Not everyone likes the whole “kill the other guys more times than they kill you” mindset in pvp. Some of us miss the old halo days of playing capture the flag, griffball, and infected. Not all types of players are being represented here. And SOME of us are so bored of playing the same old “clash/slayer/team deathmatch” style modes because we’ve been playing them since the 90’s. Some of us are sick of the awful toxic demeaning competitive crowd that belittle people who don’t have a 2.0 kd. Some of us are sick of hearing “git good scrub” and “you’re trash kid”. Some of us are sick of the snarky attitudes from the pvp streamers and all their wannabe fangirls that act exactly like them. Some of us want FUN pvp game modes, not COMPETITIVE game modes.

1 ReplyWell I'm glad you're not spamming the forums, but this is building onto a post to another level. This isn't the same Bungie that made those game modes you're so fond of, but with how shit that's been going on something is going to happen. I haven't looked into it yet but crucible labs seems like a good start.

Griffball was the greatest pvp game mode of all time

Halo’s version of objective game mode: Objective that is fun and requires you to play the objective in order to win. Destiny’s version of objective game mode: Objective that can be overlooked because killing the other team is worth more points than playing the objective. Hence, all objective game modes are actually clash in disguise.

Edited by SirNicolasCage: 8/10/2018 12:59:03 PMThis post LITERALLY got downvoted by some competitive pvp purist who thinks objective game modes are for scrubs. THAT’S what I’m talking about. The competitive pvp community is unbearable.

Catering to one type of gamer doesn’t make for an exciting experience for everyone. It creates a toxic mess for players who don’t want to play that certain way.

Remember when halo 3 had the capture gallery and the whole community would post funny gameplay clips and screenshots? That was a pvp community. It was lighthearted fun. And pvp was diverse and catered to all kinds of players. Destiny pvp caters to 1 type of pvp player: the worst kind.

Woke up today and decided to play destiny pvp. The game mode choices were so diverse. I had 6 game modes to choose from: Clash Clash Clash Clash Clash And countdown (also referred to as clash, or you’re a noob). Naturally, I turned off the console and instead watched old machinema videos of halo 3 gameplay because halo 3 had actual fun game modes whereas destiny has at least 5 game modes that are literally clash.

Every game mode is clash. Control is clash with kill modifiers. Supremacy is clash, but you have to pick up dead guardian poop for bonus points. Doubles is literally clash. Rumble is literally clash. Mayhem is clash with supers. Survival is clash, but it lasts way too long. Countdown is ALMOST FUN, but no one focuses on the objective because it’s easier to just play it like CLASH.
