The solution is to separate the damage tables of PvP & PvE. That way said weapon still remains a high DPS weapon for PvE as it was intended. Having said that Bungie screws everyone over and nerfs any & everything into the ground. Then tries to build an Exotic Armor piece that will compensate for the nerf only to nerf that when it starts to have an affect on PvP again. A vicious circle that is broken if the damage tables were split.
Though I guess a few Devs would actually have to work instead of acting like they were in the Google lounge, drinking mocha frappachinos with triple shot of latte a double vanilla, munching on bananas, whole wheat bagels & a half pound of cream cheese.
