and again that they have no intrest in providing a good quality product. So why waste your money hoping for a different result when you know you'll be disappointed.

You missed "Loading"... I think the expansion title should be called "Loading" instead of "Forsaken".

The collections confused me. I thought we’d be able to reacquire anything and I dismantled everything at first. It wasn’t until later where I saw I couldn’t get any of the Y2 gear back. Why can’t they just make a standardized roll of each piece of Y2 gear for collections? Everything else that drops in the wild will have random stats, but for collections there’s a consistent roll on each piece of gear.

No mention of matchmaking changes in this update. [b][i][u]shocking.[/u][/i][/b]The status quo is completely exploitative! Bungie doesn’t care so long as the streamers get fed with easy welfare handout style matches against opponents who can’t fight back.

In terms of content, RPG elements and playability? Yes. In terms of the quality of matchmaking in PVP, and the progression system/infusion economy in PVE? No. Overall, the game is in a good place right now. Which is why 1.3 million people show up to play PVE everyday, which is TWICE the number of people who did during Age of Triumph. But no game is perfect....or ever will be perfect. The game has a few outstanding issues that need to be addressed. Skill-based matchmaking needs to be added to PVP. Because the current system is alienating average players, low-skill players, and solo players. Also Bungie needs to just swallow their pride and listen to the community where "Enhancement cores" and the infusion economy is concerned. They doubled-down on a bad idea, that is throwing sand into the basic reward loop of the game. TLDR: The game is basically suffering from only 2 significant problems. A MM system in PVP that caters to top players and clan members at the expense of everyone else. Plus---in PVE---you have an "Investment Team" that is trying to rebrand the game as a super-grindy MMO, when the community KEEPS MAKING IT PLAIN that they see the game as a looter-shooter, and want to play the game that way. So this war that the IT is waging with the community and the game's core identity needs to stop.

Are you high? Do I still prefer d1? Yes, mostly because trials. But besides that d2 is superior in almost every other way. Just the quality of life changes make it better, and there's actually things to do now. there's titles, pinnacle weapons, eververse bounties where you can actually get "Almost" everything from her without paying (in d1 it was pay or eff off). And things don't get nerfed to oblivion. graviton, vigilance,warcliff, whisper,colony, mida, nova warp, arc strider, blade barrage and more are still as strong as they have been since they dominated the meta, other things just got stronger. In d1 arc blade, hammer titans, self rez were all gutted because they were too strong, ice breaker , last word, thorn, gally, universal remote, no land beyond, special weapons as a whole were fooked! I respect you opinion that's obviously being looked at through rose tinted glasses but you shouldn't say dumb stuff like this.
