Refer a Friend Not working

I bought my son the forsaken legendary collection two days ago and the refer a friend webpage is saying that he needs to purchase forsaken and create a character. He created an account and started playing the game yesterday. This is the third FULL copy of this game that I bought.I feel like I am getting scammed by Bungie.I even bought the game through this website. • Started a new topic: Refer a friend(2 Replies))

  • Here shows the second link I had created before December. You can see the link is created. When the “New Player” clicks confirm the link disappears from the Veteran and the New Player is presented with only the “Confirm” process https://imgur.com/gallery/DO9s6Hi Bungie you need to first stop being so vague with the steps included in this and secondly find a resolve for the situation

  • Has anything been resolved with this? Having the same issue with my New Player who gets the "Confirmation" button and then it just stops. We have gamed since his Day 1, I was in The Farm when he had to kick me from his Fireteam because he couldnt start the next mission and we have not had a single thing.

Having the exact same problem and as of last night my link with my friend is "disconnected." I originally accepted the link and on my friend, the Vets end, he was met with the same message "Waiting for player to purchase... blah blah." I had done both those things so we figured hey maybe BNET needs time to update... so time we gave it... Well now he doesn't even see that message anymore... and on MY end, it's gone back to "Confirm Link" and when I click it guess what.... it says "Successfully created Link" ANNNNNDDDDDDD.....nothing happens. The page refreshes and I can still "accept" the link. To be clear I accepted the link literally 3 weeks ago. The fact it's telling me to link again indicates a serious problem considering there's a 7 day window to be a "new player"

I would also like to throw my hat into this issue. Wife and I set up the link two weeks ago when I bought Forsaken. I bought her copy and as the veteran, I sent her the link. She confirmed the link and then we started our downloads. We played together a day after the purchase so we've both logged into Forsaken, we both have our character boosts available. Fast forward to today, we've progressed to Io in the base campaign, and I notice that we haven't been getting boosted xp, nor do we have any friend quests. Go to the farm and Hawthorne doesn't have anything for either of us. I log into my bungie.net account and it says that she has to confirm her Forsaken purchase. Like KnightMare, when she clicks on the confirm purchase, it says "Successfully created link" and that's it. My bungie account has no mention of her in my recruit a friend page, whereas she has my name in hers. Hopefully something can be done to get this sorted out. *EDIT* Just a thought, since this recruit a friend campaign is timed around the release of Forsaken, does this only apply to Forsaken content? Will the quest pop up once we both hit 30, and begin the Forsaken expansion? Since the first objective is to hit level 50, not 20 like the original RAF system

      • I also got the game for myself and two fo my sons so that we could play together and do the special quests etc. However, I found out that I must be a veteran in the game (played for 7 days) in order to refer them. Since we downloaded and setup bungie accounts at almost the same time... we have only minutes or perhaps seconds between each account to do the referrals... I wish there was a better way to contact bungie and ask for help.

        • Hi. Thanks for your report. Have you sent him an email to link up? You might need to send it to a different email for it to connect correctly. Once you both are linked, you'll need to sign out of the game and sign back in, then visit Hawthorne.
