how to combat lag switching?
just got done playing a guy who lag switched 2 games in a row i reported him but is their anything i can do to get him back and prevent him from doing it in the future?

There’s nothing you can do. Network manipulation takes place on their end.

Get Ethernet cable,cut a certain a coloured wire,put an inline on/off toggle switch on said wire,reassemble.never done it it my life but that's one way,I am joking but that is a lag switch.

Honestly there’s not much you can do . Thank bungie for their be p2p that broadcasts your ip to everyone else . As long as it’s setup like it is this will always be a problem

5 RepliesReport then block on your console reporting and blocking tools for your network (PSN or XBox Live). Will never play with/against again! Bungie will do nothing, period. Footnote: make sure you don’t state a gamer tag, Bungie will be all over you like white on rice!

For one, you can leave matchmaking after a match you notice anybody in whos connection you dont trust. Then re-enter matchmaking. You wont have to play that person the next game. I never see the stutter gang at the top in Destiny. Lagging players in Destiny aren't like lagging players in CoD where 8 out of 10 highlight reels will be someone with serious lag.

5 RepliesIt's PEER-TO-PEER......LAG = Destiny bad design. Too many people thinking it's lagswitching, but it's simply peer-to-peer problem. People getting kicked from competitive matches = also peer-to-peer problem.

However lag switching is manipulation also. People can downgrade their connection after joining the lobby which is what smart cheaters will do. I am not a PvP player but I know how networks work in great depth. I know how people DDoS or use lag for their advantage. Bungie design of P2P is cost cutting and that's why it will never be taken seriously in eSports. It's just a bragging arena.

You can leave the match, Bungie doesn't have any way of stopping it and they don't seem to care.
