Swords need a massive ammo buff - Day 1

  • I kind of wish swords didn’t have ammo in PVE but then again I prefer other FPS games where you can one shot people by knifing so running around with a knife only setup was viable.

          • I could see a buff in pve. However, I’m sure they don’t want you using a sword the entire strike anyway. Pvp...forget about it. You do get very little ammo per brick, but you can get 4+ bricks a game. Depending on game type/time, and how many teammates are concerned with heavy.

            • I agree for pve, it should be like it was in D1, between 55 and 68. Swords are almost useless in pve, especially with these new heroic strikes

            • I think it's beautiful how bungie said they would adjust pve to accommodate for double primaries, and then proceeded to nerf all the heavy weapons into the ground, add a static "juggler" effect into the game, and then give enemies more abilities and buff the existing ones (example: hobgoblins regenerate all their health, psions can fling you into the air with a grenade that creates and aoe that can kill a full health guardian in 2 seconds if they stand in it, ect)

                Honestly, since I started using full auto shotguns like Zenith Of Your Kind and Perfect Paradox, I've never really used a sword again and even deem them inferior now. We need swords like Dark Drinker again, and the intrinsic sword perks need an overhaul. Let them define the secondary attack. A small whirlwind like Link does in Zelda games, for example. That triple whirlwind can stay exclusive to Dark Drinker, or exotic swords. Then the uppercut we already have, and which is quite similiar to the exotic Solar sword. And a similiar effect of that Arc sword which shot an arc frisbee. I forgot those names, shame on me. Or look at Infinity War. The Wakandan spears can shoot energy beams. Add something like that to some swords. It's the future. We have Light, Void, Arc and Solar powers. Don't let swords be simple swords. D1 exotic swords did it right. And yes an ammo buff is needed as well. Perhaps stronger parrying as well. All I said is in regards to PvE, btw.

                • Swords are in a strange situation imo, they are kinda good but not the Best in anything imo. In pvp ammo goes down way too quickly and in pve you mainly use Swords for the fun and add clearing.

                  • Now that i think about it. We are returning to a game where shoguns/fusions/snipers will be very prominent in PvP. Which means goodbye sword since im going to get killed before i can even get close to use one.

                    • Swords are kinda broken in pvp with the one shot and aim assist,but in PvE it is useful for about 7 seconds and only in a boss fight where it doesn’t one shot.I say boost the ammo given for the sword by 4 or 5 but make no change in PvP .

                            • I'd say they should buff the max amount of energy swords can get up to but keep the amount you can obtain from a heavy ammo brick to sorta have it remain as is in terms of crucible. Then again, just buffing the pve damage would also be pretty neat.
