I don't know who designs the quests in this game but seriously they need to be fired.
who the hell designed this quest its so incredibly mind nubingly boring to the point where i don't think the lunas howl is even worth spending all these god damn days grinding for it. Jesus Christ its so stupid.
there's a difference between a good, difficult quest and a stupid boring quest that takes forever, no one enjoys it. fix it.
edit: for all the idiots saying i dont like it because its hard or im too bad read my post again, i dont find it a hard quest i have no problem with quests that are difficult i said its "mind nubmingly boring" this quest has no enjoyable steps nothing new its only step is to spend sh*t tons of time in comp. its boring.

Edited by MadFlava2: 2/18/2019 8:34:06 AMI thought quests were supposed to be challenging AND fun. It seems like most people don't enjoy the quest at all, just the rewards. Your glory rank shouldn't be tied to just if you win but your overall performance. There are several metrics bungie already tracks that could do this. Oh you won and went positive? Points go up. Lost and still went positive? Points go up but not at much.

Ive just started this quest, im on the second step, ive enjoyed it so far. Came up against four stacks maybes 3 times and had my ass handed to me maybes twice. I heard earlier that when the December dlc drops, this quest is no longer avaible, is this correct? If im still doing this quest can i not finish it, does it go completely or can i still finish it.

1 ReplyI have never enjoied the PVP in Destiny 2 because it does not require skill at all only time spending ... for my PvP needs I go to Overwatch where I have over 700 hours with one account and about 500 with another. Got Forsaken because my friends started playing .... every single exotic quest has PvP in it ... Iguess I will never get those exotics ... I am still trying to get to light level adequate for the raid - turns out the fastest way to level up is ... guess what - PvP or play an hour a day for about 6 months ... Forsaken is still fresh for me so I enjoy the PvE part although I can not level up at all and will probably never play the raid since the time needed to get to that level my friends will stop playing again. Yesterday they dragged me through a Well tier 4 mission and I got loot lower level than I allready am ... At least it's something untill Fallout 76 gets out and Destiny 2 becomes a desert ... WIll I ever buy another Bungie game? No I will not. I have preordered the Dark Zone Collectors Edittion and in March I will leave this franchise for good. Untill then I will try and do the raid with my friends before they give up. They all play PvP exclusively and are allready at 599 light by the way ... Bungie is forcing the PvP to the PvE crowd and the only thing they are doing is forcing them to other games.

I don’t mind the objectives, it’s the point requirement that’s tough
-
Easiest quest ever and its worth it too. However crying is also an option.

2 RepliesI did the AoS quest right after Bungie changed the Gambit requirement to allowing guardian kills as an invader. Thankfully I made it through it. For the life of me I cannot imagine a quest where you have to go into competitive where you have 7 other players actually trying to win the match. I don't think very many people go into competitive with a hand cannon in the first place ( I could be wrong), but the people in there working on this quest aren't going to be doing much for their team while they're working on the quest, again, same as in Gambit. Stupid design on Bungie's part. Question: The part where you must reach Fabled, is that in regular Crucible or Competive?
-
1 ReplyThis is an interesting viewpoint. When I looked at the quest, I though to myself "Oh wow, that's clever." Luna's is a precision solar handcannon with a perk that requires precision with... the handcannon. The quest steps make perfect sense (to me at least): Acquaint yourself with the competitive playlist Acquaint yourself with handcannons Use solar abilities or weapons (¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Learn to precision shoot with handcannons Overcome the difficulty of a competitive rank climb Get rewarded with a handcannon you have been training to use under pressure in the playlist. It's not a grind. It's training to be able to at least have the chance to use the reward effectively. That's the way I see it.

It occurs to me that if you don't enjoy the activities required for a quest completion, completing the quest to acquire gear to then use in that very same activity is a rather pointless use of your time.

I’m not sure what part you are complaining about but let me break out the common problems kids on here cry about. 1)Play with randoms against “stacked” teams does not put you at an immediate disadvantage. I’ve had many games where I lost against randoms with a team and destroyed “stacked” teams by myself. The whole “stacked” teams scare started as an excuse for kids being bad and now it’s just a placebo. It’s entirely how good they are and how good you and your team is. 2) The reason the quest is long is because the reward is one of the best pvp weapons in the game so it’s not going to be just handed out after a couple hours of playtime. For something as good as Luna’s Howl, you’ll have to be ready to put in the extra work to get it and if you don’t have time or do want to play pvp a lot, then just don’t go for it. 3) Maybe in school or sports or whatever they always said everyone’s a winner as long as they try, but that isn’t the case. You lose points for losing because you lost, simple as that. The game will NOT reward you for losing so no, you should not get points for losing. And even if they do change it to where you simply don’t gain or lose points for a loss, it wouldn’t really change anything because there are already people on here complaining that losing in Gambit past a certain rank doesn’t give points so it wouldn’t make a difference.

4 RepliesQuestion for anyone here who knows: I’ve heard that playing Competitive will net you Valor rank points as well. If this is true, does this count as 1-to-1 like you were playing Quickplay at the same time? Or is it a reduced amount? Basically, can I play Competitive for the Luna and still be working on the 5 resets for Valor for the Broadsword at the same time?
-
4 RepliesTry grinding for Redrix's Broadsword. I'm halfway through my 4th reset and feel like I've been sentenced to hard time in the crucible for a real-life crime. 10,000 valor is no joke.
-
1 ReplyThe quest is long but it's not hard. The real problems are the ranking system and how matchmaking works.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Turtle---1337: 10/9/2018 4:56:29 PMIf u can't complete the quest then don't do it. Also the gun is 100% worth it.
-
Its just a grind
-
3 RepliesI love posts like this. It's mostly the people that suck in PvP that have problems completing it, and yes, you SUCK in PvP. If you aren't good enough to get it done, you don't deserve the gun. GTFO
-
2 RepliesYour God awful. It's honestly not that hard
-
1 ReplyUh oh, someone's frustrated it's not easy enough.
-
2 RepliesI’m at solar kills currently, just started grinding a few days ago, how much more to go?
-
10 RepliesYeah, the quest is a bit of a drag at times, but man, is the payoff worth it. Luna’s Howl is hands down one of the best PvP weapons ever in Destiny. You don’t know happiness until you two-shot some guy with a 180 rpm hand cannon, and you absolutely can with Luna’s. The thing’s totally broken in certain situations. Hopefully they break out some clones of this and Not Forgotten to grind quickplay for after this season. I’d hate for these to be lost to time and have so many people not get to experience them.
-
I agree. It’s a grind I gave up on a few days ago.
-
Agreed...the designers of weapons quests are pretty damned retarted or lazy as hell
-
It’s a grind 🤷♂️. No two ways about it.
-
4 RepliesHave you ever been hit by that thing though!? It’s worth the struggle. I just started working towards it on my hunter. I’ve started with a no sh*ts given approach. Music and maybe some booz to ease the pain.
-
3 RepliesWhat? completed in a week. Reached Fabled in next 3 days. I am awful in PvP. Quest is greatly designed.
-
Maybe it's just not your type of game? This quest is a good challenge and decent steps. Its not super difficult, even for someone who isn't great at PvP.
