Upvote to leave sleeper alone

As topic says.... I die from it as much as I kill with it. Just deal with it and join in. It’s super fun Have people thought of tracking rockets? They are fire and forget in the right hands. As a matter of interest, is it solo players who want the nerf more so than team players If it is to get a nerf or “changes” guardians will just find another weapon to use, and that’s when the cycle will start, and then where will it end. #leavesleeperalone Edit: This is how it all started back in D1... Don’t let it happen again Edit 2: Great comments guys for and against, remember it’s the best gun for dps from range, just so happens it’s good for the pvp aspect as well. Edit 3: Let’s hope bungie get this right, I mean nerf it for pvp but don’t take away one of the best heavy weapons in the game in pve. Edit 4: So bungie tweeted about the sandbox team looking in to POSSIBLE changes. Had some suggestions from you guys. Change the heavy ammo economy for gambit, maybe one heavy drop per round. Only allow heavy to drop when the primeval spawns in. Have heavy ammo taken away when you invade. Over 500 upvotes wow guys this is great.   • the problem with what you are saying is that your forgetting that when you invade onto the other players play area in gambit you are able to see where they are so people with sleeper are able to pre-charge their gun meaning once the other person steps out they instantly die, and with tracking rockets you are still able to try and dodge them by stepping behind a wall or just finding some kind of cover to hide behind (that being you see the rocket coming. also another problem is that some players (mostly the new players) they may not have sleeper yet so they aren't able to jump to the same playing field as the 1-4 people using it in on the other team but what you say about other "people just finding another weapon to use" won't really happen there will still be people using the sleeper they will just have to be more accurate with your shot but with that means some players won't hit those shots anymore and then will move to another weapon that and still compete against it.

      • In just going to let you guys know sleeper is the Least of your worries wait till you meet thr wavesplitter after the player grabs an orb. One shot kill no charge time and and ENERGY weapon so they dont have to wait for heavy. This guy outshoots sleep 95% of the time and i get messages complaining that im cheating because of it sleeper is damn strong but if you dont have a clear cross map shot on me your gone before your gun even charges. So in other words LEAVE THE DAMN SLEEPER ALONE.

          Make it 2 shot for long range and 1 shot for close range in gambit only, problem solved.

            As an admin of a clan and im always going into gambit with a team we all saw how OP sleeper was on the day of the gambit trials. they do need to nerf it because it shouldn't be a one shot kill or have that much range. They need to make it at least a two shot kill but there is no reason an invader can just sit back with a sleeper and take out a whole team with this gun.

            • Dude you're spewing all these suggestions on your high horse when a simple nerf of one weapon will fix the entire game mode. Try playing a full day of gambit and not use your sleeper once and tell me you're fine with it, just try it. I'll wait.

            • I want the nerf so i have an actual chance of getting ace of spades. When i get it they can re buff it. Its hard enough to try and kill someone with overshield and then someone takes your kill. And this happens only 10% of the time, because the other 90 people are using the sleeper.

              • The problem isn't Sleeper Simulant, it's the stilted Invasion mechanic in general - ANY weapon is lethal when you can see everyone and have an overshield. I've been killed more by Bows, Snipers, and Scouts (even a few Shotguns) than by Sleeper, and changing a single weapon or adjusting the ammo economy isn't going to change anything. This controversy seems like a classic case of getting upset at the wrong thing - Sleeper is getting blamed for the Ace of Spades quest, and the Invasion mechanic in general, being flawed. I know the Ace of Spades quest relies heavily on having lots of Invaders to kill (and the frequency of Invaders with ANY ranged weapon being able to turn around a match single-handedly is more of a problem than what exact weapon they're using) - the Gambit portion of that quest could be adjusted to allow a second/alternative option [maybe 150 Public Event or Heroic Story/Adventure HC kills, or 50 Majors in any world activity], or allow kills AS an Invader, or some other adjustment. Almost every Invader shows up across the map using a ranged weapon, and requiring HC kills against a ranged opponent with True Sight and an overshield (all while in an arena full of high-level enemies, blockers, Motes, and a Primeval and time limit to worry about) in the first place was just a bad decision...but it's not Sleeper's fault.

                  • I would like to see heavy ammo reduced for invaders... I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I don't really think the sleeper is too strong in gambit when examining purely the weapon. On the other hand, the presence of the sleeper seems almost mandatory. I remember when I avoided crucible because of the same feeling with Mida. There may not be much wrong with it necessarily, but it isn't fun either for those of us who don't want to use it. The sandbox team SHOULD look at it, but I'll accept whatever outcome they determine except for a straight up nerf
