You simply don't deserve the Ace of Spades. If you can't handle 5 measily little kills without complaining you don't want it bad enough. Plain and simple. This is one of the first guns requiring just an ounce of skill to obtain. You can't be carried to it, and I personally think its fair.
I've carried alot of people for Whisper, Acrius, and the likes. Its not about elitism, I've done more for this community than 99% of you guys trying to mob this post lmao its just nice to have a gun locked behind skill. Again, just my opinion.

Was more luck of the draw to get a invader who wasnt sitting back with sleeper over skill

3 RepliesI believe that every quest should have a PvP and PvE path to obtaining it. I remember in D1 there were a couple of quest steps (maybe part of the exotic faction class item quests) where the requirement was to get an amount of kills. Crucible kills counted more than PvE kills but either (or both) could be used. Bungie should stop trying to push us into doing certain things and just let people play their way.
-
2 RepliesDude I'm with you. RoI was the start of handouts and D2 went full blown casual. I am not a top 10% Crucible player at all, but I've got the endurance. Lock guns behind skill. Just because you bought the game doesn't mean you get everything. Every game has secret equipment, or shortcuts, or elite stuff. IT IS AN EXOTIC. It's supposed to be rare to find. I believe everyone of us CAN get the gun with our own skill. But if you believe you cannot, then yeah, you don't get the gun. And that is okay. It is by design. Why do you deserve it? This isn't the friggen Strangers Rifle, this is an Exotic man. Go earn it, or luck into it. For the record I help clan members and my rather poor brother through all of these things, raids, quests, and even he gets them. And he has like a .45 KD.

1 ReplyUmm the original Thorn quest as a level 22 was -blam!-ing solid The exotic quest that gave you ‘The First Curse’ required you to get multiple headshot kills with a -blam!-ing garbage hand cannon without reloading. If I remember correctly it was 3 headshot kills without reloading with a 7 round mag. Again, -blam!-ing solid Both of which required skill in their own merit and both were some of the best exotic quests because they were so damn rewarding

I'm not a fan of it due to the overshield, short time the invader is there, etc..... But it's seriously not that bad with crimson. I have 3 of the 5 after 3 matches, and shoukd have been done (got caught in a reload twice FFS) Just gonna take some time. My tip for the not so great at it, like me, is take cover and wait till a teammate suddenly dies. 9 times out of 10 that's where the invader is and he is already minus the overshield.
-
Edited by DRVKC: 9/7/2018 4:44:16 PMIf you have crimson use it. I was dreading this but went way smoother that I thought. Took me about 2 hours to get. Got the invader kills in 3 matches and 25 precision kills in 4 matches. The rest was finding caches and strike kills. I got 167 in the Warden of nothing strike. Though I agree that the wording needs to be better for the invader kills. Once the invader comes, drop what you’re doing and find them as they only have 20 sec in your area.

I’ve finished the quest line already and even I think it’s a stupid step, Unless the invader is running around in the center with a SMG/Shotgun it’s pretty hard to take them out with a hand cannon. Nearly every invader uses a Sleeper and can see everyone on the map, most players aren’t going to let you get a drop on them with a hand cannon. Again unless they’re running around the middle of the map your chances of killing them are pretty bad

3 RepliesI upvoted you for what it’s worth
-
The way I see it I’ll eventually get it. Eventually being the key word here. lol what I want is the crazy paint and go boom trace rifle. I hate raiding but I’ll raid for that.
-
1 ReplyYup. There's a level of entitlement that is so ridiculous they think they deserve the Ace of Spades immediately and the kills should just be given to them in that same day, like jesus. I mostly think its the handholding Y1 brought that spoiled people into thinking they should get everything without putting a miniscule of effort.
-
1 ReplyI'll have you know sir. Oh wait. That's right I got ace of spades. Now with chaperone that was harder because my teammates would get chased causing me to get killed. HOWEVER the gambit kills were easier. I got 13 in one game.
-
I'm not an excellent PvP player, but I still got it yesterday. I think it would be better if you could just kill enemy players in gambit with headshots, invader or invadee. But I think someone that really want to get it could get it in 10 games tops if they tried.
-
3 RepliesOnly thing I think was funny was. "Oh you need parts from caydes stashes." = kill people in gambit. Lol wtf?
-
2 RepliesMust be all the people who quit d2 early on that come back complaining about 5 kills.
-
2 RepliesI got it in 3 games. Would have been just 2 games if more players were invading.
-
Don’t know what this means because I have yet to dive into the quest but sounds good
-
1 ReplyNot to be THAT guy but besides just playing the raid, what part of the acrius quest requires carrying
-
Even getting 5 invader kills in gambit is not that hard but i still won't ever try to get 5 invader kills in gambit because no one wants useless casual player like me to play gambit, so i just make things easier to players who play gambit by never play gambit again which also is the reason why i tried gambit once.

12 RepliesDon’t know what compelled you to write this, but here’s your “Asshole of the Day” trophy. Must be what you wanted.

34 RepliesEdited by One Shot Ted: 9/6/2018 8:24:37 PMPeople have every right to complain about a quest step they don't view as "fun." I already have Ace, but here's why the Gambit part is just plain stupid: -The wording of the quest step: After getting 9 hand cannon kills as an invader in my first game, I realized that none of the kills counted. I figured it out in the next match, but the first was a complete waste. -Having good teammates is detrimental: If your teammates are any good, they'll have already killed the invader before you can get off 3 HC shots. You need to get paired with blueberries or go in with a premade team that leaves the kills to you if you want to succeed. -It ruins Gambit for your team: Players that don't actually want to play Gambit will just sit around waiting for invaders, doing absolutely nothing for the team. This essentially makes it a 3v4 game, which worsens the experience for the other players. -The invader meta is an OHK meta: If the invaders have thumbs amd a few functioning brain cells, they'll only invade if they have a super, Sleeper Simulant ammo, and/or a sniper rifle. Good luck getting hand cannon kills when they can see you through walls and map you instantly. Like I said, the gambit part is just a stupid idea in general. It would have been infinitely better if it was kills as an invader.

Get a friend to run code of the commander sentinel. When an invader comes everyone group together in a confined space and have the sentinel lock the area down with his shield. Then you all go ham with the hand cannon. The invader will see everyone grouped up and rush towards you with his hammers blazing or sleeper. Doesn’t matter, shield blocks it all and the weapons of light will allow you to melt him.
-
It should be like the Chaperone quest. Just Guardian kills in Gambit. And yes I have both the AoS and The Chaperone. Neither was hard. It just forces those who are trying to get invader kills to hoed Hvy and break completely away from the objective.
-
3 RepliesDo you need to get the Invader kills with the handcannon or does it just have to be equipped? Pain in the ass with everyone now using Sleeper.
-
8 RepliesYou would be right Except, this exotic is tied to the story , and it's cannon that your guardian gets caydes weapon . Your guardian has it in there hand This is like saying the strangers rifle or the Young Wolf's Howl should have had a difficult quest. Missplaced elitism, more people will have Whisper and Chaperone than the exotic you are supposed to get from the story And before you say I am just mad that I can't get it, wrong, working on my 250 strike kills, But I still think they made the quest too difficult because it's a story exotic

1 ReplyEdited by NeoReaper82: 9/7/2018 8:00:07 PMI would say this is one of the most idiotic things I've seen on here but in fact what you said is just pure ignorance. You need to be the one who kills a player with a max over shield, in super, and with 3 other players shooting at him. Not to mention all the adds that will be trying to melt your face. BTW I have the gun.

What’s ironic is that I’m usually the one to kill my invaders. And I don’t even have the quest lol
