“I made this choice for myself yet I’m going to need the game to pander to my desires” type deal.
I mean I get it, it seems cool to run activities solo and lone wolf it, but that is a choice and kinda annoying to think the game and other players have to accommodate.

1 ReplyAs a solo player since day 1 I don't expect the game to pander to me at all, all I ask is that we have an option to matchmake....not forced matchmaking, but optional matchmaking. LFG should be in game, not on a website.

Life style choices are not even close to how someone plays a GAME . Lmao 😂 get back in that tool box !!

1 ReplyYou suck at analogies, bulimic canine.

Agree. I play mainly on my own, yet still don't get that mentality. It's a multiplayer game and activities are designed that way.

2 RepliesSolo players complaining pisses me the hell off. They are worse than PvP crybabies. 👌

19 Replies1. This game was designed to accommodate solo players at both the campaign and mid-game levels. Its only at the END-game (because of design choices by Bungie) that the game suddenly becomes unfriendly to solo players, and EVERY thing starts to require pre-made fire teams. 2. Many players are adult gamers. Which means that they may not have convenient access to other players, or may not want to be forced to have to communicate with other players after working all day. 3. "Just use LFG" is not an acceptable answer because of point 2. An adult gamer may only have a couple of hours a night to play...and doesn't want to be forced to spend half that time looking on websites or depleted clan or friend's lists simply to find other people so that they can play the game. 4. Destiny 1 had a wide variety of end-game activities to suit a wide variety of players by Year 3. its only because of the stripped down nature of Destiny 2s end game...and its condition on release...that this has become an issue....again.

I run solo, what I can't do I don't. No big deal. There isn't anything in this game to get riled up about.

5 RepliesI think there were good sources for solo loot until that warmind soft cap. That reeeally hurt solo players. The game was really changed in the last few updates to accommodate more team play as opposed to solo play. Vanilla D2 was great for solo play, but it was so vilified that the good solo aspects were removed with all the bad.

1 ReplyThe problem solo players have is that they have in no way been recognized and their concerns are ignored. Most of the concerns brought up by solo players would not affect team play in any way, but for some reason people still complain that they’re annoying.

Edited by jjdillinger: 8/21/2018 10:04:09 PMTo be fair dude, Bungie explicitly appealed to them (and everyone else and their dogs!) when they were marketing D2. I remember the presentation they did, “play the way you want to play, go solo, bring friends”. Having said all that, it’s obvious you get the most out of the game when in a good clan. I practically had abandoned the game then found a great clan. Transformed the game for me. Trying to appeal to everyone had been a bit of a problem for Destiny imo.

9 RepliesEdited by HumungousFungus: 8/20/2018 3:24:54 PMTL? DR Never done a Raid (I’ve wandered around the Leviathan sight-seeing once or twice, when I was doing Graviton Catalyst, before getting bored of murdering endless Cabal). Haven’t completed a Nightfall on D2, and only attempted one, solo (completed a few solos on D1 that gave safe cover positions before they were updated - Molok, Sepiks, Omnigul, Archon Priest, Valus etc). Have completed 3 EP’s to date, each one as a bystander joining somebody else’s party (and big thanks to the guys on Sunday afternoon who got me through two consecutive completions at BrayTech with non-stop Super-chaining). No Crucible or Trials in D2, and there will be none. I suck donkeys at PvP. I’m nearly 50 and PvP is a young persons game... Love doing Strikes and Heroic Strikes and looking forward to teams staying together with next update. Positive change Is there a point to this? I’d like to think there is I, like several others on this Forum, I’m sure, have to fit Destiny around a senior role at a big company working long hours and it comes down to my choice in respect of what free time I have available, and, seriously, whether I’ve got the energy to play Would I rather (a) hang around in lobbies with screaming teenagers or worse to do an activity I would absolutely have to be walked through if I wasn’t immediately booted, or (b) drop immediately into the game to play solo or match-made activity that I know I will enjoy. The answer, obviously, is (b). The Raids and Lairs LOOK amazing but, in D2 at least, the rewards and the time investment don’t strike me as worth the extra effort or potential stress. That is a choice that I am happy to make for the free time I have... PS. If we were meant to be Vegan, our appendix would still work. Have some beef.

I was a solo player but even a lone wolf need help too. But I usually find people on lfg to do raid, nightfall, etc... I think the problem with lone wolf is that they’re so adapted to playing solo with their own play style that they can’t adapt to team play style. Or they’re just lazy or scared of being criticized when they fail.

As largely a solo player it annoys me listening to people complain; “I am solo but I want raid gear!” Then stop being solo. While yes I would always be up for more solo friendly content, I don’t expect it to be the total focus of Bungie. As long as I can explore, patrol, and whatnot solo, I am fine with not doing raids or getting said gear. I am not fond of entitlement mentalities.

2 RepliesSure, it was MY choice when my friends and clan mates dropped out of the game several months ago. I'm the jerk for sticking around and wanting to have fun in a game I like.

6 RepliesYou mean like "bad vegans" I'm vegan and I don't yell at other ppl for eating meat lmao

You could make an argument for every side. I mostly play solo, I dont bother with raids because the LFG forums are usually too toxic for me to bother. But I dont complain, I just go play something else that accomodates how I play. I think people need to realize that. If there are other games that make grouping up easier for solo players, go invest in that instead. Id suggest Division or Warframe.

I mean I get it, it seems cool to run activities solo and lone wolf it, but that is a choice and kinda annoying to think the game and other players have to accommodate.
Players, solo or not, don't have to accommodate anyone; Bungie has to accommodate everyone playing. I'm a solo player. How exactly are you accommodating me?

1 ReplyEdited by blade329: 8/20/2018 2:28:19 PMLOL. How exactly are other players "accommodating" us solo guys? That's Bungie's responsibility, and they do a terrible job of it.

1 ReplyI really do not see why anyone is against solo content. If they had lots of additional content that was meant to do all by your lonesome that rewarded cool gear, why in the actual fxck is that a bad thing? Alongside having team content? I mean, I don't really want them to fxck up existing modes just to accommodate solo players. But why in the hell is it inconceivable that dudes would occasionally just want to play some sweet shit by themselves? Top of the list? Maybe think about actually making super challenging adventures and lost sectors? That tell a story and reward flying solo a bit? Instead of the brain dead easy bullshit we call an open world right now?

10 RepliesConsidering raid completions are only up around the 20% mark, it would seem that there is a very large population in Destiny 2 that play solo or only play matchmade activities. Also you see plenty of this over the forums. A player base shouldn’t change to suit the game, that won’t happen. A game should change to suit the player base. It’s good business. While there should always be raids and group activities, there should also be plenty of meaningful content/rewards for solo/matchmaking players too. Emphasis on meaningful. Not just content to play, it needs to have good rewards etc too. You won’t change solo players by ‘locking them out’ of content. You’ll push them away and have less people playing your game. Bad business. With a bit of effort, I think it is possible to please both types of players. Bungie just seems inept in that instance.

2 RepliesEdited by DJCurlyFries: 8/21/2018 3:55:22 AMRaids and the majority of endgame stuff should stay team oriented, but there should be an alternative for solo players. Regardless of what that alternative is it should exist for players that want it. PVP should also have a solo queue imo. I honestly don't see a big problem with solos, their wants are not really affecting people with teams and I am also and advocate for solo endgame activities. I don't always want to be talking and playing with people, sometimes its nice to just chill and grind.

I have been mostly a solo player but thanks to my clan have been able to enjoy the challenges of just about most raids, NF and team activity's. Its really easier than you think to get into a raid or NF but Raids can rally take some time out of your day for first timers. Fun as hell though. I like taking and giving shit to all that participate and give a loud shout out to those that help us Solo's. This game has a specific attraction to us "50" yr olds ;-). Of course I was 46 when I started. I think??????...... Anyways. My kid got me into this game. And its the attraction of flying, shooting and blowing shit up. Just gets our blood pumping. I popped on to a Iron Banner game with 4 of my clan mates the other night. Needless to say I was extremely embarrassed but none of them gave a shit and carried me thru like a little bitch. Great bunch of guys and gals. Keep on fighting hard and nothing wrong with being a solo. As I always say. Kill many and Die often!
