Drop Rate for Osprey is non existent
I have run 5+ hours of Strange Terrain with my three 600 character since Tuesdays. Got a high score of 267K, put the emblem on, ran 8+ runs per character, with Boons, Fire Team medallions and various Exotic ghosts. I've tried fast runs, slow runs and high score runs.
No Opsrey. I have seen 5 other people get it, but not me.
When Warmind first came out, I ran it for 8+ hours and got nothing either.
So WTF is going on Bungie. I've probably put more time in this one Night Fall than in some raids.
Getting really fed up with your inverse RNG - the More you Play the less you get.
Edit on my 95th or maybe 100th run, it finally dropped for me and another guy. I hate this crap..

My friend and I were doing the strike for the osprey, i got mine before him and i told him i would stay until he got it, it took about 4-5 more hours and during that span of time i got my second one and at the 5th hour he finally got it

2 RepliesBut but but Bungie said. They said they increased the drop rate everytime you run it. They even put it in the TWAB so it must be a major difference in the drop rate. They said they were listening and they made changes, surely they had to be major changes. Bungie would not punk us by leading us to believe they made major changes so we continue to grind only to find out later they only increased the drop rate chance by .0004 each time you run it. Bungie would not do this to us because they are listening and they respect us and and and...........

I planned on going for this one until I saw it required the Osprey. I rarely do Nightfalls. I don’t care about scores and it has no matchmaking. Also, it randomly says I have never received 2 other weapons despite that I know I have. I may go for the long term and try to get Chronicler depending on how that plays out with future releases.

[/quote] I feel for you... it took me 60 nightfall runs to get the DFA back when it first came out. Honestly I wasn't even happy when I got it... just relieved the nightmare was over. Making drops that rare is demoralizing. No one should have to spend 5 hours running the same event over and over and over just for certain drop. The Osprey was the last Breytech weapon I needed and I got it on my first run this week. Relief. I have no advice, just sympathy because I've been there and it sucks! On another note, it's the end of the season and I still don't have the Shards of Galanor for my hunter yet. It's frustrating AF and it's a huge turn off to the game. Funny thing is I'm in the top 1% in terms of time playing (https://www.wastedondestiny.com/ ) and yet I don't have that drop. I really hate that they took the ability to get Exotics we don't have yet from Xur via the fated engrams... just stupid!

1 ReplyCurrently just did 29 runs all over 160k with a couple 200k runs and everyone else has had it drop in their first 5-10 runs. One teammate got it on his first and didn't know what it was. Its all i need to get my wayfarer seal and I'm heartbroken

5 RepliesDefinition of boredom, right there OP. I tend to try and avoid being bored whilst playing video games. If you can do high level activities in the game without this rare loot, what are you then going to do with it, if it drops? All the same content, again, made fractionally easier by the fruits of your grinding? Only for it to be useless or 'blown up' by The Caballs, and drip fed back under a new blaze of publicity at the next expansion launch? Players should resist this cynical manipulation of of human weakness to extend playability...

From my knowledge the Year 1 Nightfall rewards have less of a chance to drop compared to Forsaken NF rewards.

I wouldn’t worry about the 100,000 threshold. We then did like three runs for the wardens hand canon and one of us got that one. I would just do speed runs and try and make it easier on you if you’re farming. It’ll come. Edit: just read you got it. My bad for not reading it all.

3 RepliesIt was the only thing i needed for Wayfarer Title. 100k+ every Nightfall but somehow it eluded me. Took at least 5+ hours to get. Did 1 high score run, then quick runs after. No handicap, Arc Singe, Heavyweight, Momentum, Wardcliff Coil boss melt at spawn.

I’ve gotten extremely luck with NF loot except Osprey! I got Mindbender 1st run, DFA 1st run, horror pulse 1st run. You get the point but the Osprey, nope. Never seen it drop

It took me 37 tries before it finally dropped for me. Good luck.

Took me 27 runs. First 17 with friends. Everyone I ran with got it at least once. The next 10 were lfg. Don’t know how many were rewarded in that run. Had to keep replacing members so I’m guessing they were getting it also.

Took me...12-13 runs to get it. Did Arc Singe, Heavyweight, Momentum, 0 power handicap quick runs after getting the 100k+ with a run using Thunderlord which gets more more bang for your buck (as in heavy ammo bricks) compared to Wardcliff.
