What if Warlock rifts removed status effects?

Warlocks remain the only class without a melee that applies a status effect. Not counting the burn from solar melees which definitely should burn across all classes. I mean melee effects where you're slowed, visions blurred Etc. As a counter, I feel like warlocks should get the ability to remove all status effects when casting a rift even if it requires a revamped vesper of radius or sanguine alchemy or alchemists rainment to return.

  • That would be cool yeah but honestly not that necessary. I feel like status affects aren't that big of a thing, save burning or the void suppression caused by tractor Cannon & that one Titan grenade.

      • What exactly do you consider a status effect? Superior retainer and engulfed are status effects, but without those nobody could finish Spire of stars

      • If it kills they explode and make everyone else explode, or chains and hits multiple people anyhow, or fully heals you. Let's not forget extended range, nah Let's wait til forsaken for more warlock stuff

      • I don't know - that seems unfair, I main Warlock and the rift already gives 2 different buffs (that Titan bubble had in D1), and with the right exotic - auto reload... Warlock is easily the best class!

        So the warlock melee for dawnblade that sets enemies of fire isn’t a status effect?? Weird since I thought it was

        • That's a brilliant idea. There would probably have to be some raid limitation on it, but otherwise this would be a good fit. I like how this stays with the theme that Warlocks don't fight dirty (no poison, smoke, suppression, etc.) in Destiny.

        • If you guys really think about it...how op would guerrilla fighter be on a titan using rally barricade? Empowering will grant 25% faster recharge to abilities while healing grants +5 recovery to all allies who stood in the rift for a few seconds. Rally barricades should grant damage resistance (10%) and a small amount of ammo (like 15%) every time you peek over the shield (have the ammo replenish be on a 2 second cooldown) Towering barricade should have an additional 2 pieces added to it that allows for protection but the ability to shoot through it(but at greatly reduced protection) the parts you can shoot through will be a more glossy blue to show the difference. Hunter roll should grant all nearby allies melee charge or reload the ammo in their guns.

          • Warlock rifts need something additional to it. Either faster casting or slow enemies within it

          • I think rifts should make warlocks invincible for 1 hour and it should be applied to all teammates particularly in pvp. This way titAn mains will have more things to cry about

                And yet the warlock is the only character that has a self healing melee that provides continuous healing upon each kill. We should just let each character have Devour. Hey, why not give each character dodge too. Titans are the only class that can shoulder charge, let’s give all of them shoulder charge. Let’s just get rid of three characters and have one character. Why do we have to have unique abilities for each character? What is this an RPG?
