Either this is a bug, or it’s a feature that currently functions so poorly that I (and many others, judging from what I’ve seen on Reddit, Gamefaqs, etc.) thought it was a bug, in which case it should still be addressed.
No matter how quickly you end Chaos Reach, it doesn’t refund or save nearly any of your super energy. I’ve ended it immediately after activating it, just to see, and I retained maybe 10% of my super bar. That’s less than half a second of Chaos Reach (enough to kill maybe 1 Thrall or Dreg?), then starting over at 10% of your super bar. Which means that unless you literally ACCIDENTALLY activate your super in a place where there are absolutely no enemies at all to kill, it’s never worth deactivating the super early.
Bungie, please tell me that this isn’t how the feature was intended to work! Currently, the feature even existing in the game is more of a RISK to Warlocks (we could accidentally deactivate the super early, gaining nothing and losing precious damage during an important battle) than it is a beneficial feature.
I’ve loved practically everything about the Forsaken expansion. It’s totally restored my faith in y’all as a company, and I’ll never again NOT preorder a major Destiny release, but my Warlock is my main, and while pretending I’m Goku is so fun, I can’t help but feel like the new Arc subclass is incomplete with this bug throwing a wrench into y’all’s awe-inspiring game design.
Please! Help the Saiyan wannabes like myself experience the full glory of Chaos Reach, Bungie! If I had 7 Dragon Balls right now, this would be my wish!
