Apart from the fact it takes no skill to use. As soon as the enemy invader is on your side your dead. Rockets have travel time and snipers actually take some skill to get head shots. Sleeper has no travel time as soon as the trigger is pulled the enemy is dead.
It’s clearly over used. Everyone I’ve spoke to about it said they use it because they basically have to if they want a chance. It melts the boss and it melts guardians.
Mines been sitting at 380 on my second character. I like using new guns not something I’ve used since TTK. Inspect anyone in your next gambit lobby and tell me there ain’t at least 6 out of 8.
He’ll nerf not I don’t care, don’t use it anyway. I just hope everyone is happy with gambit, a new gamemode that’s actually very good being a sleeper only meta.
Boring. Neeeeexxt.

Edited by TheArtist: 9/22/2018 11:48:10 AMEverything that kills me is a no-skill crutch. Then you shouldn’t be dying to it. Ninety percent of people who die to Sleeper in Gambit die because they’re stupid. They stand out in the open. They move in predictable lines. They refuse to prioritize pvp when they’re being invaded. They lack basic open-world pvp skills. So they make themselves easy targets for one of the most difficult weapons in the game to use against moving targets. Sleeper is a weapon that was designed to fight big, SLOW MOVING targets. I played last night and didn’t die to it once. Why? Because I don’t make the mistakes I mentioned above. I have open-world pvp experience from playing in The Dark Zone in The Division. Stop blaming the weapon and accept the lesson it’s teaching you about your game. You’ll become a better player for it.

I’m sorry but it’s an easy kill weapon. Can’t bring myself to use it, so boring. Why els would everyone be using it? You can’t see the invader, as soon as there on your side they can line up the sleeper within seconds.
-
It's almost like it has more aim assist than a sniper rifle and a broken hitbox
-
It actually has less. The people who die to it just make themselves easy targets.
-
If you're going off the database stats, that's not accurate.

Edited by PurpleMikey: 9/22/2018 11:56:52 AM"Everything that kills me is a no-skill crutch. Then you shouldn’t be dying to it" With that logic then people shouldn't be dying to hackers.

Non sequitur. Someone who is hacking is cheating by altering how the game plays. People who die to Sleeper can’t manage to avoid dying to one of the most difficult to use weapons on moving targets in the game. Because 90% of the time they either aren’t moving or are moving in a straight line when they die. They don’t die because the weapon is overpowered. They die because they are making themselves absurdly easy targets. Because they either lack skill in pvp. Or lack skill in open-world pvp.

Again. Complete nonsequitur. Hacking makes the game do things it wasn’t designed to do. That’s why it’s cheating.

Edited by PurpleMikey: 9/22/2018 12:08:09 PMI also just realized you play on psn and I'm on pc. The sleeper is much easier to aim on pc. I have no experience with the game on consoles.
-
It's still really easy
-
Everything is easier to aim with a mouse.

-
You are missing the point.
-
It may not have travel time, but the time it takes to actually fire should be people's window to take the killing shot to the skull of that pesky invader
-
Thing is it’s very hard to see the invader where they can see you straight away. All the time in the world to fire that sleeper before the enemy even knows what hit them.
-
It's pretty easy to find the bright red invader most of the time. You have three zones they can spawn in right? They will not be spawning in the area that's active so that's one zone you can knock off. That leaves two zones for you to scan. The invader needs los to hit you so they should be in a somewhat open spot. Then just shoot them in the face. The other times they will be getting in close, and that's handled differently.

Edited by Trafalgar_Lou: 9/22/2018 12:34:15 PMAs soon as the invader spawns all they need to do is stand still, line up the sleeper and get a kill. It’s not the fact you can’t look for them, it’s by the time you do...your dead https://youtu.be/3OOjcLhjNvA
-
I mean you have to be quick about it, but it's easy to do if you're somewhat competent with long range weapons in the game. You could probably two shot them, sleeper has some crazy flinch when you get hit leaving time for a follow up shot.

Edited by Trafalgar_Lou: 9/22/2018 12:48:20 PMYou can’t 2 shot invaders with anything other than a sniper of the sleeper/Queen’s breaker/linear fusions because of the oversheild. I don’t want every pvp encounter in gambit to be “who can one shot the other person first” The first week of gambit was by far the best. Huge weapon variation with some decent pvp encounters. Now it’s “run and hide as fast as you can here comes the sleeper man” only to wipe half your team and return to melt there primeval with the same gun. Boring. It’s the only word for it.
