sat there for 20 minutes while neither side killed their prime waiting for the other team to invade. was one person on our team trying to actually play the game correctly and kill the prime, everyone else wanted hand cannon kills.
It has nothing to do with "git gud", this quest is literally breaking the game mode. it contradicts the entire point of the thing, why would i invade if i cant make progress towards the quest? why would the other team if theyre also going for it, which as more people complete the campaign, more people will be in there just for handcannon kills.
id like to see a total change of this step, but at LEAST make it so you, as an invader, can make progress towards it. at least that will keep pvp in the game while people go for it, will do nothing for the fact that it stalls the living hell out of games but any port in a storm right?

It’s pretty obvious that the Problem is They play test things as devs. This happens with a lot of things where regular players can’t believe this made it into the final game. And then they bring in Youtubers, who play test as youtubers. In other words, both groups of people are excited about the new content and all trying different things to see how they work. But when it gets into the average persons hands at home, they’re just looking for the fastest way to win / complete objectives, which leads to things like 80% sitting in the back of the map with Sleeper, or people not playing the objective so they can farm a bounty. It’s a different mind set. Gambit should have had a twitch reveal and been put into the crucible lab the month right after the Bungie Summit so they had time to see how actual non-professional / dev players would play the game.

1 ReplyThe Ace of Spades exotic quest is ruining Gambit. When I learned what the quest steps were for that exotic hand cannon I knew that would happen. Being proved right brings me no satisfaction.

2 Repliesit's bungies way of making gambit look successful... come Monday, the report shown to the execs will have it appear that the majority of the players spent hours and hours playing gambit because they wanted to when the truth is that it was forced play for an exotic...

6 RepliesI might just say -blam!- it and go after the Luna handcannon instead. If I play Gambit again at all, it will be to farm Truth. The Ace of Spades just isn't worth the stress, especially when people are using that overshield helmet and are basically invincible. I just sank ten handcannon shots into someone and it didn't even scratch their health. Aaaaaanyway, -blam!- Cayde. :D

1 ReplyUpdate. 4/5. enemy team doesnt invade once for 2 games in a row. this is kind of ridiculous.

They should just change it so it counts any player kills. That way you can get it done by invading as well as getting invader kills.

The funny thing is that bungie has always made these kinds of weapon quests that completely contradict team work and the game type’s goals. It befuddles the mind!🤨

The quest won’t change, but over time as these people get their AoS Gambit will stabilize. Sounds like now is the time to get easy Gambit wins and easy triumphs
