Stop Complaining about 400 Power Weapons Locked in Raids!!
Check my history. I don’t raid much. However, I remember most of the best gear in D1 being locked in raids. I also see people here touting D1 as great...do you not see the hypocrisy? Do you forget so soon?
The raid and lairs in D2 are good if you take the time to learn them. Fun even! I just wish there were more full raids. I’m a mother of 3 who works full time so I don’t have a straight 2 hours to raid most of the time and I’m fine with that. Just try the raids guys. They are the most fun I have had in D2, outside of EP farming (that’s a great time). The best gear should be the most difficult to get. Now is the gear in the raids truly the best? That’s debate-able. I don’t see a black hammer, VoC or anything like that...but just do the raids if you want 400 gear and stop complaining! It’s just tiring.
How much salt from this, huh?

1 ReplyWhat bothers me most about the complaints is that when Forsaken drops, everyone will get higher light level gear. This is a tiny leg up for players up to the challenge to obtain items six weeks early. When September arrives, everyone will be able to rank up.

It’s possible that there’s 0 hypocrisy because the people saying they prefer the D1 reward system are going to be different than the ones saying that 400 light weapons from the raid is bad.

Hit the nail on the head. I still have yet to complete the raid or lairs. Put in some serious hours at work and when i get home I have 3 toddlers climbing all over me. So i cant really raid until they go to sleep. By that time im far from sober and all my buddies be asleep. -inset mini violin here- Managed to catch a group farming EP last week and that was fun as all hell I remember how much fun I had beating Atheon, Oryx, or Crota. Never got around to beating Aksis. Cheers

1 ReplyI understand doing the raids if you want raid gear. Personally, I think the EOW raid gear and weapons look like something straight out of Liberace's closet, but thats just me. I don't think that 400 level gear should be locked in the raid or not be able to be used to upgrade non raid gear. I did all the raids in D1 but doing those raids is not what got me to max level gear. I haven't done the raid in D2, most likely won't, just not into the raid thing anymore, but al least for now since power/light level don't matter outside the raid for most activities, it doesn't really matter anyway.

Nailed on! The prestige raid lairs are the only activity that is viable for the use of 400 gear and even then it’s not a necessity. Iron Banner in D1 whilst it did mean you could get to level 30 in the first place made sense, as If I remember rightly, iron banner in the beginning had level advantages which made it an end game activity. Iron banner no longer requires that as crucible has no power level advantages(including Trials) in D2. So it shouldn’t be an activity that gives out 400 gear when it’s not needed. All in all agree that the highest gear should be behind the highest levelled content. That gives people the incentive to try the raids and play the raids and have some reward from the raids. Though the 400 is purely a number and doesn’t give any advantage whatsoever in anything bar prestige raid lairs. Also, at the end of the day, come forsaken its gonna mean absolutely nothing anyway when we’re all past 400 in the first day 😂

1 ReplyYes but you could still get to the maximum light level without doing raids, this seems to be the point you have missed!! Some of the best gear was locked in raids and harder stories modes etc yes, but it still didn't prevent you from getting to the maximum light level in Destiny 1!

12 RepliesOkay I will bite. Guess what I did raid in D1 and still do some in D2 when I can. Have you forgot though that in D1 we could also get highest light level gear from Iron Banner? That is what got around the terrible drop rate for boots in Vault of glass. Don't just try to remember with rose colored glasses. See things for how they really are.
