Simple solution:

If you don’t want to buy it, you don’t have to buy it. If you’re upset about the price, wait for prices to drop - you don’t have to be a day one extremist. If you’re just plain salty that the sliver of a preview we received actually looked good, gtfo.

    • I like the ones that start 'remember' or lay out the info we all saw in the reveal as if they're somehow more knowledgeable. Because they can't bear the thought someone could enjoy something they don't. I imagine a lot of them are just worried because they can't ask mum and dad for more money. I wonder if they go up to people in restaurants eating food they don't like and tell them how bad it is.

      • I’m sick of reading people’s sob stories and the “I’m not getting the dlc and here’s why.” Just don’t get it. Other people don’t care. Find a game you like and play that instead, don’t just skulk around the forums bashing the game you left.

This isn't a forum so much as it is and online Gamer's AA meeting. This is where the gamer's with the most mental problems and Lack of Common Sense Show up. Some of them are fun to respond to but you have to weed through this Haystack of kids, welfare babies and basement dwellers with entitlement issues

          • Its hilarious that the same people complaining about everything about the game and said they are done with destiny now complain about the price. Why does it matter to you? Thought you guys were done.

            • I’ll get it because I enjoy Destiny as a whole. I don’t really play many other games, as I can never find many decent games about. As long as the game fulfils what they’ve shown in the trailers content wise. It’ll be money well spent for me.

Been reading the forums since the reveal has launched, and maybe someone can explain because I am not understanding why there is controversial over the Annual Pass. For what I understand, and please correct me if I am wrong, the Annual Pass is to pay upfront for the 3 DLCs that will be released later on instead of paying for them one by one when they are released. But paying upfront will provide a small discount I don't pre-order anything, I never saw the point of it. But I don't understand why there are people are so pissed out it. Or is it simply because there a price tag of $70 is causing the concern? If that is the case, wouldn't the $70 dollars still be cheaper than paying for each DLC when they release? Kind of like a Season Pass?

                • I dont see what is wrong with people voicing their displeasure with the idea of things like a subscription fee. I mean isnt people being vocal about their displeasure eith the game how we have gotten some much needed improvements both recently and scheduled for the future. Not surprisingly people are not huge fans of bungie proposing that they triple dip into their community. The community wasnt to happy when they wanted to double dip with eververse. And people said just wait and see it will be fine, this is so they can make more content. Most everyone said ok, since in dedtiny 1 things seemed to be going in a good direction by the end. And then low and behold we got the disaster that is destiny 2, where eververse suddenly became a massive issue. Basically bungie has already shown us that if we give them an inche they will try to take a mile. This is not to say that this new idea of theirs wont turn out well, but we have been burnt one to many times so it makes sense for people to be cautious, and potentially angry/annoyed about the prospect of them doing it again. It also doesn't help that at this rate bungie will have almost ever single method deployed for its fans to pay them. The vast majority of games choose one, maybe two or two and a half methods in order to pay for their game, while bungie apparently requires 3.

Actually if you wish to continue playing d2 you HAVE to buy it or you can no longer survive in iron banner or trials at all. Not only do you have to buy the new dlc and the annual but you will also have to purchase the first 2 dlcs as well.

Can also wait for more details too. Thats what I'm doing. If the nature of the 3 DLCs appeal to me, I'll get the pass. If not, I'll just get Forsaken and if one of the DLCs turns out to be good, I'll get that too. Yes, some people will buy blind, but they either love the game enough to do that, or they are chronically stupid. EDIT: also, day 1 extremist LOL

Well these changes aren't for you, lets just get that out of the way. If you are happy with what you've gotten so far and would have bought what ever they released because it's Bungie then you really should not be commenting. This is targeted at the players that left the game. Bungie cannot continue to exist without a solid player base and they no longer have one. The question is is it enough to win players back? Don't know the jury is still out, more details will be released at E3. This is the Hail Mary pass in the 4th quarter on the 4th down for Bungie if you haven't realized it. Yes players are concerned. Did they just put lipstick on a pig? Players could play Warmind without buying Osiris but are now forced to purchase out of date content to play Forsaken, yes it's a money grab. If players have only played D2 vanilla they have to shell out an extra $40 just to play the expansion they want to try to see if the game is fun again. That kind of strategy will keep more players away than it will invite back into the fold.

                        • No chance in hell im going to to get the annual pass. I got the initial season pass thinking “well it’s a no brainer right”. Well, that was a mistake so I won’t make it again. I’ll definitely get Forsaken though and if I’m still enjoying it by December then I’ll get the next expansion too, and the next one. It will cost me more in the long run, but, principles really. What I’m not going to do though is cry about it because like you said nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything. The whole argument about having to own CoO and Warmind to play Forsaken? Gtfo, there is no -blam!-ing way anybody on these forums is still only playing vanilla D2. People that cry about that are the reason we still have 270 nightfall’s and cant get high level gear from Heroic strikes. TLDR if you like the game and want to keep playing, but are wary, buy the expansions as they release. If you’re not wary or if 70 quid isn’t a lot of money to you, buy the pass. It’s not like the expansions are gated behind owing the pass. It’s a nonsense reason to get upset.

                          • I am not quite sure what people are complaining about, and I agree with you 100%. People playing D2 now, bought D2. And just like with anything you buy, sometimes it lives up to expectations, sometimes it doesn't. D2 IMO was unfinished at launch, but they have taken steps to rectify this over the past 8 months. The expansions, did what they were supposed to. They expanded the game. Again, if people don't like this change or that change, well, that's not really Bungie's fault. They made the product they made. If you like it, great, if not, ok, cool, don't buy into the next release. But for people to say "this isn't worth it", or such and such should be free? That's plain silly. So long as they leave access to the base areas and activities in D2 available to all players. EVERYTHING else that comes with an expansion should come WITH the expansion and no one should have an expectation of anything but core game changes without paying for it.

People who are complaining want to be day one extremist or were.... Hell many of us were madly in love with the game. Knowing that bad business practices are bad for the community shouldnt be seen as hate. Sure, alot of people are talking mad shizz but alot of us are just infuriated with thia decision of a dlc within dlc. Its not right!
