So Cayde probably isn’t dead.
First movie clearly showed him take a calculated headshot. Community explodes.
Second movie shows him get thrown through a wall off-screen, and we’re told that we’ll “learn” about Cayde’s fate in Forsaken.
Pretty sleazy plot swap.

Bungie have already stated the first clip was an advertisement, a sneak peak, a trailer. The second (most recent) is in game but only a bit of it, they didn’t want to ruin the whole scene and show the money shot (the death) that’s why it says we will find out his fate later. But he is going to die and isn’t coming back that’s why we have a statue of cayde put up in the tower. Anyone could tell they were not the same clip and one was in game and the other wasn’t.

New trailer takes place before the originally released one, that being said I belive that he will be brought back somehow. Bungie did a giveaway on Reddit 7 Cayde 6 statues, that and the lore tab on the quest ticket.

Pretty sleazy plot swap.[/quote] The first trailer was a teaser is non canon so what that, the second trailer shows cayde getting killed, that was the in game so that happens, the third trailer shows what happens before he gets shot showing how cayde's ghost dies and how he's in bad shape, so you it's really cayde loses his ghost from the barons then gets shot, forget about what happened in the first trailer because it just doesn't happen that way

Uldren stands over a Cayde who points out the situation is awkward, and Uldren says it’s going to hurt a lot. He doesn’t die in that last stand clip, you guys are dumb. He’s just knocked into the next scene.

2 RepliesEdited by Darth Lunchbox: 8/24/2018 6:14:30 PMI'm not sure on the lore but could they get away with saying his consciousness could be loaded into a new exo frame without his ghost to become Cayde 7 since everytime he is revived by his ghost he doesn't become a new Cayde #, he's still Cayde 6 when he is revived by his ghost? Or does the transfer and new number only apply when his exo is damaged beyond repair or something, which makes no sense since ghost completely revives a guardian and repairs them or does that not apply fully to exos....I think I confused myself...

The first was just teasing Caydes death, The latest one is an in-game cinematic for just before Cayde dies.
