Back in Season 3 I only saw two Redrix's Claymores, ever. And one was a dude in the Tower. In Season 4 in every match I play at least one player is always using Luna's Howl, if not more. I've even seen several Not Forgottens. Why is this season's pinnacle weapons so much more common than last season's? Was the Claymore just not very good?

2 RepliesYou're joking right? We had a different ttk back then, a mind-boggling ranking system with the most annoying lose streak I've ever seen in a game and we had trials. Also, all the people who got the redrix legit never used it. After asking and trying the broadsword myself I see why. It's crap. Most of the time I have outlaw active but the gun still reloads slow +the default fire rate is no fun. I got luna and working on not forgotten now, these are somewhat worth the headache of comp and will still be useful down the road.

1 ReplyThey made it easier to level up I comp this season. Also lots of people paid for it.
-
Getting to 2100 now is as difficult as getting to 1050 was in season 3
-
Comp rankings are easier to climb this year and because quickplay is connection based you have a greater chance to play with/against better players who may have Luna.
-
Comp was complete garbage in season 3, so not as many people had the patience to put themselves through it
-
No Trials in season 4 = means no trials gear/ornaments to chase = more people spending more time in competitive = more luna & NF.

Edited by despicable-stev: 11/16/2018 2:12:13 PMDue to the changes made to comp . Remember there was no radar back then so it was MUCH HARDER
-
2 RepliesBecause it's not really that hard to get in the first place, at least compared to how hard Claymore might've been to get last Season. Ontop of Comp. being less "unenjoyable" due to a multitude of changes going into Forsaken, so there are more people playing this time around. And while I'd like to believe it only makes up a small percentage of players with Luna's and even Not Forgotten, as I don't have any way of knowing the actual percentages of recovered accounts, account recoveries are being done at a much higher rate than in the previous season for Claymore. If you're a good player solo queueing, the quest will probably only take you about 10 total hours of in-game time at most(this includes queue/loading times) from what I've heard. And it's actually better to solo the quest, unless you want to get hitting 2100 out of the way early, since the previous quest steps are more easily done at lower ranks.

2 RepliesBecause despite popular belief in forums, comp isn't that bad...
-
1 ReplyBecause they made 2100 to easy to get, when 80% of a lobby is running around with a crucible pinnacle weapon, something is wrong, the amount of time it took to get claymore was fine but terrible people complained because they're entitled to everything apperenty...
-
Player base is much bigger than last year so I'd expect it to be more common.
-
2 RepliesIf you look at the ranks in Comp there are 6. Fabled is number 4, just past the mid point on your way to the top. So if ranks are a good indicator of skill and you can achieve the rank equivalent to your skill half the player base can get to fabled by themselves. If they aren’t good enough for that still a good proportion can do it with a team. Of course this isn’t taking in the points system. Which favours early progression and gradually gets more and more punishing.
-
Luna's is better and it's also easier to get fabled this season

Lunas is not as hard as claymore was to get.. any player with a 1.5kda should be able to reach it.
-
Because its easy to get, much easier than redrix last season.
-
Because Claymore had different Kill Clip, Luna’s is the best Primary in the game
-
2100 glory isnt hard
-
best primary in close range with good aim no bloom because wow the concept of your bullets being accurate is dangerous to bungie
-
claymore was not only worse but was harder to obtain.

Edited by Urban_Ironside: 11/15/2018 9:04:00 PMWell for one, redrix wasn't really that amazing of a weapon in pvp. Second, they brought in really good weapons this time! Forsaken brought a lot of people in/back to the game and having radar back on top of trials being removed for a full season, a lot of the higher tier pvp players of course are going to flock to comp for these weapons

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 11/15/2018 8:36:17 PMThe luna's grind is much more achievable than the claymore was. I'm still on the grind, I'm not saying its not hard, just that its not as hard as the claymore.
-
Redrix isnt a great PvP weapon to be honest. It is however a great PvE or gambit gun as you can keep desperado running. When the perk is on it is truely brutal. Also it's easier to get to 2100 this season due to the loss streak removal
-
You also have to keep in mind, the people that have the Luna play more often(on average). The more casual players might be waiting on Black Armory, so the percentage is out of whack a bit. Also Not Forgotten is probably a better comparison to Redrix last year.
-
Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten are very, very good. Everyone wants them and all of the paid carries are super common now. It's not really that hard to get them as well. Redrix's is more work, for a slow firing pulse rifle. With all the options such as bygones or dust rock blues, not many people want it anymore.
