Instead of nerfing a great pve gun, just make it so the heavy weapon slot goes grey and is blocked while you invade. Call it invaders Blight or something. This adds more risk on the invader and forces them to get into a firefight with the defenders.
They get an overshield anyway, so I don't see this being a terrible problem. It would also synergy better with the cayde quest, which heavy weapons are kinda putting a downer on for some people.
Edit: for those who support my idea, I've made a dedicated post on the subject - https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/248550933
Thanks for the support guys, you're awesome! Let's get it trending and get this sleeper business dealt with.

May as well just have the invader firing rainbows from their primary and unicorns from their energy weapons. Then again, unicorns pointy horn would be too pointy and probably need nerfing 🙄
-
I don't know, those rainbows seem pretty op.
-
Not a bad idea actually.
-
I really like that idea
-
Edited by PR4X1S: 9/14/2018 4:29:21 PMThat idea would totally solve the problem, but I suspect someone at bungie is already rubbing their hands gleefully together, I'm anticipation of programming in a massive Nerf, they just love a good Nerf.
-
The greets out would be great but also bump health up a little to counter the gun fight because over shield that goes away permanently is not much help against a team let alone a team with heavies or shotguns or snipers or anything
-
Edited by Recon1392: 9/14/2018 6:11:46 PMNo, the whole point of Gambit is to be a troll and rub dirt on the other team. Sleeper is annoying but when a person goes in, they should get everything available to them, to make the other team suffer.
-
Anyone saying this is a great idea is -blam!-ing dumb. So lets not let the invader use heavy, but the whole other team gets heavy. Lul.
-
Only thing good about this post is it shows up all the babies at once 😂
-
But the team that is being invaded can use Sleeper on the invader and one shot kill him?? Your heart is in the right place but, no, that is NOT a good idea. The whole reason of the invader having an overshield is because he is going to be in a 1v4 situation while invading, which is totally fair if you ask me.
-
Edited by AlieN_x_HuMaN: 9/14/2018 3:55:10 PMYeah! Good idea. No heavy on invasion. I like it *this is the type of idea you see some one make millions of dollars from and wonder to yourself why the fuk cant i ever come up with something so simple?
-
+1 & A bump for a valid suggestion
-
-
That's actually a really great idea.

Edited by TJ_Dot: 9/14/2018 2:20:38 PMWanna destroy people at a distance, snipe, plain and simple, nice. Make this its own post, get it attention.
-
Decent idea. Bump for traction.
-
Maybe make it that you can only invade with your primary ?
-
Maybe make it the invader has to kiss you on both cheeks? It’s pvp flip sake, you guys are seriously deluded
-
I’m sorry that you prob need the sleeper with over shield and an outline of the enemy🤷🏿♀️. It’s easier to just disagree and maybe use a valid argument on why the invader needs a heavy when they they can still use a super, sniper, or shotgun.
-
Nah bro, I don’t need it at all, I’ve invaded with just my insurmountable skullfort, I’ve invaded with Polaris lance, I’ve invaded with chaperone, I’ve invaded with ace of spades, I’ve invaded with hammers. I’m adaptable, have to be in this game cos all you whiny babies keep getting everything nerfed
-
Primary or special. Seeing as they still get an over shield and they see your location at all times.
-
Something along those lines. I'd find it more fun to go in with an overshield, but with a handicap.
-
I would rather see their super disabled than heavy
-
I'd rather both be blocked. It's either a heavy that 1shot kills or a super that you can't touch before getting blown away
-
The problem with that is that if you block both the invader is at a huge disadvantage, more than they already are with it being 4v1 and all.
