Why do different classes use different armour?
What stops a hunter from using a warlock's helmet? Why can you only wear specific armour?
Are the armour pieces just designed specifically or can they technically be used by all?
Hypothetically speaking what would happen if a hunter tried to use peregrine grieves?

Other classes wouldn't be able to use other class exotics. They are specially designed to enhance a classes abilities. Rezzyl Azir wore a hunter's cloak though. Classes could probably wear another's armor, but they probably wouldn't move as easily, or maybe they would.

Think of it like this titan boots can break stone if dropped Hunter boots are super lightweight to avoid making alot of sound.......the armor is made for the class they serve. Titan armor is bog and bulky and heavy for the up close fighting titans do Hunter armor is light and quiet because of the stealth nd speed hunters need to survive and warlock are somewhere in the middle bit with augments to let them harness the raw light better.

I think it’s because different classes have different natural physical traits that are not affected by the light and the armour enhances those traits, for example Zavala was able to lift a cabal slug shotgun without the light.

1 ReplyJust game systems, there doesn't need to be lore or some real reason for game mechanics. Like Ghost projections, why on earth would you want a big glowing symbol above the one thing that can kill you.

It helps people identify what classes they are up against in crucible.

I think the classes work in canon more like army divisions (navy, army etc.), so there isn't anything stopping a hunter from using peregrine greaves or armamentarium, but they generally won't do it. Similar to how you wouldn't give a good infantry captain an airplane.

Pretty sure light is attuned to classes, and exotics only work with certain classes. But it’s happened before. A warlock could wear a titan helmet but I’m sure it’s not made for them.

They realized One Eyed Mask would need to be nerfed into the dirt if hunters could get it.

Obviously they’d explode if they used the wrong armor.
