Is Iron Banner pointless?
No level advantage or gear drops higher then soft cap? Am I missing something or is it just glorified crucible for ornaments? The banner used to be a great event, now just... pointless? Help me understand Bungie?
Also, if you don’t raid then how do you lvl past 145!? Milestones don’t really help? I was hoping banner would help but not at all. What the hell? Why is banner so useless!? It used to be the way ppl who didn’t raid got higher light level? Suggestions?

Not if you don’t mind grinding for cosmetic gear and reskins. Also if you don’t mind that IB doesn’t count for valor or glory ranking

It's pointless but the ornaments look pretty good, not better than the last set but good. Think up to rank 10 would've been better seeing to how this event is pointless. They went too hard saying rank 35 for a ship lol

It use to be endgame content with endgame rewards. That was nerfed with d2. Just play it for fun, otherwise skip it.

From what I’ve been reading players cannot play without it! It’s crushing kids dreams as we speak!!! Its a computer game. It’s all a bit pointless really. I suppose the point is to get some enjoyment out of the game. If you enjoy ib then it’s not pointless...

I feel like everyone that works at or for bungie is only allowed to work there if they got dropped on their head as a baby. I mean I wouldn't doubt that's an actual requirement with how they continue to screw everything up, on purpose at that.

Frankly it always was pointless, level advantage meant very little because everyone was leveled anyway. They should be giving at least a unique game mode to play if all it's going to deal in is PvP. Otherwise it's just another reward layer, and that's okay to a degree. Not so much when you make it out to be anything more than that though.

Season 3 IB weapons and ornaments look bad, 6v6 control plays bad. So yeah pointless

I think it makes more sense to play glory or valor. At least then you get engrams for resetting if you put in the time.

This season it just doesn’t work. The armor ornaments are the only good things. The ship looks ugly, the weapons suck. And the emblem is behind a paywall

I just played it to get the helmet and I'm done with it. The guns are stale and reskinned, ornaments are not catchy, and all of those super kills for an ornament?! Ridiculous.

1 ReplyIt seems so to me, from my analysis the weapons either are just plain bad or there are other legendaries that perform the same or better that don’t require such a grind, that and I’m a titan and the imo the Titan armor does not look good

Technically it’s pointless visually it’s not, the IB guns are very boring, more reskins so I don’t care about them. I want new unique looking/sounding guns with each DLC. I’m a collector to an extent, but not to the extent of grinding reskins. I find this destiny 2 team to be a bit lazy, take the raids for example everything is on the leviathan...Also destiny 1 iron banner gear looked unbelievably more amazing lol like what are they doing now...
