The way people are treating Solo Players makes me feel DISGUSTED to be a co op player
You treat them like they're nothing but dirt, only fit to be under your heel. And now I'm expected to view them the same way just because I Do Raids and PvP with clanmates?! I'm not above them and [b][i]YOU'RE[/i][/b] not above them either! We all paid the same money for this game, why should we segregate ourselves?!!
Edit: It seems my post didn't rub on some people correctly, Allow me to (Try) and Rectify that.
I am not saying Solo players shouldn't have to at least put in the effort to get the endgame loot whether that be with randoms or new friends they make along the path, But when players openly attack and insult them, That's where I draw the line.
Example: a forum user (As much as it'd add at least SOME validity to my case I cannot state their name) made a forum post which has now been removed by Moderators. In said post, they called solo players "the problem" and that they should "Play how the game is intended or not play at all"
Example 2: This comment comes from this very thread! (you know who you are and the rest can see it if they search)

7 RepliesThe whole ethos behind the creation of Destiny was Co-operation. Its great that solo players want to play but they must understand that this game was built in a certain way for a certain audience. Why is it that Destiny must change? why can't the solo players compromise a bit too?

2 RepliesUhh. No. I have offered, as have many others, to assist them. Many many times. They either never respond, or show up and suck or have to leave early. Maybe 1% have been decent, but when you add them they refuse to invite you or message for stuff. Then you always see them in an lfg group and then on the forums complaining that they cant get the raid done, and crying about solo players..... The above is fact. Undeniable.

Solo players want a multiplayer game changed because find it hard to get together with the multitude of people just like them.

Aside from the campaign, patrol and some of the Weekly stuff. What else do you do solo. This game doesn’t even allow you, to chose a specific strike. Like back in D1.

Time and again Bungie has said that they want to cater to all types of players...go back and read or watch their content. Raids sure can't be for the most part...but no reason NF needs any frickin coordination to disable matchmaking.

2 RepliesAs a solo player, I really couldn't give a crap less. If I'm playing solo in PvE, its not like there's anything they can do to me anyway. If I'm playing solo in PvP, half the people in every match are trying to kill me anyway. If the other half (my team) tried to get me killed ever time I played, it'd be detrimental to their own winning. So, there's really not anything that anyone can do about it. Unless Bungie makes all of the campaign missions as tough as that one mission in D1, on Phobos, where you have to fight the shadow of Oryx in that room where there's poison gas everywhere, and enemies constantly pouring into the room, while the boss is pummeling you... I doubt I'll need help to get past whatever I plan on doing. That's the only mission that I ever needed help on. But, even if I did need help, I'm sure there'd be plenty of other players looking for help on the same thing. So, I really just don't care.

5 RepliesI didn't understand the post at first. After reading quite a few comments, I get what it's about. I think if the game had better and or more matchmaking options, the community wouldn't have to be at war over stupid shit like this all the time. (Although some other stupid shit will always take its place). The Division has matchmaking for every single activity in the game. Even it's hardest Incusions. Nothing in the game was out of reach for any player. Sometimes I think Bungie encourages the community infighting though. The game supports an elitism similar to class inequality by putting items behind group activities that don't allow in game options to matchmake. It is just a game though and that elitism can't exist without envy so, maybe neither side should be putting such a high value on in game items that are literally worthless in the real world? Just a thought.

For a game that wants to bill itself as a coop game it does a poor job when it comes to matchmaking. needing a third party site/app to team with folks. I'll grant that random matchmaking in the raid would lead to some failures, but probably also some success. But lack of strike like matchmaking in nightfall is nothing more than arificial elitism. If this update is actually what is being reported and the solo players bail the game will truly be empty. The few that may come back will be overshadowed by those who leave. And what makes it frustratiing to me is that I think they had a pretty good game in D1Y3 and they tossed so much of it aside.

They've been whining since 2014 and they will be doing it until this franchise ends. You know, they have this fantasy, twisted belief that Destiny was made and promoted as a multiplayer game, they have no clue whatsoever what was the concept behind this game creation and what was said by Bungie about it that made solo players, which btw are the HUGE majority of players, buy this game and stay with it all this years. How do you fight such level of ignorance? Well, you could try to argue and show them they are wrong. Problem is they can only hear their own voice in their little, flawed reality, so the best thing to do is just ignore them. Stay cool guardian.

I play solo a lot of the time since D2 population crashed. I played solo a lot in D1 too. Other than trials or raids everything is accessible, what is it that's got you so aggravated?

1 ReplyThis is a coop game. Solo players only see the posts from elitists and give up. They could literally make their own lfg post and get a team. And not every post on lfg is from an elitist. Ive made hundreds of posts over D1 and D2 to help people in raids etc. Ive even made posts for people who have never done them offering to help them through and teach them the mechanics. Solo players crying about endgame... they dont need to do the endgame if theyre solo imho. And if they have no intention of doing the endgame why do they need hard cap max? When someone searches for a job, there will be 2 types of jobs out there.. the "Must have experience, degree, training" and the "willing to train no experience".. welcome to life. If you want the job that requires experience but dont have any.. you going to call the company and cry like a bitch that theyre being elitist and unfair because someone else is better qualified to get the job done?

Multiplayer = Teamwork/competitive gameplay together with other players Singleplayer = Games for the own experience without any interaction with other players People which don't get that are stupid imo. Also, if a solo player has problems with finding a group for raids/trials/etc. they should maybe adapt themself and learn to find people? I started D1 in September 2014 as a solo player. I never played a raid in any game before and didn't even know that such things exist in the world.... Then VoG droped in D1 and woke my interests. I flew to the Tower and asked every goddamn german speaking guardian on it, to try the activity together as a 6-man-team. Finding people isn't hard. You have just to use your brain more than just pushing Buttons...

I know its boring to find people to play with specially when you need to go to a website or an app to find players and you will end up with sqweekers and kids that got no idea what they are doing and look for free loot but you can kick them till you find the right players. We all know the game got problems but u should know its a coop game and decide keep play it or move on. Simple
