Destiny 2 hardware-crashes since "Warmind"

I have got a new computer a while ago, a few weeks after the patch ''Warmind''. Since then the game crashes the hardware - forces it to restart the desktop. At first i thought it was my pc and controlled everything since it was a new pc but nothing, then i realized that the only time it crashes is when i run destiny 2, sometimes in 30 sec sometimes goes a while up to 15 mins or something but everytime it creashes the hardware. All my Drivers are up-to-date and my conponents are Intel I7-8700k Evga Nvidia GTX 1070ti 16 gb ram 2400mhz MSI Tomahawk Z370 The Temperatures don't go over 60C, I used to use laptop so i am mentally sensitive with the temperature i don't let them go 65C, and destiny 2 doesn't even pushes my hardware to near that. I already reinstalled destiny 2, Scanned and repaired, Tried lower versions of drivers, Reinstalled windows ( format ) and many other things i saw on the internet. Please help!

  • Hi there LiathLuachra! That looks like you have been very busy trying to diagnose your computer. First of all your system is really good and I don't think you should be encountering these issues on that hardware. You are also not the only one encountering a problem since the Warmind expansion pack, Bungie have mentioned in other threads that they are investigating issues related to performance, frame rates, etc. on the PC. What we can do is look at what can be done if anything to alleviate problems, since there does appear to be a problem in the PC build of the game for some users. To this end I have a few questions. 1. What is your PSU, how many Watts? 2. Do you encounter issues with other games crashing in a similar way? 3. Have you updated your computer's BIOS at all? Good luck!

    • Greetings! Thank you for your report. What areas in Destiny 2 are crashing for you? Are you doing anything, perhaps in an activity, when it crashes?

      • I was fine until I installed my new RX 580, or at least that's when the problems became noticeable for me. I have never had a crash involving Destiny 2 until the last few days, and now it's totally unplayable, crashing so often that my event viewer was filled with errors and warnings. After spending the entire day - and my very valuable free time - trying to solve the issue without success, I am sending back the card, throwing in the towel, and moving over to the Xbox version. It may look worse, but at least it will be playable!

      • its a widespread issue for us all sadly and bungie has yet to have a fix. "just scan and repair or delete your cvars or rollback drivers" thats what they say and it does nothing for the problem
