God please just deposit your motes already...
I played about 10 matches of Gambit yesterday and in almost half someone on my time kept trying to get 15 motes whenever we need literally 5 for the Primeval and they were all high in power. I lost every round someone did this. If you're one of those people and you see this please just for the sake of us all just deposit motes... it's not hard.
Edit: Gambit also boils down to your luck of getting heavy ammo to use something op. ( *Cough* *Cough* Sleeper, Queens breakers, and 1k Voices) I'm not saying I want them nerfed but they are indeed op.

Side issue, at least if there is not some crazy mechanic to Gambit that I haven't heard of, I keep running into people doing 3 or 4 motes, apparently just cause. They don't invade, and the Primeval isn't ready to spawn. I get getting rid of motes so you don't lose them, I do it a lot, but if you can't get 5 motes it may be time to practice....a lot.

1 ReplyNot just the motes that are the issue. I literally just played with a guardian that STOOD AT THE -blam!-ING PORTAL THE ENTIRE time. And ran thru it as soon as it opened. Didn't contribute in any way. Maybe some kind of cooldown or a "timer" function needs to be added for people who abuse this. Oh who am I kidding, that shit will never happen! But still annoying as hell to watch.

Had that happen and I died three times in a row. Fir gods sake don’t revive people when invader is out and he has you targeted let them spawn back safely in spawn. Then we have more stealers that invade and die with 85 motes ffs. Then we have no revives when they are stood next you. Then we have the portal hugger. No motes banked no invader kills but steals all the heavy and spends all game invading only to die as he goes in over and over again. Then we have the afk guardian. I give up. Edit. Cough cough. Hunters. Cough.

What drives me crazy is having 14 motes and rushing forward to grab the last one, only to have it snatched away by someone who has 3 and then getting murdered by adds bc the other scumbag is too busy running to help me shoot things. O_O

People need to understand that large blockers are absolutely shite, it’s the goddamn taken knights that’ll bend you over and reem you out. Deposit more of them

That said, I still probably force an 80% or higher win ratio while solo queuing, so trust me, you can carry MOST teams. I think the most important tips people never mention are: Don’t grab heavy from the wall if you’re not going to invade Focus on getting invasion portals up first. Keeping the enemy busy fighting guardians/blockers will make everyone else’s life a whole lot easier. Don’t waste invasion portals, especially after the Primeval is summoned or your team is really far behind, especially before the enemy has damaged their primeval. Making them waste heavy and supers before you invade and primeval heal will drastically increase your chances of victory. Just a few tips, one reset away from Dredgen.

Hahahah yep I am sick of the "You have enough motes to pull a Primeval" and them my team mates just milling about. From what I managed to pry out of one of them you apparently are better off waiting to putt the primeval because you get a damage bonus immediately where as the other team must kill their wizards for the same bonus. I would have classed that as a bug but, apparently Bungie excused it away as a leveller for the game to make it less one sided with powerful teams vs weaker teams. It's in a TWAB or Cozmo post or something.

My stategy on randoms is to stand in the center of the map and pick off ads/kill blockers. This allows my teammates to collect the motes so we have multiple large/medium blockers

I went into a damn fit of rage on "dumbass blueberries" at first, but then i quickly realized the blame lies with Bungie and their dumbass bounties along with the culture this game has of needing everything as fast as possible, "world's first", etc. 100% Bungie to blame here...

I have several armor pcs. With heavy ammo finder, I routinely find purple bricks on the ground.

Another tip - when you respawn and there are blockers at the bank, don't run past to start collecting motes. Kill the blockers.

I'm not sure God plays Gambit. He certainly hasn't been in any of my games.

If and when I realize that my team lacks situational awareness, I simply start focusing on finishing Gambit bounties and havin’ some fun invading. Funny enough, that has led to some surprise victories, pull’d start outta… you know where.

I can put up with most things in gambit, but...if I am waiting on the heavy ammo because I have had none drop and you turn up and push me off it. I will leave the match, its bad enough everyone trying to collect the mites from your kills, but that's a stepping too far.

It used to wind me up, but I now know even if we call the primeval up first, and they only have 40 motes, we'll still lose.
