Why people pay for Recovs?
They like crucible, want the pinnacle rewards, but are unable to play/win enough to meet all the requirements to obtain them.
How many people here can replace a transmission in a car? If you can’t, you pay someone.
Imagine getting everything done for the Luna’s Howl and getting to 1800 glory points and hitting a wall. You see a post in the LFG section saying guaranteed cheap recovs. You contact the guy and he says he will finish your glory points for $75.
Not saying I would pay for a recov but I understand.

My 13 yr old son plays crucible on my acct all weekend while im at work. Does 10-15 gms a day Fri-Sun Gains me about Valor 500-750pts a weekend He makes extra allowance money from me I never cared about my k/d stats whether they are good or not as he avgs a 0.30-.50 Me im about 1.4 overall Kid helps me play , when i cant as i work towards the Redrix Broadsword

People that pay $500-1000 dollars so they can get Luna’s or hit Legend have to be some of the biggest morons ever. I don’t care what you spend your money on as long as it doesn’t affect me. In this case, it does. Shitters who couldn’t earn the gun have these 4.0 KDs hop on their 0.30 KD account and just obliterate everyone. Enjoy your virtual gun guys. If you enjoy torching your cash so much, feel free to send some my way.

No one should have to pay for recoveries or Trials carries as it shows you do not have the skill required to get a certain item or complete a certain activity. You can tell the the difference between recovery acounts and the guys who actually play and improve their skills. I have been against it in Destiny 1 and will continue to be against it in Destiny 2.

All the time the #Help forum sees posts about "My characters were deleted", "why was I banned from D2" even "my account was hacked and I lost my account" because of them paying others for account recoveries and then got duped. These people who do account recoveries are not a compeny just kids in the basement who play all day every day getting money for doing what players should do IN A GAME and more and more of them want tthat money quick then to move on to dupe the next person. AND THEN PLAYERS COMPLAIN ON THESE FORUM AT BUNGIE. KNOW ISSUES Banned accounts due to recoveries using cheats to get through games quick. Deleted characters as a bad joke Taking money but not doing what they said they would do. Stealing whole accounts to sell elswhwere (So money from the player who was duped and more from the player who bought the account who would be then blocked by Sony, Microsoft or Blizzard). Players complained at Bungie for selling cosmetics but willing to pay a lot more to these people just to play a game for them to get a single item and then wonder what went wrong when they can not play anymore. NO the risk is to much for any STRANGER to get near my account and as I said D2 IS A GAME so I will play and earn stuff not to pay out more to a STRANGER to get a bit of kit that I will never use as I will have lost my game account.

10 RepliesYou guys do realise there are gamers out there that earn a lot more than $5 an hour right? They may not necessarily have the time to grind, so they pay others to do that for them while they attend to their life stuff and they can engage in the parts of the game that actually interests them when they have the time with the equipment of their choice. Not everyone derives the same enjoyment from grinding and doing the same things over and over again, that's why paid farming/recovery services exists in the first place and in a lot of other games too, because there is a market for it, because there are people who are willing to pay for it. Whilst I would never engage in such services either as a provider or customer I can certainly understand why they exist and why certain players would engage in them. What I don't understand is why other players care so much that they spew out so much vitriol against it. Is someone paying for the weapon you guys grinded out really going to affect you? If so you're going to hate the South Korean version of this game where they cut out the middle man.

I mean if you have the skill to do something people are willing to pay for go for it. I did paid carries in D1 😬 Helped a bunch of people get their very first flawless. Had a kid cry at the lighthouse it was adorable ☺️

A lot of these guys kick the opposing team members , either one or two , they make more money and get accounts done quicker, the account gets reported and if bungie look into it and find that’s what they are doing, the account gets banned or suspended, the account owner probably doesn’t realise this happens. Please don’t risk your account being banned. A lot of these guys are top tier players who wouldn’t do that on their own accounts but don’t care if yours gets banned

The difference with your analogy is transmission is necessary for the car to work, but Luna’s Howl isn’t necessary to play destiny. And let’s not forget we all play destiny for fun, and part of that fun ( for me ) is working through tough content and be rewarded for that. Working towards getting raid clears and all the weapons and amour, getting the season pvp gun or even just grinding for all them exotics. It’s less about the rewards and more about the experience of getting them. If people want to skip past that part it’s up to them, but I just feel they are missing a big part of the game.

4 RepliesWhatever, I respect their hustle. Back in D1 I gave my nephews and nieces all the frozen Gogurt they wanted while farming the necessary items needed for the various exotic sword quests. I guess one could say I “payed” for a recovery service. So what? You gonna take away some of my exotic swords? Oooh I’m scared. I couldn’t care less what people do with your time and money. This is a video game. I just enjoy reading about the frivolous bullshit people are whining and crying about over things in a video game.

Account sharing should be bannable. It is in so many other games, but for some reason it's ok for this game. Doesn't make any sense.

I've seen people paying for far dumber things, and even more illogical "Help" in games (Many many Fortnite BR players migrate into the co-op beta looking to get V-bucks, and pay for over-levelled guns or taxis to get materials all of which are completely useless until you get to those areas yourself)

I think a better example is I pay to have a movie theatre installed in my house but I don't have time to watch movies. So another guy offers to watch movies for me if I pay him $500. Waste of a hobby and money.

NOTHING in video games is that important guys. It’s a video game? A game, that’s all it is. I’ve NEVER wanted something bad that I said, here’s my money, get me that weapon or rank or what the fukk ever. But if someone wants something that bad, then whatever. I feel personally it ruins pvp, instead of a .6 k/d running around it’s a guy who’s 2.6 k/d. Imo, that’s what ruined trials. Average everyday players wanting to play against people in their skill bracket but instead go up against elites. Doesn’t bother me as I don’t play it or care about rials but I do think it’s shitty for everyone else.
