After all the noise and complaints gambit kills got reworked
-
1 ReplyI mean yea it was a pain, but after a while you start to figure out how the spawning works (BTW invaders appear at the far side away from your team in one of the 3 areas the ads spawn) BUT once you complete the quest its well worth it and you'll forget about the kills in Gambit. IMHO Ace of Spades is another exotic that FEELS exotic. Its like the same feeling you had when you got OG Fatebringer. Its a gun thats good in both PvE and PvP and the perks and stats are great. The only problem you'll run into with it is if other people are around and they get the last hit so you cant proc your mori. Other than that being able to chain that bonus damage for 6 shots, New and Improved Firefily (NOT that stupid Dragonfly crap), and did I mention you can 2 tap with your Mori shots in Crucible? feels great and worth and pain.

25 RepliesI still suggest give up on this quest until it’s reworked, if it’s not then just forget about it. It’s not worth it. Not saying the weapon is bad, but you’ll find better exotics for your weapon slot eventually. But after playing 7 or 8 gambit games (I lost count) and really doing my best to go after invaders with crimson only to get hit by supers/sleeper or having my teammates get kills not even using a hand cannon? I gave up. I’m not good at pvp in the first place and this barrier is insurmountable. I spent 8 games in a mode I hated with nothing to show for it so I gave up. Not because of rage, not even because I was angry, I just realized that I wasn’t going to accomplish something no matter how hard I tried so I’m just not going to waste my time until it’s fixed. If they never change it, I’ll never get the weapon. I’ve already resigned myself to it.

1 ReplyPro tip. Stop trying to complete it. Just play regularly. It's much less frustrating and it'll happen eventually. That's what I've been doing.

Edited by Gun: 9/13/2018 2:11:15 AMTake some clan mates into gambit and have them weaken the invader for you

disability or not, nothing is easy. keep trying and adapt, crying about PvP is getting so old now. If you can't do it then the gun just ain't for you.

Ignore all the slaters and haters. I HATED this quest with a passion and fully agree with you. How I got my kills was using the storm and drang. Over charge the Sturm using the DRANG and wait (or camp) it not comfortable in pvp engagements. A charged storm shot is beat mode and can almost two tap guardians. Aim for the head!!

Edited by WarjackPrime: 9/11/2018 7:45:52 PMI have to agree. I actually enjoy PvP to an extent. I'm mainly a PvE player but when not lopsided I do enjoy PvP matches. I also enjoy Gambit but not that feeling of helplessness I get knowing I have to get enemy guardian hand cannon kills. That is just not fun. I don't like "fighting" against my own teammates for such a rare resource. I would have much rather had it be Complete 10 gambit matches and get 500 headshot kills with a hand cannon against any enemy (guardian kills count as 25 kills). If the point is to get us to try gambit, that would have done it for both PvP and PvE players. I'll get it eventually, and I'm fine with that. but it would have been more fun if I know I could make progress toward it with every match.

I agree, I finished the quest, but struggled with the pvp portion, I am not a pvp player, nor do I want to be. Bungie said back before house of wolves they wouldn’t push people into pvp any more, this is why people don’t trust anything Bungie says. Hang in there, I agree this was crap on Bungie’s part .

I guess most Everyone seems to miss the point that We already Own the Ace. Don't You remember We picked it up & dropped it off to the Gunsmith. So this whole quest line is just a Bogus Red Herring to get a weapon that We are already in Possession of.
-
There isn't going to be a rework. End of story. If people want the gun they complete the quest, that's it.
-
Ace of spades is the number one killer in PvP right now so it must not be very hard for most people to get.

1 Replyhaving disabilities is not an excuse, I have 4 disabilities and I got it. The case when people are saying "git gud" to you is your answer to your problem. Don't be that person who uses the "I have a disability" excuse because it shows that you don't have it and yes I am offended to this because I have 4 (you probably have 0) and struggle in learning activities like school , and have to take medication for this. Stop using the "I have disabilities" excuse and GET GOOD
-
I would help you but It seems that you are on PC not xbox. All I can say is get a fireteam of 4 and keep trying,.
-
Its fine, i got my 5 kills. Players shouldnt even stop for anything. You have to kill the invaders. I keep getting motes until s2 invades then i just keep an eye out for them and take them out. I dont go out of my way to get the hc kills. If they are far away i snipe or sleeper them but if they are close enough and aint using their super i used my hc .

52 RepliesI understand that it’s hard seeing as your highest kill game in the last 10 was 7 kills with a 0.24 k/d but you can’t blame Bungie for sucking. 💀🐒
-
Exactly op is right
-
1 ReplyYou are asking for something to be made easy due to a disability.....nope that can't happen, sorry its a stuggle but that is not how it works you dont get a wheelchair ramp in PVP.
-
You are wrong with people who comment gg are discriminating. They are just busting your chops for pouting on the forum. It's not the best quest, I finally got past the gambit part, but it is what it is (I am not looking forward to the crucible part because I suck at PVP too) and we all have to deal with it no matter what our individual circumstances maybe. I know plenty of PVP gamers that needed carries for the Whisper. We all have parts of this game we are good at and parts we suck at. D2 is not a 1 size fits all game.

I share your frustration I don’t get on with PVP due to lots of various reasons including yes I’m not that good. I wish that Bungie would give more pathways maybe a slower more of a grind PVE or a faster PVP route. Anyway as this isn’t the case I’ll add my tips. 1. Try not to stress the achievement just play but with a set up to help you with the achievement. 2. If you have it try a helmet with hand gun aim assist this helped me. 3. Good guns are Crimson or the Drang / Sturm combo. If you can get some adds kills with Drang to boost Sturm you can do some real damage to the invader. I’m currently on the 25 hand cannon precision kills in crucible grind slowly getting there with Crimson. Anyway good luck on getting them damn invaders
-
My best advice is to try to get a team together with your clan that can focus on helping you get the invasion kills (will more than likely lose these matches). Also maybe equipping Crimson & using it as much as possible for about a week or so till you get a really good feel for the gun...

2 RepliesWelcome to the age of equality, now earn it like everyone else guardian!
-
2 RepliesI wouldn't give up. Just keep trying. The "get gud" crowd is all about having an advantage. They want to be the only kids on the block with cool loot. Just ignore em.

3 RepliesEdited by X-LoganX: 9/11/2018 3:23:57 PM
why force competitively for a story gun
It's a Destiny quest not a PVE quest. Come out of your comfort zone for a bit, I bet you're better than you think you are. If you go in thinking you're going to fail then you'll fail. Or don't that's your choice but no ones forcing you to do anything.
-
I think they did this for people that may have just started with Forsaken so that if they want the weapon it pushes them to try the different modes that you can play.
-
It's pretty easy if you use team work. Why don't you invite the solo and help them get their quest done?

2 RepliesI ended up using sturm and drang for my invader kills. It made a huge diff and was much better than crimson for this part, two headshots, or one head and 2 bodies and he's done For the crucible part, I felt like crimson worked the best as far as being sure to land the actual headshot kill. It took 3 full matches to do. But no doubt, the gambit part was very frustrating, and I'm a PVP-centric guy
