What's up Guardians! o09m- the Guardian Chef here to share the recipe for what I'm putting in my Foresaken Cayde-6 Spicy Ramen Tribute.
Ingredients:
2- Packages of Soy Sauce Top Ramen
1- Package of Shrimp Top Ramen (Sub chicken flavor if you don't like shrimp)
32 oz Miso Soup broth (Can use vegetable broth, or chicken broth if you are subbing chicken for shrimp)
1- Egg
Frozen uncooked shrimp (Can used cooked-they will shrink way down unless you put them in at the very end- using uncooked and putting them in halfway through brings more flavor), if you subbed chicken you can grill chicken breast with salt pepper and siracha, or you get pre cooked sliced grilled chicken, or shred up hot wings.... if you opt for chicken over shrimp you can add chicken in earlier in the process because it will flavor more through the cooking process and you don't have to worry about it shrinking up like you do the shrimp.
Frozen Peas (only a handful or two)
Sliced up Green Onion
A little slivered carrot
Optional- Dried Shitake Mushrooms
Garlic (whole fresh minced or jarred minced)
Sesame Oil
Soy Sauce
Siracha Sauce
Salt
Pepper
Flaked Red Pepper
In a small bowl, beat the egg enough to mix it together, set aside
Start heating up the broth in a stock pot, once hot and almost boiling slowly drip in the egg while stirring with a fork.
Add the noodles, slivered carrot, Garlic (a few spoon fulls of prepared, or a few sprigs of freshly minced), and dried mushrooms if you opted for them. A few splashes of soy sauce, and a few generous splashes of Sesame Oil.
You can add some salt- a few pinches of salt- not too much because the soy sauce and ramen packets will also add to the salt content (although you know some Guardians can't get too much salt... lol), pepper and a pinch of red pepper.
Let the pot boil until the noodles are almost done. Turn down heat to low to back off the boil, then add the shrimp (thawed and patted dry with a paper towel) Also add the couple handfuls of Frozen Peas.
Add the sliced green onion, let this all simmer on low or warm setting, covered to allow the noodles to soak up broth and flavor, and allow time for the heat of the broth to cook the shrimp.
When you are satisfied with the broth/noodle ratio (like it all soaked up or more soupy) add the flavor packets and more sesame oil/soy sauce/and Siracha to taste to your level of flavor and heat. If it's not spicy enough continue to add Siracha, Crushed Red Pepper, or any other hot spice or sauce you may prefer.
Enjoy Guardians!!!!!!

4 RepliesCould I get more exact times for this? I’ve never made anything past top ramen with a cooked egg on top before and I was gonna make this on Saturday
-
1 ReplyNice. Hopefully this is the beginning of a destiny cook book. :)
-
3 RepliesSoy. Of course, its full of soy.

2 RepliesGo to Walmart. Find the Oriental section - yes they have one. You're looking for Shin Ramen. Red and black package. Walmart keeps it separate from the other Ramen. It's noodles, a dried veggie pack and a pepper pack. Your head will bead sweat after a bite.

1 ReplyHow man people read that in a “Gordon Ramsey” accent?!

A for effort on the post B+ for teaching how to make egg drop soup C for making it egg drop D- for only using sriracha/not understanding how to properly bloom red pepper flake. D not properly utilizing aromatics F no inclusion of arbols, Szechuan, or bird’s eye chilis It’s a semi-passable college-on-a-budget version

1 ReplyI was planning on making some ramen for myself today to commemorate cayde’s passing, thank you! Although I’m probably gonna add some reaper pepper sauce for a lil extra heat.
