Nothing more nothing less. They purposefully gated this quest so you will be forced to log in at least once a week every week for 6 weeks to get the new exotic, just so they can fudge their numbers for investors.
This game is a whole psychological -blam!-ing experiment where bungie is selling your data. Half a BILLION dollars for the initial price to develop this game, for what? Where did all that money go into? No other game on the market has been developed for that expensive of a price tag. This is a game to bungie, they don't give a -blam!- about the regular playerbase.
just so they can fudge their numbers for investors.
Because as we all know, ATVI stock is dependent on people logging in two months after buying forsaken & not on buying forsaken itself.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 11/4/2018 6:21:12 PMI was going to play for 3 weeks regardless of whether there was a quest or if it were time gated. And I bet nearly all of you were too. This just adds one more quest for me to do each week and it’s not like I was needing some new quest to keep me busy. Personally, I haven’t read or seen anything from Bungie even eluding to Thunderlord or an LMG being the reward for the quest. Maybe there was something I missed, or this is just another rumor mill being spread, but I couldn’t care less either way. I’m gonna get an exotic i don’t have and all I care about is whether it’s useful. I’m actually glad that I know I’m going to get it instead of it being put behind RNG or a time-gated, hard difficulty activity that I can’t beat alone.

2 RepliesGot two weeks left before this game gets shelved. Hope it's done by then.

It makes sense, machine guns are coming back in the December dlc

2 RepliesShit I’m just high enough to start wishender quest and I haVnt completed malfeasance

1 ReplyNowadays in the video game industry, it's all about that sweet sweet green. Not making videos games because they want to, not making video games just to make a good story/make an art piece out of it, just to make good cash, nothing else. I'm done with Destiny (2), DONE.

It’s a 3week Quest. Polaris Lance took longer and nobody complained about that. If you don’t want the gun then don’t work on it. Fortnite is always looking for Players.

You just figured out that service games do things to keep you logging in, and that a game developer considers their product to be a game, have no idea what the deal with Activision really means, and got the length of the quest wrong. Pardon me if I don't rush to listen to you.

1 ReplyIt’s not fooling me. I’m enjoying RDR2.

So I fell for the timegate and the clickbait.... Games are meant to be played.... who knew?👀

1 ReplyYou D2 noobs would’ve never finished the Xylar, the Timeless, quest. Step three took me three months at 30 light in year one, and then Thorn was nerfed.

"I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" but look up d1's near launch Dev cycle.....

1 ReplyEdited by indigo_rhodes: 11/1/2018 3:46:34 PMWell, of course it’s a game to Bungie. It should be a game to you, too. Because that’s all it is. A game. Chill out or go rant about a real world problem!

6 RepliesI’m definitely not doing the missions. It is a numbers game for investors. Almost any mode is a weekly and daily milestone to get people to play boring sh!t. The best quest in the franchise have been black spindle and whisper. This weekly stuff isn’t worth it or fun

You explain like you know how game development works. Where did half a billion even come from and do you even economics? Apparently AAA titles are only made with a few million like this guy says and thinking that game companies do not care about their players when in reality a game is made because of the players....
-
1 ReplyThe whole game is just there so you log in. How is that confusing you?
-
2 Repliesjust like the spicy ramen quest lmao
-
So I can play if I want to and you can’t do anything about it.
-
Might wanna add the #ConspiracyTheory tag in the future

16 RepliesWhile I can see the points your trying to make I think a bigger problem is bungie recycling old content so they don’t have to make new All this d1 garbage to bring back exotics with new paint jobs etc Even the horror story reward is just origins story reskined I paid for NEW content not recycled old stuff I own d1 if I want to play it I will play it I paid for NEW exotics NEW areas to explore NEW everything Bungie need to held accountable for this we have nine planets in our system use them We have 2 areas on earth Russia and Europe let’s go else where

This is tactic game developers have been using for a couple of years now. When a games numbers start to go low they "incentivize" the game to keep numbers artificially higher for investors reasons. As more and more games are net based and need continued players to be considered a success, the more you will see this kind of tactic.
-
Reskin game so who cares.... Year 1 armor, weapons, enemies, exotics, etc.... Bungie Crooks are a joke and this Reskin game needs to die out!
-
If you think Activi$on needs investor help, or Bungie is capable of fooling its business partners in the industry, then the only fool here is you. Now if you think this is for earning reporting, and forced by Activi$ion as part of fake inflation of valuation, that is a whole other conversation with legal ramifications.

Are you currently wearing your tin hat?

3 RepliesBetween this and the false exotic drop buff, there should really be a coordinated effort to quit the game en masse.
