Edit: this is just an assumption but anyone else who's having the same problem; this is what I did and it may be what caused the problem. I got all 45 data frags and then I went to open both of the chests so maybe what I'm thinking is you're supposed to open chest as you get the data and if you open them both at the end maybe it takes away one of them if anybody can give me some feedback whether it worked opening the chest that way or if everybody who's having the problem open their chest that way that could be the issue I just finished my 6th walkthrough of the 45 data fragment locations The first time I noticed the data fragment was when I was exploring Mars for the first time in Patrol I came across one and didn't know what it was. I shot it with my weapon and it said immune so I looked it up on the forum and a mentor posted a guide to finding all 45 I follow the video along and pause it at each number and go to the location. After going through all of 45 it said I only had 44 so I tried going through the guide again. I figured maybe I missed one so I went back did the same thing and didn't find it so I tried 3 other videos on YouTube instead and it didn't work on those. I believe one of my data fragments has disappeared or is bugged I've gone to all 45 spots shown online and still no fragments have respawned and my count hasn't increased. Please fix this or at the very least add one more data fragment right next to the final chest so if people experience this bug they don't have to look endlessly, hope it respawns or wait for a patch to fix it. Adding 1 more next to sparrow chest would just be a simple quick fix.
