I was always excited and eager to play the expansions and DLC of D1. Friends and clan mates would farm materials and engrams (which did work a few times) then chat while waiting for the new content to open.
However, I have not enjoyed D2 like all of D1. I’m only playing Warmind because I bought the season pass and don’t want to “waste my money.” Most of my friends and clan feel the same and once they do the campaign and maybe the new mode then they will leave again.
Anyone else feel the same?
This isn’t I hate Destiny or fire Luke Smith post. It’s just asking if you are in the same boat.
Edit: To clarify, my point isn’t I hate Destiny (which I stated in my unedited post) it’s that in the past I was excited to get new content. This time around a large part is “I paid for it and might as well play it” feel than excitement. D2 has been a let down but i hope this is a turnaround.
Edit: Beat the campaign. It was short like I expected and it does set up an interesting plot development for the future. I don’t like the power progression being so slow. Why is the new mode set for 370 recommendation but we can’t really enjoy it till a grind of 1-3 weeks? Why does the heroic strike recommend 350 but drop gear below that level? For instance I’m 345 and getting nothing to help progression even slightly from strikes. I’m an alpha/beta and day one player but i don’t get why Bungie can’t find a nice sweet spot for progression because D1 Vanilla was too slow and this seems just as slow. Why did Bungie not test and prevent the bug not counting heroic strikes for milestones and the quest?
I am entertained but I suspect once I get the exotic sword and do the secrets, then I’ll be done. What I’m certain of is I’m not going to pre order the fall expansion or any Bungie products until reviews are done or enough friends give the thumbs up. None of my friends are happy with D2 and we loved D1 so I trust their opinions more than “critics.”

4 RepliesYeah I’m in this boat. My plan is to play through the campaign to see Xol and then uninstall D2. It’s been an interesting 4+ years with some awesome times and many frustrating, disappointing and lacklustre times. My main issues are: - The narrative of Destiny feels both lazy, incompetent and rushed all at the same time. - The game as a whole, to me, feels like Bungie are taking the easiest, most boring option each time and even then, they seem to make a mess of it. Frankly, I just get more engagement out of other games these days and I’m happy to close the door on this franchise and Bungie as a game developer. No, I won’t be coming back with the September Expansion. They had their chance with Destiny 2 and in my eyes they failed. Moving on...

1 ReplyMy clan is max. 100 members. Participation in Warmind has been around 15% thus far. Many have yet to return.
-
1 ReplyMy brother and roommates (all bought $100 destiny) didn’t even know the new dlc dropped until I told them lol They said “who cares?”
-
I really like the expansion. If it had random rolled activity specific weapons it would be perfect. Well worth the 20 beans, tons to do and masterwork upgrade. Well done bungie keep it up!!!!
-
5 RepliesI have cut Bungie a lot of slack... I'm fully dissapointed now, 4 missions... I remember when a DLC ment new raid, full campaign and some strikes. Now it's an update (needed due to poor exotics in the first place & only weapons were addressed there is still plenty of garbage "exotic" armour) I'll play enough to get my monies worth. I wont be back for the next dlc. The road has to end somewhere... & Bungie this is as far as we go

1 ReplyI tried to play it to grind but in the end it was the quest that's tough and grindy for the sleeper simulant that killed my enthusiasm for ever touching this game again. That and the 5 sad Campaign missions give me a damn story not a epilogue. Also you shouldn't have grind for something you had in destiny 1 as hard
-
I bought the Band Aid pass. Yes. sigh
-
Even if I didn’t have the Season Pass, I still would have got on to try out the Exotic update. And then probably have bought the DLC because I like the Exotics and want some new content to use them in. I’m not having a bad time, I might even venture to say I’m having fun, for now.

I just came back for warmind lore. Mother of God I was disappointed Bungo just sell your company to digital extremes and go away. Pull a trump and back right out of the gaming industry
-
Warmind is so under whelming, boring and apparently broken anyone else getting baboon disconnect errors and getting put back on mars map some random outpost also the first stroy mission broke half way through
-
Sadly ... yes.

-
2 RepliesPrepaid, so I’m playing. Unfortunately Mars is really boring to look at. Story was ok, but VERY short which was disappointing. Sounds like the grind to max light is all on milestones now? If so, I’ll jump on for a couple milestones per week and that’s about it I’d say. Would jump on more to grind out strikes which I found really fun in D1 Rise Of Iron, but not if it drops gear lower than the recommended to even play heroic strikes.
-
34 Replies1 hour long story campaign= fk that Heroic Strikes are 350 level, drop 335 level gear =trash this is another joke by bungie. bungie is a joke
-
I got very hyped about it because I knew it was something I already owned but I also still enjoy playing the game, not the story or the loot but the feel of being a guardian
-
1 ReplyFirst thing I realized when starting up Warmind (while waiting for it to install anyways) was that, and I'm not exagerating, I was not at all excited for this expansion. With all of the D1 expansions, when I booted them up the first time, I was ecstatic, looking forward to the new content even if D1 wasn't the best game. I didn't feel that at all yesterday, instead it was more akin to "lets just get this over with". I really hatethat feeling, especially when it comes to games. Already paid for it though, so here's to hoping it gets better.
-
1 ReplyYep. Played it and finished it. Sorely disappointing, won't be preordering the next dlc (maybe never buy it) and just pray bungie does something with D3 that makes us forget everything about D2. Literally would pay full price for a rebooted D1 that just continues and builds on itself. Rather than these games where the devs forget everything they've done in the previous game.. Just hit the redo button already. Keep D1's looks and mechanics. Make an impactful storyline chalked full of lore to discover, mysteries to solve and a way to feel like we all have genuinely earned the title of "Legend". Rather than it being handed to us on a half done, fully rushed platter of nonsense.

Fired up Destiny last week after not playing for months and nothing had changed, just like the day I last logged out. Then realised DLC2 was up this week so got stoked, not played it yet as away with work so will give it a blast this weekend. Put some serious hours into Destiny 1, but got bored of D2 so quickly, it was like they had taken steak and chips and changed it to chips and steak, but used oven chips to make it better. Fingers crossed for Warmind, and no more oven chips!

2 RepliesEdited by Jamo_3000: 5/9/2018 8:03:25 PMI gave the devious bastards my hard earned money last year (they took all our money) and in return they robbed this community blind! With the steaming pile of shite the whole community was served D2. They have released x2 DLC’s and both are absolutely bottom of the rung, they both had about 3 or 4 story missions in these mini strike like missions they try and cram a complex story down your throat leaving you more confused than when you started OH BUT WE HAVE ALTERED EXOTIC WEAPONS! So what!!!! It should have been this way In the first place,,, this title is a joke and everyone has moved on BUT we payed for this tripe so we take a look and get that “kicked in the balls” feeling every time I load it up,,,, BUT September it’s all gonna change, and you dull swines will believe that bullshit and throw your cash at the screen! Well F-that! games like spider man and Red Dead Redemption2 will keep me well away from D2, and I could give to shits about this title
-
5 RepliesI mean, on the bright side, at least I'll get the other DLCs for free if they ever come out with other ones.
-
Probably, but haven't been on since January. In no rush to download or play do to all the bugs that are found. Game is no longer a priority. Got on Destiny the other week for WOTM and crucible, FUN TIMES and Memories. Have no desire to purchase anything more, like the expansion/dlc that is supposed to fix the whole thing.
-
That and I was hoping my clan would come back on in part or full. Yesterday I only got to play for an hour or so before the Rockets game but only 1 other clan member got on in that time. We'll see what happens tonight since I'll have more time.
-
Pretty much. If I didn't buy the season pass then I would have done what I did back in D1, wait about a week then ask my friends who buy all the DLC's if it's worth it.

Bought the SP and so far didn't even bother to play. Although D1 was ever only just an okay game, i always played dlc's the day it was released. First time i give a crap and the fact that i haven't played for 6 weeks says pretty much how s***y this game is. Especially as one could say i played like an addicted since D1 beta and although crap, was ranked #124 on ps4's app of most time wasted on destiny 2^^ This game is an incredible pile of bullcrap and the last chance to even give it a try was destroyed by yet another bungle b**** move, when implementing their prismatic matrix cash grab. This company is not only full of incompetent, incapable monkeys, but also full of a bunch of moronic a**h****!

Tried it a bit last night for the first time in aaaages. Can't bring myself to play it again tonight.
