Why grind for 400 power armor?
Seems like when Forsaken launches, itll be obsolete fairly quickly anyway. Just like every expansion and DLC, power level currently is useless and with everything being able to be infused theres no real reason to do this hefty grind...
Edit: I really did not expect this many responses. Good to see how many people have their opinion on this. Really hoping that Forsaken is going to be good like The Taken King was good for D1. I haven't preordered and don't plan on buying it until a month or 2 after and reading some long term reviews and seeing the state of these forums.

Because the armor is cool. With looter games, EVERYTHING has an expiration date. Stopping to say “why bother” probably means you’d be better off playing something else to begin with. Luckily, there are some promising single-player RPG’s on the horizon where obsolete gear isn’t part of the experience.

Its honestly not that much of a grind and i love the cosmetics. Thats my reasoning anyway. Want that ship and to see how the cloak looks because i hate almost all of them in the game.

1 ReplyIf you have the time sure go for it. IMO the rewards don't justify the investment so...I'm passing. Finishing up whisper quest and chasing catalysts is what I'm doing before expansion.

6 RepliesHonestly just trying to get the masterworked armor cause it's unique. I don't really care about the 400 light. Not looking forward to do the same stuff on three characters though. Some objectives are tedious as heck.

For looks, and honestly if you add really nice armor to a game people will grind for it to look nice.

6 RepliesIt’s mainly just a trophy. There will be no benefit once forsaken launches, but you can keep the armor as a symbol that you did everything y1 of D2 had to offer

I want the armour set because i'm a collector, i like to complete tasks etc. however i won't be grinding anything, i'll do the requirements but over the month not in the first few days like some have already. for example i'm not grinding crucible for the super kills, instead i'll wait for mayhem for that.

Just got my 400 armour and can’t infuse it to my normal legendary gear. Sucks cause I hate getting mods.

I don't need the extra 15pp and the armour itself will become obsolete since I know I won't achieve master work for most of the set. And of course there's the obvious factor... This hefty grind for 15pp will become a 0 effort task for that same 15pp once Forsaken drops. Breathing confetti every time I go to the tower is all I need to celebrate year one. ^__^

If I was out of content I would be all for it but I still have lots of other tasks. Polaris lance, whisper, still trying to finish catalysts...maxing out to 380, others... so I’ll skip this I think.

The 400 armour might as well be cosmetic, because being over leveled counts for nothing in destiny 2. There is one activity that is 400, which is the heroic whisper mission, however you get a damage bonus anyways if going in with someone who has catalyst progression, so the higher level doesnt even really matter for that mission. Other than that a level 400 and a level 380 are basically the same in any 380 activity.
