Guided Games Tickets: Why is There a Limit?

I honestly don't know a whole lot about the tickets for guided games but I do know that they are limited. I have used up almost all of them trying to get duty bound but if I didn't decide to use lfg, I probably never would have got it. All's I'm asking, is that you make the tickets infinite, because for things like the nightfall specific loot where it can take between 3 and 40 completions...you run out pretty quickly. The nightfall specific loot has really been the only time I've even used guided games, but it would be much appreciated if they weren't finite anymore. Edit: Maybe they could add in a "guided games" sort of ranking like for crucible. The more people you guide to the end of an activity, the points towards your ranking you get. They could put in maybe a weapon and unique emblem that each season it either grants a different bonus. Such as extra drop chance at nightfall loot when doing guided games. Chance at extra raid drops. Give the guides incentive to actually guide.

    • They should've just added normal matchmaking to Nightfalls. Right now, you have to be higher level to do Heroic strikes than you do Nightfall, so difficulty is not the reason for no matchmaking. Probably more like laziness.

    • It would be much appreciated if Bungie got rid of that abomination Guided games and introduced an OMM system but as usual Bungie pay little heed to what actual players want. We can dream though, probably whilst playing another game

    • How about giving guides their own “Redrix Claymore”(sp?). An incentive to help those around them? Driving more community momentum. Pvp ranks are great but what about pve? How could you implement a certain system for that side of the game? It shouldn’t look like pvp ranks entirely. You can build more community momentum and save time by doing it where you already put hours into development. You don’t scrap, you build right? Innovate. PROBLEM SOLVE. <3 😎 Incentive for guides and having it be seasonally obtained and well built to be beautiful IN A PLAYER’S EYES is the way to go. Is there a way you could implement something to guided games this way? For the future? A bright one? If there was an influx of guides this system may just need minor tweaking and not necessarily scrapped and something put in its place. You spent time developing this make it work. *blurry vision*

    • Did you consider maybe using the app for LFG? It'd take much less time to put together a fireteam that's keen to do prestige NF runs for the specific loot. I'd do it that way rather than wait 30 mins before each guided round.

      • They exist because there is an imbalance between seekers of guides and those prepared to be guides. The consequence of infinite tickets would be that there would be no mechanism to attempt to balance supply and demand and queue wait time would grow towards infinity, limited only by people’s patience. If every time you went to queue it was two hours long would that be a better outcome? There are two answers 1) allow optional matchmaking in all activities 2) bribe the heck out of people to be guides. E.g make being a guide give you another crack at the once per week loot for that activity.

        • I’ve never used guided games enough to spend all of my tickets. Not to mention that wait time. Not to mention already max light.

            • I agree. So many times I wanted to do a Nightfall and havent had tickets in a while. They should replenish with each weekly reset, not each frickin season....
