Now, before y'all start throwing flaming hammers at me, the Warlock really ain't as good as Nova Warp makes it seem.
Start with melees: Warlock clearly melees the slowest out of all classes. Hell, I can throw a punch a solid 0.20 seconds (or more) before my enemy, and they'll have plenty of time to melee me twice and kill me. I lose every melee engagement to both Hunters and Titans. Yes, I'm aware Warlocks supposedly have longer melee range, but that just ain't true. Hunters and Titans, mostly Hunters, have INSANE melees. They can literally lock onto you from across the room and melee you. That's not a -blaming!- knife, that's a spear right there.
Supers are, however, a little more interesting. Now, I ain't saying Warlock supers are bad; even though they kind of are, but they just are not at all as powerful as other classses' supers.
Now don't get the wrong idea, Nova Warp slays, but one good super isn't enough to justify the other flaws of Warlocks.
Dawnblade for starters; it runs out faster than you can say shoulder charge, and the damage is horrible. Not against ordinary guardians of course, except Titans with that darn One-Eyed Mask, that sucker takes two blows to melt. Against other supers, One-Eyed Mask will seem like nothing. Takes a few solid direct hits to kill an enemy with a roaming super, ex Sunbreaker.
Chaos Reach; boy oh boy. That super is trash. Not only is there a thicc Warlock and strong beam of light covering up the entire screen, making it that much harder to aim, it also doesn't deal a whole lot of damage to your enemies. Ordinary guardians will gladly walk away with few scrathes after have been hit by it. The damage is just pure awful.
Nova Warp! (oh boy). So, like I said before, it's a great super, but what makes this and all the other supers combined so bad, is the damage resistance (or health increase). Shotgun to the face with followup melee and you're out, but if you're not the shotgun type (even though everyone is..) don't worry, you and your buddy can kill any warlock supers pretty much by shooting him or her (or whatever you want to be, I ain't judging) with your pulse rifles or whatever for like 3 seconds and BAM! Warlock no more.
Unlike Warlock supers, Titan and Hunters are practically impossible to kill in their super state. I guess it's understandable for a hunter to take less damage when throwing their blade barrage, but when they take a sniper bullet between their eyes, I expect them to not die after they've thrown their knives. (Literally, I shoot them when they super, and then after they've thrown the knives, they die.)
I don't even know if it's worth getting into Titan supers? I mean, they pretty much can't die. And they have infinite shoulder charges. And infinite overshield. And titan skate. You know what, I'm going to save those issues for another post.
But to me it's clear, that Warlock Supers, as well as playstyles, aren't very good.. It's a Titan era right know, but honestly, Warlock falls at the bottom of the Class list.
Please Bungo, buff Warlocks, so that the true master race, once and for all, can triumph.
Thank you. *applause and shouting from the readers*
I tried to be as comedic about it as I could, to minimize death threats. Hopefully it'll work somewhat
One thing I can agree on is chaos reach. I cannot see where I am aiming because of the angle. They need to fix that.

1 Replylol melees: same for all classes. Hunter's the slowest if you used the ranged melee and then melee again for a kill. Otherwise they are the same the warlock however has the most tracking/aim assist out of them all. supers: dawnblade runs out quickly if you spam the air dodge and use your attack. Similar to sunbreaker and striker. nova bomb: sucks. Everyone agrees it needs a buff, asap. Chaos reach isnt trash. It mels everything that touches, and theres no -blam!-ing way to survive it, which is fine. The super energy perk is bugged, but it will be fixed soon. Nova warp: broken. And no, shotgun + melee doesnt kill it unless its weak. all supers (except golden gun) are hard to combat because energy weapons dont do bonus damage now. No special ammo sniper can OHK a super with damage resistance, so dont bother sniping one titans arent unstoppable. One eyed mask and ursa furiosa are broken exotics, but the super themsleves arent broken hunter supers: goldie can be countered by hiding for 10 seconds or shooting at it (no armor). arcstrider got a HUGE nerf so you can run away from it. tether is garbage and irrelevant, spectral blades is garbage and lasts nothing. titan skating isnt a thing on console. I know you play PC, but thats a macro issue. Sorry. Shoulder charge isnt broken. Infinite overshields? nope The issue is you: you havent played the game that much, and didnt play d1.

Nova warp is OP BB one shots supers but not a roaming super

In all fairness warlocks in my hands are the strongest. I have more fun and get way more kills ability wise than the other classes. Just my opinion but I feel things should be more balanced and fair across the board like damage numbers, health pools etc no need to have one better than the other

2 RepliesWarlocks are actually pretty good in comparison to all 3 other classes in pvp if you think about it, because of what you are capable of doing if you practice or are already good. Titans, well lets be real, they have a ONE HIT MELEE ON ALL SUB CLASSES! Titans are also at a pretty good spot too and I like that they are good. Hunters are where the problem is at to be honest, because the only thing that is really good about them is that they have a kickass super and easy to learn jump. BUT ALL CLASSES HAVE THE SAME SPRINT SPEED?! I thought that hunters were supposed to be the flash of the game! Not the warlocks or the titans! And get this, hunters never had a 1 hit kill melee or grenade in destiny 2. On top of that, the dodge ability, while pretty cool are also very lackluster in terms of capability. Anyhow, thats my little rant on the whole class balancing thing, I know i didn't address all the issues because im trying to go to bed but i would like to hear what you guys think. ltr im sleepin

3 RepliesNovawarp is 20% higher KD average than the median KD average. It is literally the strongest subclass since sunbreaker prenerf at taken king launch. Warlocks are not struggling. They are 27% higher than the lowest subclass, and 6% or .1 KD higher than the second highest sunclass. They are also currently the most popular subclass in PvP. Warlock is far and away the strongest Class in the game. I hope the nerfs are done well for Novawarp, and they unnerf Phoenix Dive. The only reason I decided to switch to Titan is because they nerfed Dawnblade. Dawnblade was my baby...

1 ReplyYes. Warlocks are still the weakest....but they are in a MUCH better position right now than they were a few months ago. The new supers are a big help....and the buffs to grenades and ability cooldowns have been a stealth-buff to Warlocks that worked towards a better class balance. The only things that still need buffs are Nova Bomb (which is still an empty husk of what it used to be in D1); and Stormtrance (same problem). Everything else is in a pretty good place right now.

4 RepliesHa ha ha ha ha. That’s funny. Warlocks the weakest class? You’ve obviously never played a hunter. I’m a hunter main and warlocks are plain better. They have a OHK ability, their supers are better than any hunter supers (except blade barrage) and you grenades are all better. Warlocks are plain and simply a good class and definitely are not the worst.

2 RepliesBB Hunters and Nova Warp Warlocks are OP. Nova melee is OP. Everything else is too weak and needs buff.
Not sarcasm
-
4 RepliesGreat thoughts. For me personally Warlocks have been the easiest to use in PvP mainly because I will only use stormcaller and have yet to unlock Nova Warp. My primary is Hunter and wow let me tell you, I did by a lot of warlocks haha. When I activate my golden gun and killed right after a handheld supernova... awesome lol. I don’t know, personally I feel each class a really strong super and then very mediocre ones.

Have you been on twitch when Gigs plays pvp on a warlock.....

5 RepliesEdited by AlphaLion42: 11/5/2018 1:22:30 AMYou have the best melee in the game. Most damage, most range, easiest hit detection....so easy that you don’t even have to be facing your enemy. So I have no clue to what your talking about in that regard. Secondly, you can’t say you’re the worst class in the game when the top two supers right now in PVP are nova warp and Dawnblade. Blade barrage would be third Bc it’s a one and done. Now that being said, do I think they are OP and should be nerfed? No. No I don’t..... not to mention I’m a hunter main. Yea that’s right, a hunter main supporting the NO NERF to Nova Warp. See we do exist! Lol Fix the kills thru walls on ALL supers and call it a day. Each class as their advantages and their disadvantages. So people should try and accept that and understand this is how you make creative counters to other classes. Just get real with the melee thing Guardian, I just couldn’t let that slide. It’s just INCORRECT. Have a great evening.

3 RepliesYou forgot the satire/sarcasm tag at the end. Warlock is by far one of the easiest to use in pvp. Nova warp and its subclass path is amazing, no explanation needed. Slowva bomb is a great super for grouped enemies, the charge grenade is great for territory control/ high damage to 2/3 people. The last path is just an easy spam/panic super. Dawnblade bottom path can have one of the longest supers in game because you keep getting energy back every kill (and the sword is usually a one hit) just dont spam your super. The upper path gives you a dodge for great mobility. The well of radiance path is ok if you like to be a support player but thats op to personal preference. Stormcaller is good for small groups of enemies, it will melt them if you chose your battles smart. Dont go for big groupes, youll get melted. The grenades on stormcaller are good for smaller groupes and larger groupes of enemies, they chain lightning between enemies which makes all enemies weak enough for a one shot with most weapons. Chaos reach is a ranged and powerfull super that doesnt require you to be close yet can do great damage to enemies. The only thing you need to use it properly is spacial awareness
-
Warlocks aren’t weak as a whole. Pretty much top and bottom tree for voidwalker and stormcaller are absolute garbage. Stormcaller is tickle me Elmo And novabomb gets jumped over or you kill yourself.
-
Really,I more scared of another good warlock player then a whole fire team of hunters...why because warlocks can close the distance with ease..kill 1 or multiple people with just a Grenades or other class ability with ease..heal them selves or allies near a flag..not to mention the nova warp super don’t need to explain that.. even the 33 days of crucible I played in D-1 warlocks were king..were you around when voidfang vestments with firebolts and thorn were running rampant?
-
I refuse to take uninformed arguments seriously and yours is definitely uninformed.
-
1 ReplyAttunement of chaos is soooo bad. I dont even k ow where to start. Ionic traces go their own way Super is too short and cannot be saved, Super blocks your line of sight while not highlighting your enemy Super hangs you in the air static and immobile Ionic traces are arbitrary. It's an absolute mess of a subclass.
-
TLDR: You’re doing it wrong.
-
Warlocks have always been easy to use in PvP. Each class has a niche and fits it well currently.
-
Thx for the laugh
-
Warlock main disagrees. Nothing needs to change except bug fix in chaos reach lol
-
Nice bait bro!
-
🤔😁😂😂😂

3 RepliesHave to disagree my dude. I main hunter they get little to no damage resistance whilst in supers other than blade which is just in the same place as a warlocks nova bomb is. Both warlocks and titans have one shots other than supers and pretty much all the hunter grenades are turd. The only sticky grenade just falls off other guardians. As for nova warp that thing in the hands of any semi competent destroys teams, people across the room or round corners. The hunters best pvp exotic the wormhusk got nerfed more or less immediately as well. Honestly though these are just mine and my clan mates complaints. Always seems to be that other players are invulnerable using certain things and when we use them it’s insta death. Most likely it’s problems with the system bungie have set up though I do agree titans are set up to be op atm
-
2 RepliesIt’s the weakest class period since destiny 1 coming from a veteran warlock player EVERYTHING ON THE WARLOCK NEEDS A BUFF
-
Warlocks have never been so good. Nova warp gave back the blink and good neutral game to the warlock. If only storm or dawn blade had blink. That would be mental and I would switch to a warlock main for crucible. I love solar and arc warlocks in strikes and Dawnblade is an epic super.
