I don’t think there’s a need for explanation here...

Nixing? Removing? I agree.
-
Seems like you just don’t have a reason.

1 ReplyI'd rather they just quit being lazy and separately balanced the two modes or at worst, made pve the priority and told the pvp players to deal wth it rather than the other way around. I'm not really PVPer yet I like the option that it is there if I want to change things up so I wouldn't want to see it be gone unless something else was put in its place like say a dedicated escalation protocol game mode where you could battle in different maps and against different enemies.
-
3 RepliesHonestly, I’d rather them focus and flesh out PvP beyond a couple playlists. Custom Games, a map editor, plethora of game modes, a good way to select those game modes(Titanfall 2 mixtape comes to mind), and patches that come out more than once every six months. I feel if they took the time to really invest in PvP it could be a lot of fun for anyone

Im not a huge PvP guy. I use it for milestones and achieving certain goals. I enjoy it on occasion but in small doses. That being said I don't think removing it is necessarily a cure. I think they need to just separate the balancing of all gear, weapons and classes between PvP and PvE so that one doesn't affect the other. I think we would find a much better middle ground for all parties involved. Just as a side note I know there are other issues with PvP to address but as far as impacting PvE balancing is the biggest drawback without separating the two.
-
2 RepliesYes, yes & double yes! We got in this d2 mess because of pvp “balance”... I play this game for strictly pve!
-
The game would definitely do better without it. Sure it might lose some of the hardcore pvp only playerbase, but since a lot of those players seem toxic (from my experiences) it wouldn’t be a huge loss. But pve would probably thrive more because of it, attracting more pve players.
-
They need to seperate pvp and pve with all of the other changes and stuff they need to fix.
-
1 ReplyI have been saying this since D1 Y1. It seems that no matter how badly their changes for PVP affect PVE they will keep trying to make PVP an enjoyable event. They almost ruined PVE in Destiny 1 because of all the changes to PVP they made, most of the exotics were nerfed into oblivion and used as nothing more than collectible items taking up space in our vaults. The more they try to make PVP better the more damage it does for PVE and there have been thousands of complaints about it and yet they still keep trying lol
-
3 RepliesRidiculous and selfish. Posts like these and posters like you make me sick.
-
Well played.
🎣
-
I've got a better idea. Consider stopping game development forever? Maybe move into a new industry? Trash collection? They made enough of it, time to pay the environment back?
-
The only thing that should be nixed here is your post.
-
3 RepliesGame would die. Bungie doesn’t want that.
-
3 RepliesPvp is what keeps this game alive during a content drought. They just need to buff everything instead of nerfing everything like they did in d1.

Edited by Dark Raven 2501: 7/29/2018 2:23:18 AMWow you imagine what they could do with the extra resources for pve if they downsized pvp it would be mind blowing we could even get a decent game that works for once and maybe pve patrol might ventrally get a update that doesn’t screw it over when it comes to rewards
-
-
Agreed. They’ve done everything they can to drive people away so it’s probably a good time to eliminate it altogether.
-
One can only hope.
-
Yep, done nothing but ruin PvE. I'd say let it rot. 6v6 is nice and all, but meh. And take the toxic community with it. Or atleast keep it wide away from PvE, where it can't affect it. (And before you lot go headhunting against me, I know PvE has toxicity. But PvP makes it feel tiny compared to its community)
-
Honestly. PvP in Destiny has done nothing but harm the PvE experience since day one.
-
1 ReplyYes please. It's done nothing but ruin the franchise. Let it die, so we can get the epic PvE franchise we were promised.
-
Edited by AAAbuser: 7/29/2018 2:04:20 PMThey will never let go of PVP, as it's the cheapest form of content they can offer, and it's acting as a filler activity during content droughts. As much as I like PVP in general, this game's piss poor travesty of player vs. player content is nothing that would be missed for longer than a week. Purposeless training ground battles on cheapskate p2p infrastructure with game modes from the 90s, it's a sad joke how much they're clinging to it just because a few peeps in their office take it serious due to their Halo background.

Edited by One Shot Ted: 7/29/2018 12:51:22 AMIt's been time for a long, long time.

5 RepliesEdited by QUANTUM-CHUNGUS: 7/28/2018 3:35:23 PM6v6 has already improved it greatly in Quickplay. With some weapon tuning, new maps and the upcoming weapon slot changes it can only get better. Bungie doesn't need to 'nix' anything. If you don't like it, don't play it.
