23 RepliesCorrelation is not causation. You're looking at the relationship between traditional religion and education. With a few statistical outliers in the handful of Communist countries where there is low education, but state-enforced atheism. As a Zen Buddhist with a genius level IQ. In cultures where there is little formal education, religion serves an important function as a means of transmitting culture and cultural expecations from one generation to the next.

Jews have the highest average IQ of any people in the world. Instead of shitting on religious people you are actually shitting on Black people bc these countries are almost all black.
-
1 ReplyThe countries on the left are 3rd world countries aren't they?
-
Edited by GOD BLESS THE SNEEDCLAVE: 10/5/2018 10:20:55 PMFun fact: Countries on the left of the chart have far higher populations of blacks.
-
Is this a "hurt durr dumb religious people" post?
-
5 RepliesEdited by Darth Turtle: 10/5/2018 9:40:15 AMMeh, where the data from? Majority of the countries are unlabeled so the countries in that bubble could be places in Africa and South America where the education and general IQ is lower but Religion is more prominent. The thirst countries near the top could be placed in the west, like the US, Europe. That chart doesn’t show the conclusion you’ve reached. Begone

555-COME-ON-NOW Still here to talk if you want.

49 Repliescorrelation, maybe. connection. no. I say this as a high IQ religious person.
-
2 RepliesDetermining this based on national statistics is some pretty hilarious methodology. Also, although Japan is not religious per se, they are almost all deeply spiritual and ritualistic. I would consider it a degree of ancestral worship.
-
3 RepliesCare to factor in any of the other variables there? Access to schools, money, education system. May I ask, why do you care so much about religion? You post more about religion than I do, and I don't think it gets you anywhere.
-
Huh. So intelligent people are more likely to recognise a lack of evidence and are less likely to believe words written in a book nearly 2,000 years ago in a time where individuals saw natural disasters as manifestations of a higher power as factual? Shocked.

1 ReplyEdited by nylon: 10/5/2018 12:00:30 PMSo
Singapore is the only one with both believers and the highest average IQ in the world?
1 ReplyI can't get passed the strong connection between religion and willful ignorance.
-
4 RepliesWell, seeing that DaVinci, Shakespeare, Mozart,Bach,Michelangelo and Bethovan were Christians I would say yes
-
All I know is IQ is a thicc blondie that I happen to personally call my favorite in terms of “badass girls in video games”
-
1 ReplyDunno. Depends if she’s religious, and if they main her.
-
This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, but it’s not necessarily indicative of whether religious claims are true. There are obvious confounding variables, such as poverty for example. Poor people are likely to believe in religion and to have lower IQ’s
-
Ah yes you’ve found some correlation which pretty much means nothing.
-
5 RepliesI believe in God and yet my IQ is 130. Fight me.
-
26 RepliesCorrelation, you mean. There may be only a superficial connection where they don’t really have anything to do with one another, which I’m inclined to believe. Coming from someone who isn’t religious.
