I have been having a problem with my forsaken gifted code for quite some time now and have finally found the solution! All you have to do, is go into a support chat with Xbox staff, make sure you have a active code for Forsaken (which I know everyone with this problem does) and that you FULLY own destiny 2 and it’s other DLC. Once you confirm all of that, you can give them your code and they will deactivate it and add the Forsaken DLC straight to your account! See linked images for the chat page of what the agent told me!
UPDATE: If they try and tell you that they cannot do it, the agent you are speaking to most likely just does not know the solution. Tell them to get ahold of the Offline Team, and that should resolve it all.
UPDATE: This fix also works for people who are having problems purchasing the standalone DLC but have the credit already on their account to buy it. I repeat, YOU MUST HAVE THE CREDIT ON YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THIS TO BE DONE. AND BY CREDIT I MEAN THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT, WHICH WAS $42.79 IN MY REGION

It took me 3 chats before I was able to find someone to get it fixed besides suggesting I contact the person who gifted it to me, have THEM request a refund then have them send me a gift card instead.
-
I can now confirm that this fix also works for someone who cannot buy the standalone version normally but has the credit on their account

Currently trying to confirm if this fix also works for people who have credit in their account to buy the DLC but cannot get it in game, and cannot get the standalone.

1 ReplyEven though my problem is resolved, I would like additional compensation for having to deal with this crap. Especially with Bungie support completely ignoring me on twitter AND here.

1 ReplyThank you so much! You helped me immensely!

4 RepliesThis didn't work for me, unfortunately. They told me they would keep my case open and email me once their engineers fixed the issue.

2 RepliesI just tried this with Microsoft support and they refused to do this fix.

6 RepliesI spoke to two different agents over the course of 2 hours and neither could do what you're suggesting. Both said the issue is on Bungie's end not telling them what the code redeems for. While this may be a fix for some it doesn't actually change the problem with the code on Bungie's end.

I chatted with an actual xbox live agent 3 days ago. He literally told me " yea you're like the 4th person to call about this issue, there's nothing i can do on my end. Your best bet is to just wait it out for Bungie to fix the issue." Literally what he told me. so i come to these forums... couldn't find a single thread about what i was experiencing. That was 3 days ago, today was the first day i actually seen a thread. It's obviously on Bungies end. Sad part is, they were ignorant of the problem. Which happens, but when you only use forums for your " support " or whatever you want to call it. Not allowing phone agents or email support is probably not the smartest thing for any company to do, especially since Bungie supposedly " Loves us ". You would figure if they " Love us " they would make it the easiest way to get a hold of someone in actual suppport. Anyway, im cranky and still a little mad about this situation. now im 7 days behind in Destiny 2 might as well be starting over, with as much stuff I'll need to do just to catch up to anyone on my friends list. kinda off topic but i don't care. still love Bungie and the games they produce. just needed to vent a little. ahhhh, much better. please fix soon.
