We should be able to buy them. Or buy the actual MOD we want.

2 RepliesWill trade my 2500 useless baryon bough for mod components...
-
1 ReplyBuy blue weapons from collections. An dismantle
-
5 RepliesI initially thought we were going to be able to dismantle a weapon drop and put it's mod into our inventory if it had one. We need Gunsmith Day back and it can be reworked to include mod components as well.
-
4 RepliesSolution: rename them "Enhancement Components". Problem solved.
-
The only mod components I actually have are all the mods I stockpiled before the DLC came out.

24 RepliesEdited by countycheese770: 11/15/2018 11:43:37 PMFor some strange reason Bungie believes if people are able to buy certain things that once they acquire them they’ll stop playing. I play the The Division as well as Destiny. In The Division you basically are allowed to hold (nearly) unlimited currency, buy ANY mod you want, craft ANYTHING you have a blueprint for as many times as you want until you get the perfect roll and tons of people including myself still play the shit out of it and can’t wait for the sequel to come out in March. The Division is still a grindy ass game but it at least allows to you purchase/craft nearly anything. I don’t know about other people but once I get a roll/perks I want I can’t wait to run right into a mission start wrecking shit with said weapon. I don’t say “cool, got that now I’m done”. WTF, apparently Bungie believes this to be the mentality of their player base. Otherwise there is no reason NOT to allow people to purchase mod components or ANYTHING else, as well as capping currency. Bungie thinks their player base is a bunch of idiots and sometimes they’re not far off. Bungie raised the max of glimmer to 100k but then turned around and raised the purchase price of things 5x. People were excited, “ya we can hold 100k glimmer”, dumbass, it now cost 5x as much to buy something then it did when glimmer max was 25k. And people fell for that shit. 🤦♀️. So in affect, they didn’t change anything except the numbers. Back to the point, allowing people to purchase things such as mod components will do NOTHING except allow us guardians to enjoy weapons/armor quicker than grinding for them, we’ll still play the damn game, that’s the point of buying mod components is so we can enjoy them and just wreck whatever comes our way. I don’t know which direction Bungie is going with Destiny and I don’t think even Bungie knows where they’re going with it yet. But Bungie seems to be taking the fun out of the game a little bit, then they put a little fun back in the game, then they take a little bit out. Point is a video game is supposed to be fun (fun is subjective to the individual) but they’re turning it into work. Grinding can be fun, hell, the first year of Destiny one was a grind fest (if you didn’t play year one you have no fukking clue) like grinding for planetary materials just to upgrade a perk or two on your weapon or armor piece (ya shit didn’t come unlocked with all the perks like they do now). But you can still make the game fun and exciting without making it too much like a job. Streamers don’t go to work and put in an 8-12 hour day at the warehouse or at the office then come home and play destiny for a few hours. They sit on their ass ALL day playing video games telling YOU what to do 🤦♀️. Just think about the masses not the few.

3 RepliesI’m surprised this hasn’t been addressed. I’d like to see something in the game that makes it more clear how to get mod components. Heck you know what? Give the gunsmith bounties, each bounty gives a mod component, and give maybe only 3 bounties a day like patrol vendors, since 5 a day may seem too much for players with three characters. Regardless of the numbers that seems like a logical path to take.
-
Let's keep this going guys and gals! Bungie see us!
-
The should have the gunsmith sell them. They want us to waste our time running around the planets collecting materials so we can use on vendors. Use that to get engrams and get weapons/gear from them. Then you have to be lucky for rng to give you at least 1 mod component. Is ridiculous
-
turned into a casino style huge RNG grind for every single one bungie is killin fun with these reward systems
-
18 RepliesMods are so rare I just don’t bother using them. Absolutely stupid game design
-
Mods are a joke and typical bunghole trolling.
-
Yeah the economy in this game sucks
-
I really don't think I have gotten but just a few mod components since the change maybe just maybe enough to purchase one or two. Bungie said they would be rare but that is an understatement. Kind of like exotics rare is a huge understatement and at the rate I am going I might have all of the exotics for this dlc by March or April and I play a good bit. I do some repeats but still lack all of the exotics that i have actually wanted and that is not counting the earned ones from quests.

10 RepliesI hate to suggest more bounties on this game, but Banshee should have daily bounties worth mod components. 2 PvE, 2 PvP, 1 Gambit; all revolving around different ways to shoot things in the face.

Edited by Ghostfoxx105: 11/16/2018 3:50:26 PMAny ideas are better than this horrid setup we have now. #feedback

3 Replies500 Weapon parts = 1 Mod Component We burn through so much gear and weapons that those numbers should be easy to achieve IMO.
-
Edited by Systamatik: 11/16/2018 1:43:23 PMPull a bunch of Blues out of Collections and dismantle. Mods components will drop.
-
11 RepliesI get you're one of those awful xurner types. Gross.
-
14 RepliesThe funniest thing about the whole mod system is that it barely makes a difference when you have one equipped... Mods are just another failed system as far as I am concerned.
-
12 RepliesIt might just be me, but other than Back Up Mag, I cant find a use for or even tell a difference on most mods. Not saying they dont do anything, just that most of my gear either came equipped with what it has on it, or I didnt bother putting a mod on it after the first few. Now, just like Y1, I have a ton of mods "just in case"....
-
1 ReplyPve ammo synths.
-
4 RepliesJust buy that one gun that has about a 10-15% chance of dismantling into a mod component from the collections. I do agree though.
-
You can buy the actual mod you want... just have to rely on RNG. However, you are correct. You should be able to buy mod components since they took away blue mods to forge them. Still don’t understand why... ??? Not only that, buuut they should drop more frequently on gunsmith packages. Banshee also needs to get off his highway robbery 100 mats for a package. All of this improves the mod system. They took one step forward but two steps backs “improving the mod system”. You improved them, yes, but too bad you can’t get them.
You can buy blue energy weapons that are primaries and year 1, dismantle them and they can give you a mod component. Spend about 27 shards, get back 18. Spend 2250 glimmer, get back 1125. You get atleast one per group of nine this way. You. An also do the old masterwork core farm from brother Vance. Nonetheless, you shouldn’t have to do ANY of this just to get something to drop that should regularly be apart of the game.
Exotics mods should be a thing, like really good OP perks for weapons.
