I remember when people took DLC day off...
People used to call in sick; I used to skip class...the hype...the excitement...gone.

I took every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday off for every DLC in D1. I would download as soon as it released on Tuesday and would play all day long, all week. Hmm. For D2, I wouldn't even think of taking a day off. And not even sure if I'll play it this weekend. Just don't really care anymore.

That was when people were under the illusion that the DLC might be really good. After the first few DLC in destiny 1 most of us learnt that bungie wasnt about to put a lot into the DLC content. Though surprisingly curse of osiris had even less in it than the first set of destiny 1 DLCs. So somehow they got worse. Either way after the first two DLCs of destiny 1 i have never had my hopes up for the DLC, and for all of them except for curse of osiris (which managed to go below any kind of expectation) my mind was not changed.

2 RepliesYeah I remember too. And I remember you get stuck in infinitieth place in queue while waiting to log on. And once you do eventually log on, you get the entire noahs ark worth of animal error codes thrown at you as you get punted from the servers after 15 minutes of gameplay. And then you think to yourself "Next DLC, im just going to work and letting everyone else deal with this. I will play the game later that day when all this crap has worked itself out."

I didn't have to call in sick, i have every Tuesday off every week guaranteed...unless i call i and ask for a shift. lol

For me it starts after 2-3pm so it only makes sense to take the next day off but I have responsibilities.

4 RepliesWe of the Halo croud used to call in sick because we were in school and it almost didn't matter. Nowadays we work and calling off is a bad thing. I don't speak for the scumlord idiots who still call off work to play fu[I]c[/I]king Vidya.

i never did. seems silly. i did just take a vacation days for backpacking, that's more of a time and weather dependent activity.

3 Repliesi remember when dlc was stuff the designers thought of and made AFTER the game was released, because the original game was selling so well players wanted even more. now dlc is all part of the designed game lifecycle. its all planned for well in advance, and some of it always should have been in the main game from the start usually.

2 RepliesI'm at work. Destiny isn't worth my pto. plus lets be honest we are going to blow thru the content in less than a week. Hopefully better than curse of osiris which was a couple of hours. I'm still deciding if i want to play destiny today or kill the Valkyrie queen in God of War.

Never taken time off for the minor dlcs, based off the amount of content they contain it seems pretty pointless. Not to mention they seem to drop in the evening and I work in the day.

I remember when House of Wolves DLC was released in May 2015 (think that's the year) and our whole clan took off of work/school so that at 1:00 P.M. EST we could all jump in right away. Gamed almost non-stop until after midnight. I haven't played Destiny since at least January, but since I've already purchased the DLC I will at least play through the new story mode (or whatever). Wish we could go back to the glory days of Destiny. Oh well, that ship is already gone!
