Beside it being the besto obviously. It's consistent. Several matches today I broke out my snapshot, backup plan main Ingredient. In about 3 of those games combined I hit probably 6 shots that were full body, no bolts missed hits that didn't kill. Then I remembered the consistency issues with fusions. It seems to be a bloom (protect the thumb less ) mechanic. I could be wrong but out of those games I checked player resilience and for exotics that reduce dmg like the voidwalker exotic. No lag was present in these games that I noticed and if there was any it was minimal.

Every other fusion rifle except for Telesto was nerfed with 2.0 update. The iinconsistency that you experience with other fusion rifles is because of increased number of bolts to kill per archetype, lack of precision damage, and severe damage falloff. They made fusion rifles easier in D2 by making them hitscan but they also gave them significantly less range than they had in D1. The exception to all of this is Telesto, which still only takes four bolts to kill, is unaffected by damage falloff, and can still multikill with its explosions. Run any high impact fusion rifle and you'll see an even bigger difference than what you experienced with Main Ingredient. Merciless, which use to always kill in four bolts and could OHK Supers, now takes five bolts to kill, is wildly inconsistent, and can't even take out half a Super's shield.

1 ReplyI love using telesto in pvp. Ironically enough most fights with that gun would be better off with a normal fusion due to the delayed damage allowing shotgunners to get closer than a normal fusion would allow but the utility is amazing. My favorite is to fire it at the base of a door to prevent shotgun rushers or shoot a heavy spawn if my team cant push it. Most of the time it works but sometimes people are aware of the trap. I have gotten a triple kill from shooting once at the heavy spawn 😂

5 RepliesEdited by DR3DG3: 10/1/2018 2:11:02 PMGet a Titan who doesn't care about their kd on your team. Shoot them with the Besto. Then have them sprint into the enemy team while you emote around a corner. It's got to be the most confusing kill cam in the game. Edit: when I get home tonight I need to go back to my game clips from January mayhem to upload the first time we did this.

9 RepliesChaperone and bad lander Compared to them Telesto is mediocre....o

2 RepliesI’m starting to think that this “best gun for (insert mode here) thing is kind of fake. I’ve been using Conjecture TSC for ages in PvP and it does similar crisp work in both PvP and PvE, though it does need to be timed carefully since the charge rate is kinda slow. Maybe it all depends on the player...

3 RepliesBungie reduces damage per bolt of all fushion rifles when they moved to the special slot. So main ingredient only does like 41 a bolt now. Higher impact fushion will be more consistent.

1 ReplyWho the -blam!- use telesto
-
Great counter to shotgun rushers. Love Telesto.
-
2 Repliesive literally never seen it in pvp
-
Depends on the charge time my main ingredient is almost god rolled and really consistent

It's popular because it's an easy to use Fusion Rifle with no damage falloff and kills in 4 bolts.

15 RepliesLol no, its popular because it does not take any skill, blast a wall and it kills people at snipe range. Its not "consistent" you just actually are not rewarded for missing with other fusion rifles
-
It's probably because it's just like the Needler from Halo

Used to use Telesto all the time in Escalation Protocol as heavy. Amazing orange bar killer.

5 RepliesEdited by wasabisushi: 9/30/2018 11:05:53 AMMain ingredient isn't that good anymore lmao. Not enough impact. Use a higher impact one if you want to one hit kill. Telesto is broken that's what it is.
-
1 ReplyI don’t even see it much anymore... heck you only get 2 shots... It also doesn’t always kill on one shot.
-
Wait, Telesto popular? *Looks around* Dude, fusion rifles haven’t been popular since early D1!
-
I tried a max impact fusion last week that barely broke the shield, all bolts hit the enmy right in the chest. Immediately switched back to Telesto.

Edited by Rocket3497: 9/30/2018 6:27:33 AMYou can do well with it, it’s worth the exotic slot, but missing just a couple bolts can cause you to lose a fight, but at least it isn’t very hard to use at the right range and situation, at a certain range it becomes useless because of the spread, but with a skilled hand you can manage the recoil at times.
