Tips for an old noob

Hey all, D1 player FINALLY back for D2. I jumped right into Forsaken and have been running through whatever task I felt was right for the day (over the weekend it was giving Cayde his moment with the AoS quest, this week I've been checking out the Dreaming City). My light level is a pretty consistent 550+, but I'm not looking for raids yet (I think I owe it to my future teammates to come in fully polished). I'm trying to tackle the Sleeper quest currently (seems like a must for endgame bosses, although it'll hurt to switch out my Prometheus). My question is this--What else should I be checking out currently, to really get up to speed? I jumped into my first Blind Well run yesterday, is that a safe bet? Are there other weapons I should be looking for outside of Sleeper (and yeah, I know that a good player can make use of worse weapons, but I still want to be prepared if a raid team asks for certain things), and others things to do in the endgame? Thanks in advance, glad to be back!

  • I highly recommend a Dreaded Venture which can be found in Gambit. Dreaded Venture is a kinetic sniper (in the primary slot); If you use snipers this one could become a well used friend.

  • Whisper or Sleeper are your best bets for most raid bosses. Milestones will definitely get you up to speed. It feels slow at first but it'll start adding chunks to your power level in the long run.

  • I’d get started on Whisper of the Worm. When it’s the weekend, go to Io and wait for the Taken public event in the middle of the map. When it comes up, there is a big Taken portal you have to go through. Then prepare yourself for a huge running/jump puzzle which results in going through a series of rooms fighting ridiculous amounts of OP Taken. In the end there are three bosses which you have to kill and then you get the gun. Very worth it! Would recommend having a full team of three!

  • If you're on Xbox you can play with me. Also if you didn't play the past seasons it's obligatory that you watch Badass Gaming's what you missed in Y1 of Destiny 2 video. So yeah
