ammo drops don't match weapon types.
On PC, I have 1 primary 2 energy and 3 heavy.
Sniper in 1 that green ammo fills
Auto rifle in 2 the white ammo fills
And grenade launcher in three that purple fills
Slots 1&2 use the wrong ammo type for replinishing ammo.

For D2 ammo is linked to the weapon and not the slot. It is just coincidence that "heavy" still just takes "heavy" ammo.
