Two exotics now require PVP content. Another 4 require it to obtain the catalyst (At sheer random luck too).
Alot of players have 0 interest in PVP, which forces them into PVP just to obtain these certain items.
RANDOMDOUCH3420: But you don't have to do PVP, you're not forced to.
Gating off content that you've purchased behind PVP is forcing you to play PVP. I hate this excuse and if you had planned on making it, you are an idiot. This game does not benefit from PVP and I get the feeling the only reason it's in the game is to appeal to all the e-sports fans. And ok. Destiny is fine with having PVP, it just shouldn't ruin the experience for those who don't wish to partake in crappy lagfests and unbalanced situations. (ACE OF SPADES FOR -blam!-ING EXAMPLE.)
Edit: Well, I just went from 45% on ARC completion to 23% because I'm constantly dying to one shot rocket launchers and supers being pulled out of peoples asses.
I'd be fine if the % stayed the same, but you can all go -blam!- yourselves with a rusty pipe for making the % go down.

Yo, that's Activision my boy, not Bungie.

Focus on one Element first. When its 100% it will be locked. Use energy, power and Super with the same Element and you will get this done. 4 Points for a kill minus 1 if you die. Should be doable.. and Chaperone is a pvp gun. Ace of Spades on the other hand should be purely pve even if I personally didnt have any problems but its the logical thing to handle this that way..

11 RepliesI’m as mad about the third seed of light being locked behind the raid as you are about this.
-
You are lucky you were not here for D1. Where half the exotics required the raid or PvP.
-
ur trash. so many pvp weapons require pve as well and we get it done
-
1 ReplyOP says this while both exotics are only used in pvp.
-
Forsaken was made for pve. Do you see how much there is to do? Baby. Go play pokemon scrub.
-
2 Replieshates pve players? are you kidding me? because of two exotics? they put so much time and effort into the entire raid game and they HATE you because of TWO exotics that aren’t even difficult to get? REALLY?!
-
Almost all exotic quests need PvP progress, all you need to do is get good, I've gotten good and now solo queue into comp and get 20+ kills a game at a generally high k/d

2 RepliesConsidering the Ace was working just fine when we put a bullet in Uldren, why does it now need "upgrading"? -blam!- you Bungie for thinking your shitty quest lines are enjoyable or make any damned sense at all.

2 RepliesEdited by Devildogx4Ever: 9/14/2018 6:41:39 PMi agree. They sell there PVE story and PVE content in all there ads, but then in order to get your light level as high as it can go as fast as it possibly can go, your forced to do PvP. Powerful engrams locked behind weeklies and dailys in pvp, get full crucible set to do this weekly for a powerful engram, the same for gambit. and dont get me started on gambit. thats about as pve as nothing. the whole match weighs on the pvp aspect. if your invader sucks, youve lost no matter how well your pve is. if your light level is too low to compete with the invaders, your dead sence gambit has taken the most hard core pvp aspect and made light level matter. And its worse, that most of the people doing it, are only doing it for there bounties, because again they are forced to do it to get that gear set for the powerful engram quest. Destiny was sold to us as a PVE co-op game, yet so much is locked behind pvp.

3 Repliesafter reading all these replys, its like "hey antham hurry up and come out, were all waiting to jump ship."

3 RepliesPvP is cancer and the worst part of the community.

If you aren't on Twitch, You Tube, or are a no lifer try hard elitist, Bunghole does not give a shit about your gameplay experience. They got your cash, your usefulness is spent. In the words of a great Twilight Zone episode, You are Obsolete. This game and a large part of this community, especially pvp, is a giant burning turd.

2 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 9/14/2018 1:50:23 PMI can only conclude that they do these kinds of things because if there wasn’t anything that required it, Crucible participation numbers would dramatically decrease. And I don’t think they want to admit that. They’ve attracted a majority of a certain type of gamer, and I think a majority of them very much prefer PvE. Prefer co-op over actual PvP. Even then, having players complete personal objectives in competitive game modes is a detriment to it. No one should be competing, especially when others rely on them, unless they want to be. Plain and simple. It is, and always has been, an asinine practice.

get a clue people, of course the pvp numbers will seam high if people are forced into pvp to finish a bloody quest. yea i would like to get ace of spades, but forget it, its not worth the hassle of a headache, and if i have to do pvp the i am one of those people that pvp'ers hate because ether i will just move around not doing anything or i just keep running into the red team to get killed fast to try to help end the match faster. or just do the bloody shoulder charge only. ((witch i admit can be fun) lot of fun coming around a corner and ramming into someone)) I admit i kind of like gambit, but even that is a joke being that all anyone does is just stand around the portal waiting for someone to show up or to port them selves. so i hardly do that one anymore

20 RepliesWhat's sad is if they removed PVP from the game entirely and made it firmly known that no Destiny game would ever have pvp again, you'd lose maybe 130,000 players, probably under 100k. That's around the number of people who are only interested in playing pvp. If you removed PVE entirely and made this a solely pvp game, they'd have... 100k to 130k players. Because EVERYONE else would quit and never play it again. That's how important PVP fanatics are. And yet. They are the ones who Bungie bases all it's decisions on.
-
1 ReplyBungie's goal is simple. Push away casual and PVE players so their Streamers and Hardcore fans can have the perfect PVP experience and less distractions.
-
1 ReplyBungie hates pve players and pvp players equally

1 ReplyWhat everyone in the comment section is not thinking about is Anthem... I know a lot of people are super excited for that game and they are not having a PVP system (at launch). I agree with Invghost I hate Bungies stupid PVP system and the only reason I do participate is to get the Quest items and Exotics. The funny part is a came up with solution to all the PVE and PVP bullshit years ago. Have 2 parts to the same quest step that satisfies all players. For example, get 25 super kills in Crucible OR get 125 super kills in strikes. Do one or the other but it still works either way! But, hey that would make to much since so lets not do that....
-
Not to mention it takes about 10 minutes to load a game. It keeps getting worse...
-
That's why I like WoW. They keep pvp and pve completely separated and each have their own powerful rewards you can only get from playing each one respectively. No mixing bs like it's done here.
-
11 RepliesFor me personally the first step of the Ace of Spades is just... don't even have a word for it. I won't get this gun, solely based on this first step, can't kill an invader with a hand cannon for my life lol. I even stopped caring about Gambit and the gun because of this.
