The DLC is going to punish players that run multiple characters of same class
According to twab, raid and raid lair loot drops will only drop once per class per week. I run 3 warlocks. I don’t really care, I’ll just run it once a week. My problem with this is that this is classic bungie trying to slow down progression to keep players engaged in the dlc longer. This means two things:
1) bungie probably hasn’t learned its lesson from all the player backlash (XP throttle, garbage curse of Osiris dlc, etc.)
2) the warmind dlc probably isn’t much better than Osiris (in story and amount of content)
The good news is we we will find out next week. Hopefully it turns the franchise in the right direction. The bad news for bungie is this dlc concludes my $100 pre order/season pass. If they want any more money from me in the fall, they better have something that blows my skirt up

[spoiler]How about not having 3 characters of the same class?[/spoiler] EDIT: Even then it makes sense why they have done this, it prevent people with multiple of the same class from getting their Power up faster than people who have 1 character of each class. It basically puts everyone on an even playing field. Don't be mad just because you can't level up as fast or faster than the rest of the playerbase.

1 ReplyIt's not slowing progression, it's preventing players from exploiting the system to accelerate progression. You'll progress at the same speed as everyone else. If all three of your warlocks got high level gear you'd progress three times faster than everyone else.

3 RepliesWhen I read that in the twab I had a bad feeling in my gut. I don't have multiples of one class in D2, but I used too in D1. And this DLC is going to make it pointless for people to have 2 or more of the same class. The worst part is, they can't progress both characters individually the same week, they have to choose one. Plus, now they are technically at a disadvantage because if you have one of each class, you still have a chance to get a weapon of higher light so that you can transfer it to level your main. Whereas people with duplicates don't even get that! This wouldn't have been a problem if it was introduced into the game at launch, but introducing it NOW is a bad idea. Cause players already took the time to run through the campaign 3 times and centralized themselves around the game's systems. Thus, about 2 thirds of their time dedicated will now be disregarded and become an invaluable investment. Even though this "change" allows for fairer play in regards to being the first group to beat the raid lair, it's still screwing a minority which were centralized around this mechanic. And to the fellow downvoters of this comment, if Bungie continues this course of action, note that they might one day disregard your timely investments as well. Afterall, they've done it in the past.

2 RepliesI have one of each, but the way I see it is that they gave you 3 slots and nowhere does it say you can’t double up or triple up on a chosen class, personally I don’t see the appeal of running 2 or 3 of the same but you shouldn’t be punished for it, you paid the same as everyone else, the choice is yours.

5 RepliesI run 2 titans, Personally I feel this forces me to play a very specific way now. Which I despise. It shouldn’t matter that I get armor faster for one character, what should matter is I’m enjoying the game. So much for creating your own destiny

You can't even fast level up with having one of the same class like you could on D1, so whats the point anyway.

3 RepliesDon’t bother trying to rationally explain anything to the children on these forums. They don’t care about anything but their own jealousy of seeing other players level faster than they do being alleviated. Most haven’t even completed a raid. They’re just here to shitpost and put you down. Most are casuals who don’t even play the game enough for their opinion to matter. They will be back to playing Fortnite or CoD within hours of Warmind’s release.

i'm pretty sure that's only the tip of the iceberg ! as we get closer to release date and 2-3days withing the DLC i'm sure youtube will expose Bungie scams they are trying with this DLC

1 ReplyThink of it this way. It sets you free. You can use the three the same to grind up to the soft cap quickly. Then you only have to run each activity once a week and fill in the rest of the week with another game or something else altogether rather than feeling like you should run each activity three times. As long as you can remember the reason you don't play other classes is you actually don't enjoy playing them but were just doing it for progression it'll be fine. Bungie just forcibly removed your last significant incentive to play more of the game if there are classes you don't enjoy playing. You've just gone from logging in and grabbing weekly rewards on three characters to do it on one. Even though calendar time to max level will extend, The time saving in weekly gameplay time to get there will be huge. You'll get away with playing 2/3 less Destiny per week than you used to for the same eventual outcome.

2 RepliesThey have already been nerfing light level gains. They want to keep people around searching for that helmet. I can't blame them. I like the idea of having something to do each week and having time to play other games. What I don't like... Is I got a full raid armor set on one class, then the other classes I just kept getting duplicates.... Never got a full set. Now that sucks.... The most annoying thing is the soft cap at 340. We are already at 335, so having a soft cap so low sucks. It should take about 5 minutes to hit the soft cap, then only your weeklys will level you up? I'm thinking it will make the most sense to hit 340 (345 with +5 mods) before starting the campaign. What od you think?

Good. I've seen load of people saying I have nothing to do yet have 3 of the same class, 1 of each is definitely the way to go.
