Hello there! Greg The Dreg here,
So I've spent a good chunk of the day grinding some of the Solstice of Heroes stuff, still got some things to do but I'm almost halfway finished with the Rekindled gear set. (for my Titan at least)
I've read through the forums and seen a lot of posts about being unable to solo the Redux missions, so I figured I'd make a detailed guide on how to complete each and every Redux mission easily and effectively. You may fail a few times but hopefully this guide can make the missions a lot easier to solo!
Warning: This post is long.
Starting off, when you first begin your Solstice of Heroes quest, you'll be going to a special social space (unfortunately for about 30 seconds and that's it) to pick up your first redux mission.
Homecoming: (First Run)
This mission is the easiest, as it's relatively short and on your first playthrough you'll get to use your standard gear, so if you've got any exotics you wanna use, feel free to do so!
Since this is the easiest and by far the fastest, I'm going to keep this one short!
Once you complete the mission, you'll be rewarded with the Scorched armor set for your character.
Homecoming: (Second Run)
On your second run, you'll need to be wearing your full set of Scorched gear. It's a tad bit more difficult, as you'll be at a lower power level than your first run.
Right off the bat you'll probably notice a few things:
There are a LOT of orange bar enemies (Majors) and many more yellow bar enemies (Ultras) than usual. The best option is to keep your distance away from the large groups,as it's very easy to get overwhelmed.
As soon as you begin the mission, you'll find yourself already fighting a yellow bar enemy. Make sure the enemies have the higher ground than you. Hiding lower than them is very effective, as being higher than them will usually result in them leaping up to your level anyway.
The weapons I used for this mission were:
Primary/Kinetic: Braytech Winter Wolf (Auto Rifle)
Secondary/Energy: Graviton Lance (Pulse Rifle, Void)
Heavy/Power: Classical 42 (Rocket Launcher, Solar)
Subclass used: Sunbreaker (Code of the Seigebreaker)
Sunspots work quite well and it helps make your super last longer, which is very effective for taking out enemies in quick succession.
Any ability kill (melee, grenade, super) will restore a good chunk of your health instantly, which can get you out of some situations where you'd otherwise be overwhelmed.
The mission goes on the same for a while, just with more enemies. Keep your distance and use cover, don't take any risk you aren't sure of. You'd be surprised how far back you can get sent back in the mission if you die. (especially in Payback)
Once you reach the room where with the turbines, hop down to a lower level, and a mass of enemies will spawn. The main boss is a colossus and is guarded by two orange bar Incendiors while a few red and orange bar Legionaries will rush you. Don't get too close to the boss or you can risk being blown back, potentially into the turbines.
If you have your super, use it and focus your fire on the boss. Taking out the boss and the Incendiors will immediately finish the mission and you won't need to worry about killing the Legionaries.
First mission complete! On to the next.
Spark:
This is a longer mission, full of surprises!
Weapons used: Same loadout for Homecoming Redux
Subclass: Same Subclass
Starting off, you'll instantly find yourself facing off against a Fallen Walker. However, a few orange bar Tracer Shanks are hiding below, be sure to take them out first!
The Walker can be attacked in the same ways as always. Just be careful, you have a lower light level than usual!
I especially recommend any Rocket Launcher with the cluster bombs perk, it can usually take out the legs in 1 - 2 rockets.
Once you defeat the Walker, it's a matter of defeating hordes of dregs, vandals, and shanks for a while. Won't go into much detail here. I assume you know how to shoot.
Eventually you'll get to a point where multiple Heavy Shanks will appear. TAKE. COVER. They have very good accuracy and even 2 of them can overwhelm you without the use of cover.
Once you finally pass this segment, you'll reach the boss. A giant Servitor... except it isn't that easy. Don't waste your super on this Servitor, you will regret it.
Once you defeat this large Servitor, it'll split into multiple normal sized Servitors. Defeating one of these will make it split into MINI SERVITORS. It's pure chaos, I recommend running from one side of the arena to another when you have the chance, that way you'll get to take a breather and not get overwhelmed.
Don't hide in a corner. You'll probably get killed very quickly. These little Servitors are relentless.
But once you defeat them, you'll finally be finished with the mission. Onto the next!
Payback:
I've seen a LOT of posts about this particular mission.
There isn't much of a required loadout or subclass for this mission, just use what you're most comfortable with, because your weapons are your last resort.
Starting off, the mission only spawns 2 tanks. One at the very beginning of the mission, and one at the end when you reach the Sunken Isles.
However, if you find any spots where a tank would usually spawn in the normal mission, ride over it, your tank will begin to heal. HOWEVER, it will only heal up to half if it is lower than half before restoring. If your tank is in the red, you'll only be able to heal it up to about a third.
You're gonna want to keep your first tank alive for almost the whole mission. It may seem impossible at first, and in a mission with a tank it's only natural to want to go in blowing everything up and running everything over.
This time, you're gonna want to be more careful. Keep your tank towards the back of rooms. The tank has a very long range with very minimal projectile falloff, so you can snipe enemies across a very long range. Use this to your advantage, you'll be able to kill enemies and they won't be able to do anything, they won't shoot you when you're far away. Only Psions at times.
Remember to use the lock-on missiles to stop missiles from enemy ships hitting you. They take a lot of health off!
Also, throughout the level there are many destructible objects. Namely, giant bombs hanging from the ceiling. Shoot them from a distance and they'll fall down right onto your enemies. Most of the time enemies are just standing under these bombs, so if you see a group of enemies in the distance, look towards the ceiling!
Also, keep your distance when fighting Goliath tanks. They can obliterate your health if they land just one good shot. Try to strafe if you can! (Although it's hard in a tank)
Finally, you'll reach the Sunken Isles. Feel free to hop out of your tank and into the second one, which will have full health!
Your new objective is to destroy enemy vehicles. Anything from ships, to Interceptors, to Goliath tanks count! Once you destroy 8 vehicles, you'll be tasked with a final objective: Defeat the Cabal commander. The area where the commander is at, is blocked off and you won't be able to get there from your tank.
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TANK. There are many orange bar enemies, a Goliath tank, and more.
Stay in, find a good vantage point, and snipe the commander from a distance. The mission ends once you defeat the commander.
My hands hurt. Off to the next mission!
1AU:
This is one of the most stressful missions to solo in my opinion. Limited cover, swarms of War Beasts, Gladiators, all in almost every room.
My loadout:
Primary/Kinetic: Braytech Winter Wolf (Auto Rifle)
Secondary/Energy: Polaris Lance (Scout Rifle, Solar, Masterworked)
Heavy/Power: A Single Clap (Sniper Rifle, Arc)
Subclass: Sentinel (Code of the Protector)
So, for the mission, the first segment is fairly simple. Shoot enemies, hide, prioritize fast, rushing targets (War Beasts, Gladiators) instead of slower ones who don't rush you.
It's mostly clearing enemies throughout the whole mission, and is fairly simple, up until you pass the Mineral Processing room. Upon entering the next space (Sunside) you'll be greeted by a group of orange and red bar War Beasts. You'll be in a confined area and a Legionary will be trying to shoot you if you try jumping to higher ground. Don't be afraid to use your super at this part.
You'll eventually get to the part where you need to take cover in the shadows to avoid being burnt to death by the sun. Many enemies will be spawning. You'll need to run to just about every bit of cover there is, because not only will a drop pod most likely crush you if you run too far too fast, you'll also be overwhelmed fast.
Take this part slow. Enemies are stupid here, so often times they'll just stand out in the open, so if you really need to, they'll sometimes die by burning to death if you wait.
This part is tough, prioritize long range weapons in this segment.
Once you get past that, you'll be facing a few more enemies here and there, but you'll eventually reach the final part of this area (Sunside) which will be the room where you need to run into this tube and get sent closer to the center of the Almighty. Clear out the enemies here, keep the high ground here! And stay at a long range. You'll be up against two yellow bar Colossi and many other troops. Beat them, and you'll get to head through the tube to the final area. (Light's End)
Here, instead of getting into an interceptor like the original mission, you'll be using a tank. Don't get cocky, it's your only one! Use the same tactics you used in Payback to defeat two Goliath tanks. Try strafing and long range shots. Blow up the two tanks and the mission will end.
I'll be making a post later for the Chosen redux mission and new strategies for the Rekindled armor versions of the Redux missions, which are a LOT more difficult.
I've reached the text limit so I'll make another post for the rest of my guide later!
Good luck!

1AU was a little frustrating but the rest weren’t too bad solo. Ran a few with a friend and it was much easier.
