I’m enjoying the Warmind dlc for the most part and I think the improvements they made to exotics are nice and all but I gotta say...the grind this time around just isn’t what it used to be.
I used to hurry home from work to get online and game all evening before the weekly reset.
Now I’m just kinda indifferent to it all. I really don’t care if I get all the cool new loot or not. There’s no incentive for me to anyway. We still feel weak and sluggish and that sense of awe and wonderment seems to have been mostly lost.
And the writing. Oh gosh the writing is atrocious. Who in their right mind thinks this is permissible?
(The art team knocks it out the park as always though. Nowhere near God of War levels, but good.)
That’s not to say there aren’t some things I’m genuinely enjoying because there are. But it just feels like at this point...it may just be too little too late. Anyone else feels that way? I want to care. I really do. I miss how much fun this game was, and can be at times, in spurts. I just can’t bring myself to feel excited about it much at all anymore.
Escalation protocol is awesome. Well, it was the one time I was finally able to get in it with nine people. But that’s just it. A metaphor for Bungie. The best activities have always been the least accessible. The hardest part about this is how they don’t realize it by now. After all this time.
The most fun things to do shouldn’t be the hardest to actually even be allowed to do. It’s extremely exhausting just repeating this rhetoric over and over again.
Come the fall expansion, I’m gonna take a serious look at the level of “do I rly even give an eff” before even considering spending another cent on this once incredible franchise with near endless potential. You all may wanna do the same.

3 RepliesFor where they left you in D1, storywise; I expected a tie in by now. (Especially after two expansions) Yet there's no reference to the Stranger, at all, and the Osiris campaign wasn't much of one for such a legendary Guardian. I at least expected a small prequel to his introduction, perhaps where you could play as Osiris during his exile, but disappointment set in once I realized how short lived it was. So I feel "meh", to say the least, but only cos it seems like, if you want your full value of entertainment(and full value from your money)from Destiny 1 or 2, you should wait till all of the DLC has been released and the game is entirely done with

10 RepliesSo, Many say Escalation is better than Forge and Court and PoE. I say BS. Grind 7 waves for a chance at a piece of armor (not guaranteed) and the armor is lower than 370. Forge you had a better chance at the Onslaught battle of getting the Forge Armor than 7 Waves of Hell in protocol. PoE had better structure and had chances at Exotic Gear (Not Vanity items) and had it's own Weapon Pool (Skolas) which each we're unique, besides Shank Burn. Protxal Gear, besides the 4 Weapons you can obtain (really rare) everything else is mmeh...

Become...... mediocre

7 RepliesI just hate how once your milestones are done there is no chance of getting better more powerful gear I don't do trials or nightfall I would like to do the raid but at this point it's been so long since the game came out and I don't ever know I'll definitely have that much time to commit anymore so I'm stuck slowly doing flashpoint crucible and clan xp (and waiting a week) milestones I was finally able to start doing strikes again today but that'll only get me 1 more powerful engram at this rate I might hit 385 just in time for the next dlc I liked it the way it was before where you could atleast get close to max then you had to do the raid to max out not that the milestones are a bad idea that guarantees something slightly better a few times a week but why not give atleast some chance of random power engram dropping or even something at your light level so if your at 360 but you have a pair of 355 boots or whatever you can get them up to par with the rest of your gear

Only playing because I was sucked into the pre orders

It’s kind of just reached a homeostasis. Not exciting, but it could be worse.

2 RepliesEdited by PomDizzle: 5/26/2018 12:01:06 AMThe exciting chase for weapons is drastically reduced. Exotics are fun/cool and all, but the thing that made grinding gear fun in destiny was chasing those god rolls then when you finally got one, trying it out in the crucible or strikes! Maybe some mathematician can crunch the numbers on how many "different" weapons there were in Destiny when taking into account all the different weapon and perk combos. I bet it was at least in the thousands. In D2, once you have the 10 best guns, there's not as much excitement left until they crank out new weapons. When the LOOT in a LOOTER/shooter is no longer cool or as desirable, what do you got left? Ships, shaders, speeders, ornaments? They don't mean SH** if you don't got that sweet sweet Grasp of Malok to show off with them!

This DLC has actually made me play it less.
-
Nope. Last just as long and go just as hard as when I was 18. Edit: just read the post. My bad...
-
I lost my love for the game. Now anything that happens doesn’t make me happy or mad. I dont think there’s anything that can be done to change that sadly :/

Old and stale like an old stale piece of cheese!

As far as losing the sense of wonder and awe goes, several hundred hours of the same thing for several years will do that to you. I don't know how I feel about the game currently. I've always played for long spurts, followed by long spurts of other games. Now I notice my time with the game gets shorter and my time away gets longer. I still have plenty to do in game. Warmind definitely gave us more to grind for.... It's just that I can't always bring myself to do the grind. 10 EP waves completed? After I already trudged through 5 for the Sleeper? No thanks. Maybe if getting into an EP activity with other players wasn't such a fcking nightmare, I'd be more interested.

4 Replies“I used to hurry home from work so I could game all evening” 😂😂 maybe you.... grew up?

Ownzy I approve your message and agree that warmind is a few steps in the right direction its also a few steps back. D2 cured my destiny addiction .
-
I think someone said it best when D2 first came out. "The world's most okayest game"
-
Now? Since day 1.
-
It was fun for two weeks, and better than last DLC, but still it is meh. I will play faction rallies just to get the exotic catalysts though. Still no desire to play PVP.
-
As we should be at this point.
-
Its just what happenes when people dont put care into the things they say they care about. Like this game... money driven no heart, you can feel the heart has been ripped out. So what to do with the pieces, how about the campfire site rule. smh... Put the heart back into Destiny.
-
While D2 has improved, it's just gone from horrible to just bearable. I only sorta care about playing it now.
-
Bungie has been selling D1 back to you bit by bit. You should have been "Meh" a lot sooner than now.
-
Well, when it came out everyone was calling it a giant ball of crap. Now we're up to 'average' and 'meh'. That's progress, baby! :)
-
So what else is new? Yet for some odd reason, you keep coming back to get your teeth kicked in.
-
Now?? Ummm.. Been feeling this way since September.
-
I feel like I wrote this post! Exactly how I'm feeling right now. I was hopeful for escalation protocol, but the way they have set it up is just idiotic, then to have the arrogance in TWAB to say it's designed for 3 players is unbelievable. When they invited the YouTube'ers down to play they put them in groups of 9. Think they are just trying to buy time until they are forced to do something. I'm going to wait until the fall DLC has been out a month before getting it and no way am I pre ordering D3. Bit let down really

I will not be buying or even considering buying the next expansion until well after the warts have been exposed. I bought D1 & all the expansions well in advance, had a great time playing all of them as well. Now, my 200 person clan is down to 70 people & most of them are just to lazy to leave the clan. Hell the clan leader has not even been on since October. I have no idea what Bungie has been thinking. Won't be buying D3 either. All the Good will I had for them has been toasted.
