While playing the campaign of the Warmind DLC on PS4 Pro every now and then (say every 7 to 8 seconds) there is a slight stutter in the movement of the image. Anyone else see this?

5 RepliesToday's patch notes say it should now be fixed: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46866

1 ReplySame here. PS4 Pro. It’s not just the new Mars areas, either, it’s affected the entire game. It’s really ruining the enjoyment of the game.
-
Same. Runs like the crap this game is, on PS PRO.

Edited by sam6862: 5/10/2018 7:04:40 PMPS4 model CUH-1001a. I used a capture card and a custom hand written C++ program that counted number of unique frames, shown on my video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw_wO019nhM D2 Tower 5549 / 11200 = 0.4954 (almost no players in it) D2 Earth 4753 / 9600 = 0.4951 D1 Tower 4999 / 10000 = 0.4999 (full of players) D1 Earth 7197 / 14400 = 0.4997 Multiply by refresh rate which is either 59.94 or 60 Hz. The numbers shows that an old Destiny 1 average frame rate (30 fps) barely drops to less then half the refresh rate (60 hz), while Destiny 2 just runs very poor on PS4.

1 ReplySame Problem. Extremely annoying. Any status update to that issue @Bungie?? System is a PS4 Pro
-
10 RepliesHello, Thank you for your report. We are currently investigating this issue. If possible, please provide video footage of this issue as you are encountering it in-game. Any video or imagery that players can provide will be helpful in our investigations.

Having the same problem. I'm on PS4 pro
-
Having the exact same issue on base PS4. Tried database rebuild, uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the issue still persists.
-
I also have the same problem, in crucible, everywhere.
-
it feel like a frame pacing problem!
-
2 RepliesI had a similar problem, but it resolved after I turned off the HDR output from my TV to that HDMI port. I'd been playing a bunch of games that were good with HDR but D2 doesn't seem to like it.
-
Loaded the game up again last night to try and capture some extra footage for evidence but the stutter was much less apparent. Was even able to play a full game of Crucible without many issues. So it seems that it's not simply a console problem and it also depends on other factors (network quality, server load??). Which is an even more difficult case for Bungie to troubleshoot...

5 RepliesEdited by al3xp: 5/9/2018 9:13:45 AMI'm having it on PS4 Pro too. Tried database rebuild. It's ruining bungie's signature gunplay feel. Feels like a frame pacing issue. In quiet areas it just skips random frames, but the frame rate can really tank in intense scenes. Happens in all parts of the game world, not just mars. Even seen it in menus while in orbit. Im struggling to play like it is. It's broken the whole game for me.
-
Just checked and stutter shows up on game recordings so it's definitely an engine problem and not anything between the PS4 output and display. Come on bungie, this is making the game really unenjoyable. I don't want to play it like this. Just some acknowledgement you are looking in to it would be nice.
-
13 RepliesWell, maybe if you had a console that could actually handle 4K gaming.....
-
Yes, but ive noticed a general lack of stability from the system in general, and such has been reported by many since the overpriced, under powered rip-off was released. It is not just destiny.
-
I've just tried with HDR off, but it made no difference. Just running around the tower, even previewing emotes it's so stuttery. It feels terrible. It's completely lost its bungie smooth feel. If it wasn't for my clan I probably wouldn't log in again till it's fixed.
-
Yes, it's Bungie. The three stooges of game development. Do you think they tested it? No, they want the money.
-
1 ReplyWe did a test on a friends normal PS4 now and it´s the same problem like with the PS4 Pro. Bungie really needs to look into this. The game is really a stutter fest right now.
-
same happens for me (base PS 4), thought it might've been connected with LAN or some background downloads, but nothing is loading the network, so I guess it has something to do with game itself. Hope Bungie will pay attention to this

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 5/9/2018 2:40:04 PMYeah, the frame rate/pacing on PS4 Pro is appalling (with HDR on and off) - is this another 'platform exclusive' to enjoy ? It was also an issue in CoO after the 'go faster' update .....flying around in the Vex light tunnels (and during Public Event) would see my Guardian comically slam into the actual portal structure (not automatically fly through), and occasionally see me stood on the very top of the portal ....sweeping/waving/handstands commence Also, there's issues with the anti aliasing on XB1X (multiple comments on Reddit) ....the stars look a mess! I blame Rasputin! 😆 Overall, Warmind is disgraceful....production and quality of a low grade C/Z-Movie
-
3 RepliesI made a thread about this problem on Reddit yesterday, and others posted to report the same experience. It appears to be a frame pacing bug. Still haven't seen any acknowledgement from Bungie though.
-
4 RepliesThat's another exclusive for you to enjoy.
-
Hey guys if you are having these issue remember to upvote the post so it gets more attention.
-
Yup I noticed it right away, this has to be addressed.
-
Can anyone try to capture this through ShareFactory? Firstly it will help as evidence for Bungie and secondly, if it's not present in the recording then it's probably an issue with the actual HDMI output. I would do it but I'm at work right now...
