Extreme stuttering, not bound to FPS

Hi all, So I decided to play Destiny 2 again and prepare myself for Forsaken. The issue is that i suffer extreme stuttering but it is not bound to my FPS. FPS stay at 60 / 70 most of the time but the stuttering makes it look like it is running at 20 FPS. This is unplayable for me. It looks like the same issue that was plaguing Destiny 2 at launch last year. It seems like it only occurs on locations with multiple players like EDZ etc.. Very disappointing since i was looking forward to play the game again. Any help? Thanks! My computer: GTX 970 I7 3770K 16 Gb Ram 144 Hz Monitor

    • I would like to add to this saying till today I was having little to no issues with frame drops on my laptop. Today, I have no idea what the actual issue is but there seems to be heavy frame drops in all activities. I've been playing d2 on PC since early august and been enjoying forsaken a lot. Today was the first time experiencing such issues. I use a laptop (Dell G7 15-7588) that uses a Core i7 8750H, GTX 1060 MaxQ, 16GB ram, 128 GB SSD and 1 TB storage and running Windows 10 Home and I usually run it at 1920 by 1080 with medium to low settings most of the time with vsync on and framerate lock on to 60 sometimes. I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers(411.63) today and the issues seemed to start so I reverted to previous drivers and the issue still persisted. This is really unfortunate as I was hoping to get to explore all the new things with reset. Also my battle tag is Prakash#11978 if it helps. P.S: I know D2 isn't officially supported on laptop configurations but any help would be appreciated.

      • I can confirm I have never experienced “shuttering “ only until the forsaken update something they did about the network connection we just deal with lag until the shuttering stops and I have had it last a max of 15-20sec. I know it is probably because the servers are getting bogged down with so many interactions and so many new players added to the servers that it has become stressed to the point of shuttering. So yes it is on bungie’s end. Not going to end a complaining though. Ty bungie for all your hard work and wow the game has rekindled the spark of fun to grind and now exotics especially feel exotic lol
